Tear's Big Project, Day 1
Characters: Tear Grants and YOU
Setting: The meadow on Floor 25
Format: Starting action, reply as you wish.
Summary: This is the first of the two days for Tear's offer of training in magic. There will be closed parts for certain people and a few open sections.
Warnings: Magic, fighting, Luke and Asch in the same area with pointy things, possible explosions?
[Tear made her way to the meadow thirty minutes early, a book in her hand as she made that way. She looked around at the empty space and grimaced. Why she'd thought this was a good idea, she'd never know, but she was determined to see if she could get the residents of this Tower of Horror to arm themselves in light of the recent problems with the administration.]
Closed for Luke fon Fabre (OU)
[If the redhead looked carefully enough, he'd see the brunette looking off into the distance at the flowers as she waited for the others to gather.]
Closed for Asch the Bloody, Sheba and Xion
[She'd decided to work on the redheads away from one another, but any friends they brought were fine. She'd expected to see the blond after their exchange on the network.
Closed for V/V, AU Link and Zelda
[She couldn't wait to introduce her two new friends to one another. Link had training with bows and swords. Between those, Tear was sure that V/V would find something she could use.]
Open Section for Magic Training
[This was perhaps the most anxious part of the entire ordeal—trying to figure out how the magics of so many worlds worked and to see if those interested could actually learn to use the Seventh Fonon, or if she was going to be spending her night telling them all how to do battle first aid.
Only time would tell, right?]
Open Section for Fighting Training
[As opposed to the magic training, this, this she had no issue with. She was a proficient with her staffs, maces and knives. Besides, she'd learned as a child that anything could be used as a weapon in times of need. And with the many sword wielders as she'd met since coming to the tower, she knew that this would be fine!]

[She nods her head.]
So many words, for the same concept - it's fascinating, really...

[She was no scholar, but she had spent enough time in the library to make her appear to be. However, she focused on what made the most sense and managed a few fictional novels before the books disappeared from her room and found it's way into the library.]

It's really not any different than the elements I work with, then. I'd say that everything is made up of some combination of elemental essences, but the wording doesn't matter at all. It's all in how they're used. Your fonons and my elements really aren't much different, at their core.
...you know, you'd probably be a natural at the kind of spellcrafting I did a few minutes ago, with a little bit of guidance. I just wish I could teach the flying part, but that's something that I don't know how to teach - I've always been able to do it. Maybe I can get an acquaintance of mine to enchant something for you to give you the ability, but normally, flying can't be taught, I'm afraid. It either comes naturally or you have to have some kind of magic tool that lets you fly. Well, no, maybe if the shrine maiden who has control over the wind were here, she could teach you to control the winds enough to get you in the air, but she's kind of an airhead, so I don't know if she'd really - oh, no, I'm getting off track.
[That's actually a bit of a laugh - Patchouli isn't making fun of Tear at all. She actually means what she's just said. It doesn't happen often at all from her, and it's really cute when it does. But she's back to being serious a moment later.]
The question, then: on Auldrant, how do you manipulate these fonons?
no subject
Something that she hopes to remedy.]
The Planet Storm facilitates access to the six fon belts that surround Auldrant, thus allowing fonists to use Artes for various things. Perhaps you'd like a practical demonstration of my own powers, yes? Since I am capable of doing more than just healing.

Planet Storm? Interesting...hearing things like this makes me wish my own world weren't behind a barrier so that I could see such things myself. Yes, please, I'd love to see a demonstration.

However, she does take a moment to consider her various Artes before deciding that Grand Cross would probably be nice, but that Eclair de Larmes is probably the best choice, especially if she can get a fully charged Light FoF.
Taking a deep breath, she begins to channel the sixth Fonon, a huge circle gathering under her feet as she does so before casting the spell.] ECLAIR DE LARMES! [No sooner do the shards of light begin to fall from the sky before she is casting again, aiming for the circle of pale yellow light underneath where they landed. She let the second Arte go, watching the fire-laced shards join the light-based ones with a bit of a satisfied smile.]
That is just one Arte that I can use.

That's really impressive, I have to say - the technique's beautiful in and of itself. Which of your fonons were involved in that?

The first attack, Elcair de Larmes, is light based. Light is the Sixth Fonon. However, there is a 50% chance of it creating a full light-based Field of Fonons—the yellowish circle on the ground where the Arte landed. Casting the same Arte on top of it changes the way the Arte works. Instead of light, it channels Efreet—the third fonon—and makes it fire-based instead.
