Pit May 1st, Room 4-18 [Pit was rubbing at his eyes, still half asleep from being put under since getting out of the Dark World. Despite still being out of it, the only thing he could think of was getting to his double's room, to see if he was okay, and hopefully by the time he finished crying and yelling at him, he'd be awake enough to punch him.] May 6th, Floor Seventy-Seven [Now that Pit's caught up on the goings on of the Tower? He needed to get himself ready for the fights that were obviously going to come. He wasn't going to do that by training, by working out, or by making sure his weapons were in good working order.]HOT SPRING!!! [...hope you weren't in the sauna, because Pit just did a massive canon ball into the water, cloths, sandals, and all.] |
Nanako Dojima May 4th, Floor One Hundred and One [Nanako hasn't been able to return to her room since Ken died.] [She has been hiding in the gardens for a long time, mostly because it was the only floor she felt safe in. A lot of times she woke up, she found herself back in her room, but she scurried back to the gardens before anyone else woke up. She was so tired and stressed out from it all, that often times she found herself nodding off during the day.] [She hated this place... she hated everything about it, and she wanted to go home.] May 9th, Floor Twenty-Six [Nanako was standing alone in the middle of the morgue, finally able to pull herself away from the gardens above. She didn't know what she was supposed to do... she wanted to cry and scream, but at the same time, she knew she couldn't do that. There would be no point.][After a moment, she curled her arms around herself, sinking to the floor.] Daddy... I want to go home... Mommy, help me... |
Luke fon Fabre May 10th, Room 3-14 [You could probably hear Luke whining from outside the door, followed by loud "Mieu mieu"s in response. An irritable groan followed, along with the most... awkward conversation ever.] C'mon! I'm not wearing that! Mieu! Miemiemieuu! But the admins gave it to me! I don't want it! Mieuuuuuu!!! All right! All right! Get off of my head!!! [It's a moment before Luke comes out of the room, wearing a new outfit, and looking absolutely sullen about it. He paused to glare at whomever decided to stop and listen outside the door.] ...what are you looking at? May 11th, All over the Tower [...okay, so maybe he liked the outfit they gave him.][Luke was trying to keep himself busy in the Tower, trying to take his mind off of last month. He's been helping lay out chips, and if you're lucky you might be able to catch him on the meadow, media, dormitories, and forest floors doing that. But it's not enough to really get his mind off of what happened, and all the drones following people around? Really doesn't help him at all; there isn't anywhere he's gone in the tower he hasn't been able to see them, and it just got to him more and more. Every time he sees one, he feels the guilt from what he was forced to do hit him in the chest again and again...] [Finally, he snapped.] [He was passing by the abandoned hospital ward on floor fifty-six when he noticed he was being followed. The drone wasn't really following him or even paying much attention to him; it was obvious that it was just there on its way elsewhere. Despite how obvious it was, it didn't keep Luke from turning on it.] [He didn't really know he was doing it. One moment he was turning, and the next, he was shoving the lifeless drone off of his blade, watching it tumble back down the stairs. Luke stood there, staring... before he tightened his hand into a fist. He could feel his stomach churning -- he had just killed someone -- but... if he could get rid of them...] |

Now I am.
You ass; do you think I wanted to do any of the crap I did?! I was being controlled, just as you were!
no subject
Well, you certainly seemed to be enjoying it.
[And speaking of attacks, he'll put some variety into the mix, balling his fist and aiming for Luke's stomach.]
no subject
Maybe if I knew you'd be like this, I would have!
no subject
What, am I supposed to apologize? Did I not bleed enough for you?
[Still low, he tucks his head and rams his shoulder into Luke's chest, using his own weight with every intent of knocking the other redhead over.]
no subject
You're not supposed to be acting like I enjoyed it, you jerk!
no subject
[Luke's attempt at tripping is pretty successful at throwing Asch off balance, but it's not so much that it puts him down immediately. He latches a hand into the front of Luke's shirt - going down or staying up, they're doing it together.]
no subject
Shut up! What the hell do you know?! You had it lucky, you jerk! You only had your mind altered! You weren't left struggling for countless hours against Jason, until your brain felt like it was dribbling out of its ears! You just gave up; Jason didn't have to melt your mind to get you to cooperate! And you just got to go back to the Tower in one piece! You weren't the one that had parts of your body removed -- while you were conscious -- and replaced with something else!
[Luke had started crying as he spoke, the horrible memories crawling into his head again like some kind of serpent. He let out a scream, driving his sword into the stairs by Asch's head. There was a moment where he couldn't do anything, clinging to the hilt as he shook, glaring down at his original.]
Don't... don't you ever say I enjoyed that ever again. Do you hear me!?
no subject
[Oh, he's pissed now. Luke drawing a weapon makes it totally fair game for Asch to do so as well, but for right now he's more interested in pulling himself to a more stable stance, his hands balled into fists.]
To be trapped in my own body? To watch without being able to do anything while the drone in control of me stood by waiting to be killed? You think I was like that because I gave up?
[He's shaking just as badly. The one time he was able to communicate, he'd died for defiantly clinging to himself, instead of just accepting fate like a good little drone. It's the same defiance in him now, that same hatred at his own helplessness.]
Don't talk like you know what it was like for me, either! You don't have a damned idea!
no subject
[...idiot...]
I didn't have any of that! I couldn't even think without permission!
[...Asch was such a damn idiot!]
And you still complain about how you had everything taken away from you?! You don't even know what it means to have everything taken away!
[He pulled his sword loose, but he didn't sheath it, half expecting Asch to try and fight from his prone position. He was dumb enough to try it, he didn't doubt his original was too.]
You're the one that doesn't have a clue, Asch!

