001. the first strike

Characters: Hibari Kyoya & Open.
Setting: Room 1-06, Cafeteria, Floor 32, Floor 53.
Format: Starting with brackets, but I will match.
Summary: Exploring the tower as a newcomer.
Warnings: Potentially irritated Hibari?

Room 1-06

[That was one hell of a sketchy letter. Hibari didn't believe an ounce of it. In fact, he crumpled the letter up in his hands and flawlessly tossed it into a waste basket beside his bed. On second thought, the letter was, perhaps, the only hint he had about the fate of his world, of Namimori. He grumbled to himself as he reached back over the side of the bed to retrieve the letter. He flattened it out on his knee, folded it neatly, and then slipped the letter into his pocket. Surely there were others at this tower whom he was familiar with?

A soft, muffled chirping coming from the inside of the chest at the foot of his bed catches his attention. He quickly lifts the cover, and a yellow canary flutters out, perching on his shoulder. He rubs the top of the bird's head, silently trying to make sense of the entire situation. If anything, the other people who slept in this room were strangers. He hated strangers.]

Cafeteria

[He's never eaten oatmeal in his life before. It's sticky and gooey and tastes like cardboard. He gives it an experimental stir with the spoon. Still, he isn't very keen on vomiting, so he takes a small lick off the spoon. Just looking at the light brown mess in his bowl is enough to make him lose his appetite. He wonders if he has to actually finish the entire bowl, or perhaps, he could just slide it over to his canary companion. Hibird didn't seem to mind the taste, anyways.]

Floor 53

[For a moment, the dusty classroom troubles Hibari. On the other hand, it did not resemble any classroom that he had sat at a desk in during the past. He sets a single overturned desk upright and dusts the top of it off with a single finger. A thick layer of gray cakes it. He wipes his hands on his pants as he tugs a bit on the red Namimori Disciplinary Committee armband. This classroom doesn't resemble any that he's seen before, and yet, it makes him miss his Namimori even more. Alternatively, he would rather keel over and die than admit this to anyone. Good thing he's alone or not.]

Floor 62

[Nothing added up in this tower. An entire shoreline had no business in an indoor building. The tower did not appear to be bound by any laws of physics whatsoever. His eyes narrowed at the horizon line. It didn't appear to be blockaded by anything, but Hibari knew better than to swim all the way out there. Wasn't worth the trouble of getting wet, either. He lifted a smooth pebble from the shore and gave it a toss, watching it bounce eight times before plunging into the water.]

That stuff is gross, isn't it?

[Lucifel seems to appear out of nowhere with his own share of food, taking a seat opposite of him.]

I was glad when I had finished my first bowl and never had to eat it again. The only thing that comes close to it in taste are the nutrition bars.
brbtalkingtogod: (Bandai? God wants you to make figures.)

[Odd isn't it, that Lucifel had appeared in the blink of an eye... or with the flick of a pair of fingers.]

As horrible as it tastes, it is edible. Everything else won't be if you don't finish this.
brbtalkingtogod: (Hey. It's me.)

I have. And you're new here, obviously.

[And he knows that face. He made the same face when he had to eat the oatmeal for the first time and had to be encouraged by someone else to continue eating.]
