Characters: Alucard, and OPEN
Setting: Around the tower at night
Format: Starting prose, can do either
Summary: Alucard goes hunting for the boogeyman.
Warnings: Character death is possible.
Superstitions were one of those funny things. What many people in the tower would consider absolutely false based on their own experiences in their worlds, there were other worlds where they were absolutely real. Wraiths and succubi were enemies that he had fought and killed. Fellow vampires had fallen dead at his feet, and he had succeeded in at least weakening Dracula before he had found himself kidnapped inside the tower. It was with that confidence and that strength that Alucard found himself taking the writing he had seen on a wall seriously.
The man was not the sort to take a rumor as fact, not normally, but something about the message had gripped him with a desire to hunt down this boogeyman. He had his weapon by his side, gripping it rather roughly as he started his search for potential allies to hunt down the creature with him. Just because he didn't know what he was looking for didn't mean that he was going to stand idly by. Whatever it was that he was going to be fighting, Alucard had a feeling that he would need some sort of support. He wasn't the sort of person who was used to fighting in a large group, or even with one other person-- he was a loner, a knight that was used to doing missions alone.
But this? This was important enough for him to seek out other soldiers who could help the hunt end in success.

The vampire spotted a familiar, pale figure and turned to look at him. "Well, well..." He whispered.

He didn't quite want to admit that he had no idea what he was looking for. Not even the tiniest bit of description to go with wasn't something that had stopped him before. "Something called a boogeyman." He didn't have any reason to believe that it would be any different than anything else he had killed before.

"I suppose the chances of it being a flesh and blood creature are rather slim," he said darkly. "Do you wish to join me?"

"If you will have me," The vampire replied. He had no plans for tonight.

He didn't know much about his fellow vampire's past, but he had a feeling that their worlds were similar enough when it came to creatures that they fought that he would know how to handle himself. "Do you have a weapon?" he asked, curious. Hopefully he did. There was no telling what other creatures they could run into, after all.

"Does the workshop have a supply of blades?"

"What sort of magic do you know?" he asked, hoping at the very least that it could be used to fight. He was also aware of the fact that they couldn't very well stay idle here too long, even if the night was currently still.

"We can both fight, at least," he said thoughtfully. The idea of fire magic wouldn't occur to him, being incredibly adverse to it himself.

To him, it wasn't even the matter of protecting the tower-- there was some primal thrill about hunting and killing a creature. Something that both alarmed him and made him long for success.

"Well then, shall we?"

With just the two of them, he didn't want to end up in a small enclosed space, or a space where they could be surrounded. It had to be somewhere they could take on whatever came their way.

Their worlds couldn't be too different from each other.

"Oblivion is a land of demons?" he ventured.
no subject
"Daedra, actually," The vampire replied. "Though I suppose they are comparable to demons, based on various works of literature I have read here. Oblivion is divided into different planes, each with its own ruler."
no subject
"Rulers of different planes?" he repeated, curious. "What sorts of planes?" He couldn't help but thing of many different lands filled with fire or ice.
