Bad guys get together

Characters: Sephiroth and Ganonforf and then Nesir and Ganondorf
Setting: In and around the dorms
Format: Pick your poison
Summary: While Nesir is in her dead world Sephiroth and Ganondorf have a conversation, then when she returns Nesir and Ganondorf have a conversation. Nesir and Sephiroth never have a conversation.

Pretty much a plot wrapping catch all thread thing.

Warnings: General evil guy warnings and mentions of monster things

Nesir had only been home once before but the second time was no easier. It was even worse because of what she knew now, of her not being real, of her soul being the only survivor of this destruction.

Unlike last time she didn't wander, she just took out her anger on all she could see, the ruins of the temple, the gardens where she and Lotte had walked, the training yards, the town in the mountains.

She wondered if this body was real, or another illusion. If Ganondorf's plan would work at all.

And then as suddenly as she was gone she was back. In her bed in the tower, a prisoner once more.

[It's late afternoon. Sephiroth has been spending a great deal of effort re-adjusting from the forced nocturnal-ism he'd willed himself through on account of Ruana's monster event last month. He wasn't ever one for going to sleep at a decent hour regardless, but it's entirely a different thing to have been staying up all night and into the morning as he had been doing.

What doesn't help is all the split-second Glamour glitches going on. Upon the very cusp of consciousness, or even slumber, a flash of his cot - as it really was, and the knowledge of what he was lying in, was enough to set his mind again into full awareness. Half-disgusted, and reminded too sharply of their state of existence here. Restless nights led into exhausted mornings.

He's been awake for a few hours this afternoon, though has kept himself mostly to his own Dormitory floor. However he doesn't need the food though, his body was fed it during the last month to compensate some for the energy he was spending in hunting - it would take time for Sephiroth to return to his only-eat-when-it-suits-him state of being, and besides at least it wasn't nutrition bars anymore. He's even got a coupon for the restaurant now, should the mood take him. However unreal it really all is.

He waits for the elevator to arrive to the 1st Dormitory floor, arms relaxed at his side though as always casting a cautionary look around every now and again. Sephiroth must never let his guard down again.]

[ As the elevator would reach the 1st Dormitory floor and open up, Sephiroth would be able to see the King of Evil passing by, a particularly annoyed and tired expression on his visage. These last days hadn't been particularly exciting and to prepare the next infiltration required some work.

Well, to see Sephiroth taking the elevator was enjoyable at least. There's nothing like being reminded that others need to walk and take the elevator to make his day brighter.

He nodded at Sephiroth upon spotting him however, a simple yet formal nod as he usually did. ]

Sephiroth.

[ Nothing much to say... Even though he had a matter to settle with him. Of course, he didn't think Sephiroth had betrayed their cause for Pandora. If only because he knew the likes of Zelda wouldn't allow Sephiroth amongst them. Yet what Nesir had told him was annoying. They didn't need to fight amongst themselves, not yet. ]

... Would you have a minute?

Ganondorf.

[It's becoming somewhat of a formal exchange between these two isn't it? In the place of the more-commonly-used 'Hello' others might greet each other with. It was satisfying to see though, that Sephiroth is not the only one that could be wearing an exhausted-looking expression, not that he is. He's much too self-controlling to allow his tiredness to shine through into his expression though.

He was just about to step into the elevator when Ganondorf's voice at his back made him pause and look back over an armored shoulder. He doesn't allow himself to feel intimidated by his could-be 'comrade', though at the same time it wouldn't have been hard for anyone within their vicious 'alliance' to have spun something aimed to cripple their cooperation. He knows already his reputation with Nesir is in pieces, he hadn't much appreciated her ~~lucky~~ knife in the back, either.

A moment later the silver-haired one turns back around to face Ganondorf as the elevator doors close. He casts one of those supervisory-unit monitoring glances past Ganondorf for a moment.]

I could have a few to spare.

[ He nodded when Sephiroth spoke, perfect. Not that he really wanted to speak. In fact he hated having to go through such exercise, but to finally take over the tower required some sacrifices. ]

Let's go to the core of the matter then.

[ No need to waste time. ]

I have spoken with Nesir. [If you could call that speaking, more like heard things and connected the dots together. Wasn't too hard given how obvious the animosity between the two had been during the meeting.] I am not one to care for what happens here. However, I believe here we have one case worthy of some clarifications.

[ He needed the evil alliance to be in a properly working state to reach his goal and he just couldn't let things go haywire now. Thankfully, everyone who was part of this so called 'alliance' was in pretty much for the same reason, and he counted on that to maintain a semblance of unity. ]

[Nesir...

That little brat. But of course she wouldn't be content enough just to have managed to kill him, but now she intended to make his stay here awkward as well. How immature, ratting him out to Ganondorf. Sephiroth shouldn't have expected anything more though, she is only human and Ganondorf does make a legitimate power to hide behind.

Carefully making sure his face remained blank of emotion, Sephiroth replies.]

I'm sure she told you all sorts of stories. [It would be equally immature to point the 'traitor' finger at her so boldly, but damn it was tempting.] If she wants to drag out this hatred post-mortis then that's her problem. I'm sure you understand I have no interest in the petty concerns of a mortal girl.

I do.

