The Melody of The Sea is now Silent

Characters: Jasmine and you!
Setting: Dorm floors, cafeteria, and floor twenty-five.
Format: Staring with prose, but I'll match you!
Summary: Jasmine wakes up in the Tower and tries to deal with the fact that everyone she knows and loves is dead.
Warnings: None that I can think of!

When Jasmine woke up and found herself in an unfamiliar room and in an unfamiliar bed, in an unfamiliar nightgown, she was more than a little worried. Who had kidnapped her? Team Rocket? And why? Looking around, she saw a couple of letters on her nightstand, and while they were a bit informative, Jasmine had a very hard time swallowing it. Joto destroyed? Amphy dead? Olivine no more? All her friends and family dead? Jasmine sighed and bit her lip. In such times, she had to be strong. She hadn't gotten to be a Gym Leader by weeping at every cricis that happened along. She had to figure out what exactly was going on here.

So, she got out of bed and opened up her trunk, hoping to find something useful..and did. She quickly changed into her clothes and did up her hair before gathering up the Pokeballs that were in the trunk. So, her friends hadn't died at all. At least..some of them hadn't. Quickly, she opened up one ball and pulled out her Magnemite, which called out to her. Smiling, she patted it on the head. "Don't worry..we'll figure this one out."

With that, she ran out into the hallway, looking for anyone that she could find, her Magnemite trailing behind her. As she ran, she held onto her other Pokeballs. She wanted to pull them out, but Steelix was rather large, and she didn't want to tire Skarmory, even though she was rather strong.

While the bowl of oatmeal the man had handed her was rather unappetizing, Jasmine was trying to make the best of it and eat it as quickly as possible. While she ate, her Magnemite flitted about, and her other two Pokeballs sat on the table. Even though they weren't out, Jasmine wouldn't leave her friends out of a meal.

After going down the stairs for awhile, Jasmine had finally found a floor large enough for Steelix. Smiling, she released the large Pokemon, and it called out rather loudly as it was let out. "Sorry..this place is a bit smaller than home." In response, it lowered it's head and Jasmine, smiling, patted the large Pokemon on the head. They were made out of Steel and tough, but that didn't mean she had to be tough when she didn't have to be. After all, they were her friends.

Zett was being buffeted by the rocks, but at least he didn't feel irresponsible. Definitely a step up.

Dodging a Sandstorm was impossible, so Zett just focused on trying to keep the dirt out of his eyes. "Thanks."

Jasmine still wasn't quite used to Tower life, but she did think that it would have been horrible if the trees were felled.

"You're welcome! Thank you..for telling me." As she spoke, Steelix kept the storm up.

[He wasn't very good at aiming with an arm shielding his eyes, but Steelix wasn't very good at dodging either. Zett sent another bolt of dark magic at him.]

[Sadly, when you were a lizard-like creature made out of steel, you tended to not be very good at dodging small things. Especially if you were making a sandstorm at the same time. Steelix growled in pain again as the magic connected with his side, but as he kept up the sandstorm, he picked up a large rock in his mouth and tossed it at Zett.]

[Zett tried to dodge out of the way of that, and it clipped his side. He winced in pain, but still sent another bolt of magic out from his fingertips.]

[As Steelix sent out the last bits of the sandstorm, the magic flew at him..towards his face. Quickly lowering his head, Steelix dodged the magic. At the dodge, Jasmine smiled.]

Good job! Finish him off with another iron!

[Which prompted Steelix to use its tail as a club once more, and he flung it at Zett with all his might.]

[Unfortunately, with the sandstorm ending, Zett was more free to dodge, and Steelix's tail would end up propelling him right past Zett.]

[Well, Jasmine would have loved to try another Screech, it was now Zett's turn to act. Jasmine liked battling, and it would be wrong to be unfair in any of them, even if this one was against a person. So she waited for Zett's next move.]

[Zett rarely ever used this one, but...

A sharp spike of earth would come up from underneath Steelix's belly.]

[While the earth wouldn't go through Steelix completely, since he was made of metal, it would stab him and cause him to cry out in pain. This was too much for him, and as he lied down, Jasmine tossed his Pokeball at him, sealing him away.]

It's alright..you did well..

[As she consoled the sealed 'mon, she pulled out another Pokeball and released Skarmory, who woke up with a cry, locking on to the person with green hair.]

Fly!

[With that command, Skarmory would fly up high and wait, preparing itself to attack.]

[Zett aims his next bolt of lightning upwards towards Skarmory, though it'll be a lot easier to dodge from such a distance.]

[Thankfully, the metallic bird was able to dodge the bolt of lightning and dove down towards Zett, intending to strike him. If he didn't dodge, the metal beak would do quite a bit of damage.]

[Zett was still slowed down from Steelix's attacks, and the attack sends him skidding backwards and down on one knee. Before he gets up, he sends another electrical strike towards Skarmory at close range.]

[While Skarmory tried to fly away before the lightning hit, it did manage to hit her wing, which made her cry out in pain. Metal and electricity did not mix. Jasmine, not wanting her friend to get hurt again, yelled out another command.]

Supersonic!

[At that, Skarmory landed on the ground and flapped its wings, sending white energy rings toward Zett. If those hit him, his perception of reality would become skewed, and he would also hurt himself occasionally.]

[Yeah, basically screw confusion. Dizzied by the rings, Zett set more electricity at what he thought was Skarmory... aaaand was actually Jasmine.

It's your fault for confusing him :| ]

[Jasmine, not really expecting to get hit, since that hadn't happened in battles before, took the full blast of electricity. She cried out in pain as she fell to her knees, feeling the burn and sting that came with lightning.]

[...That didn't sound like Skarmory.]

Oops?

[Zett approached her, still unsteady on his feet.]

[Skarmory, worried about its trainer, flew over to Jasmine, putting its cold head on her shoulder. While that helped, Jasmine was still in quite a bit of pain. However, she patted Skarmory's head and managed to stand up, even though she was still rather shaky. Just because she always tried to be Steel didn't mean that she hurt. There were still some marks on her back and dress.]

..Wing attack! Now!

[Skarmory, who had moved its head off Jasmine's shoulder, cried out and flew towards Zett again. If he didn't get out of the way, those metallic wings would beat him up.]

[That finally did it. Still confused, and still hurting from Steelix's onslaught, Zett fell over backwards.]

Ooooooooow cripes.

[While Skarmory stopped smacking him, Jasmine thought she should see if he was actually giving up..before getting them both to a clinic.]

Do..you give up?

I give up, owwwww... [He rubs his head, trying to soothe it.]

Oh..are you okay? I..think I saw a clinic in here. If you want..we could both go..

Yeah... Sorry about attacking you, I thought you were your bird.

It's..okay. You were confused..so I can see why that would..have happened.