[This has gone well beyond words. Asch doesn't bother moving, not at first - instead, he opens their connection and slams every ounce of his willpower into Luke's body. It's only once Luke's disabled by the pain of the headache that he starts getting up.]
You think you have any idea what it's like? To watch helplessly, unable to do anything?
[It's not forcing Luke to move, the way he's tried in the past. Rather, his will is just bent on keeping Luke from moving, on leaving his replica with that same feeling of being trapped that is so hated and familiar.
Asch draws his blade and takes a step forward, to rest the tip on Luke's shoulder, up against his replica's neck.]
Even an animal going to slaughter has the ability to flinch.

[...he couldn't do anything but feel, feel the scalpels pressing into his skin, the blood trailing down as he was cut open...]
[...screaming screaming screaming; he knew he had to be screaming but he couldn't even tell his mouth was moving...]
[His fingers twitched against the hilt of his sword as he tried to scream, only a faint sound coming from him at first...]
[...pieces were being pulled off, one by one, leaving only the parts of him that he needed to keep living... just a heart and a spine and a head and some blood vessels. He couldn't see that, of course; the top of his head had already been removed, his useless brain shoved into a funnel without his eyes or nose... just leaving his mouth and... that was pretty useless, as everything had been hooked up to speakers...]
[...and he couldn't move...]
[Tears fell from Luke's eyes as his head throbbed worse the more he fought Asch's control. He... he couldn't let that happen again... the feeling like everything he fought for, everything he wanted was ripped from him. He couldn't even control his own body... he was nothing more than a puppet, playing from a master's strings...]
[...and Asch was no different from them.]
[Luke screamed in rage, fear, and pain as he forced his body to move despite his original's control, bringing his sword down on Asch.]

It's lucky that his sword is already drawn, or that could have ended badly. The clash of metal on metal rings throughout the staircase.]
Don't you dare class me the same as them.
[The fact that he's answering Luke's thoughts instead of his words doesn't matter. He won't let it stand.]
I left the only place I had left in the world so that people would have the ability to make their own choices. I would have died for it then, and I will now - as many times as I have to.
[Because he knows what it's like, to live life without choices, and he'll fight for that right to chose, for anyone, for everyone. No matter what the consequences are.]

[Luke pressed his attack, driving Asch up the stairs. It was obvious he was taking his lessons on the meadow floor to heart; despite the point in the timeline he was from, his strength was completely different from how he was at Yulia City after Akzeriuth.]
I'm tired of hearing how much you gave up, how much you suffered! You're not special; you're not the only one who's had problems, who's life has been difficult, in this Tower or back home!
[Luke brought his sword down hard, launching himself into a combo he knew by heart as he braced himself on the stairs. For once, he found himself not even thinking about his footing, knowing that his feet knew where to go as he focused on anticipating how Asch would react.]
And if you're so willing to take advantage of someone else just because you can, then you're just as bad as they are!
no subject
Fine. Believe what you want.
[It's punctuated by a slash at Luke's side that Asch knows will be blocked before he even begins the motion. In a way, it's refreshing; for once, he has a healthy body that won't seize up in pain at some unexpected moment.]
Just know that you're only as special as I am.

[It didn't help that they knew the same fighting style... at least, mostly the same fighting style. Luke had a couple of new tricks up his sleeve thanks to switching teachers.]
[He grasped the hilt of his sword with both hands, bringing it up over his head, before slashing down as hard as he could, hoping to throw Asch off balance with the unexpected style switch.]
The only thing different about me is that I was made, not born; and no one cares about that! Because everyone accepts the fact that no matter how I came to be, I'm still myself! I'm not any different than anyone else!

Then make sure that you aren't doing the things that you call others out for.
[It's small acknowledgement. Luke can be whoever he wants, but that doesn't mean that Asch is obligated to like that person or find him valuable. Right now, as far as Asch cares, he's once more little more than useless trash.]

[Luke shoved at him hard, before deciding to take advantage of the hole in his guard and shove his foot in his stomach as hard as he could. Once his original was down, his sword was at his throat; it was a bit ironic, really... the whole incident was a complete reversal of Yulia City, something that hadn't happened to Luke yet.]
You want to know what was really going through my mind? What actually made me kill you? The fact that for once, I was better than you. That someone made me better than my original, that I had more of a purpose then you.
[Luke shook, looking like he was going to drive his sword straight into his throat.]
...but I realize now I didn't need anyone to do that to me to know the truth. That I was better than you all along.
[It looked like it took a supreme amount of effort, but Luke pulled himself away, turning his back on Asch as he slid his sword into its sheath. He took a couple steps down before he paused, and though he didn't turn back around, he addressed his original.]
...you're not me. You will never be me, just as I will never be you. And no matter how jealous I may get of how much stronger or more practiced you are, I'm happy that I will never be your shadow.
[Luke continued to make his way down the stairs, not looking back.]