[ Sephiroth may notice a very slight smile on Ganondorf's face at the mention of dragging out the hatred post-mortis. Considering what Ganondorf is, he finds the focus on hatred a very good thing, but details he quickly goes back to his neutral face. ]

However, I have interest in the 'cohesion' of our alliance. [Before clarifying--] Let's face it, the only reason we work together is because we have little choice in the matter. I doubt many amongst us enjoy teamwork, I for one certainly do not.

[ And in fact he has no doubt he'll have to kill Sephiroth eventually if they do take over, especially if he indeed is a God as he pretends. Not that he feels bad about it, he's fairly certain Sephiroth would reserve him the same fate would he be to win. He paused before continuing. ]

Why her? It's not like if there is no choice of people here to play with really, people not allied to our cause.

[ And most them wouldn't help them in their plots, unlike Nesir who is fully willing to help. Also most of them are actually despicable protags and somewhat more satisfying to manipulate, at least in Ganondorf's opinion. ]

You elevate her to a level of such importance, and I do not trust your judgment. She is as human as the rest of them and deserves to be treated as nothing more.

[Sephiroth is immediately disgusted at the idea of Ganondorf even defending Nesir and he is certainly bold enough not to hold that back from his expression. He's always seen the troll-king as closer to his equal than anyone else in the Tower, but he made bad choices all the time. He wasn't about to rub salt in the old Ryoji-wound and mention it outright but the intent was clearly there.]

So blind to the apparent worth of one human girl. She has already betrayed you, in her naivety. You can expect nothing more from her species. [The last word is nearly spat out. Sephiroth isn't stupid enough to lose his temper at Ganondorf but this conversation has displeased him from the outset. Like it or not, he hadn't won that fight. It had been a lucky draw, at best.]

[ He'll skip the part about not trusting his judgement, that didn't surprise him. However Ganondorf may have found a contender for the title of biggest hypocrite. He wouldn't feel like facepalming so much at Sephiroth's disdain of humans if Sephiroth himself didn't look that much like a human. Would he actually be part human, that wouldn't surprise Ganon in the lesser. Ah, the joy of hypocrisy. A privilege reserved to few. ]

This is very true, she is as human as the rest of them. In my homeworld, I probably would not even have noticed her, or in the best of case I would have infused her with powers before anything.

[ Thing he actually seriously considered to do in the tower now, this way she would no longer be a normal human, but then came the problem that it would all be glamour anyway. ]

But here, this does not matter. Would the glamour system be to go down permanently, what would exactly be the difference between her lack of power and ours? [He paused before continuing, speaking very calmly the entire time.] She is only human, but she is ready to do whatever we want, to fight the administrators and accomplish our purposes. Willingly. You've been in the tower for a while now, you know as well as I that such people are barely non-existent here.

[ As far as Ganondorf was concerned she would end up being useful before the end, even if only as decoy or cannon-fodder. Also she is one of the few people whom he was convinced would backstab him if they ever were to kill the administrators. ]

[Sephiroth's face reset itself a few levels of calm as Ganondorf continued the lecture. It rests on a more guarded expression, and he does even nod in agreement with Ganondorf about the lack of those here that would follow them without so many questions.]

Powers or no powers, it doesn't matter. There are plenty of humans with powers Ganondorf. I refer more to their nature, in particular how they are so prone to abandoning all common sense and logic in the pursuit of what they so wrongly believe is the 'right' thing to do. They are an inferior race and it's only natural for them to be so flawed - precautions must be taken around them, and they must always know their place.

I understand that she is useful to yo- us. Which is why I tolerate her presence at all, it's not my fault she chooses to hold a grudge.

[Sephiroth smirks then, even if he had lost the fight the fact that Nesir still didn't drop the whole thing was in itself a testament to his power that he'd held for just a few moments over her. She would always be reminded, every time that she looked at him.]

You know she's been liaising with Ryoji, no doubt? [Time to cut to the chase. Sephiroth had kept very tight-lipped about his surveillance of that particular would-be traitor which had turned into an experiment.]

[ For a moment, Ganondorf had though Nesir had departed the tower for good. It wouldn't have been the first time this place took a good ally from, such as Ghirahim before. ...Well, 'good' ally. She was loyal alright, but as far as competency was concerned he had much doubts. Her light-speed defeat against the monsters a couple weeks ago had left him with a bitter taste.

And if only it had been the only thing...

The situation being the mess they all knew however, maybe he would let this all slide. Maybe.

The only certainty was that he would be standing next to Nesir's room, waiting by the door for her to exit her dorm. Now that he was feeling her presence back in the tower, he would have a much needed conversation with her. He didn't like to wait for people, but he had a feeling Nesir may have been avoiding him purposefully following her failure. ]

[When Nesir realised there was someone outside of her room she exited with daggers, one's that she sheathed once she realised it was Ganondorf.

Not that Ganondorf wasn't a threat, he was just not a threat she would fight. He was right in that she had been avoiding him and now she averted her eyes, not sure how to face him. Angry at herself for failing him twice and angrier at the situation that caused her to do so.] You could have been knocking you do be knowing.

I could have.

[ He looked at her the entire time. The way she would react was more important to him than what excuse she could come up with. ]

Speaking of which, you could have avoided... Avoiding me.

[ Before being sent back to her homeworld, needless to say. But he was just curious to see what she had to say. She may not have had any particular abilities, but he still would judge her on willpower. ]

[She draws herself up to her full height which is so incredibly impressive as she probably comes up to Ganondorf's waist.] I could have been.

[She shrugged] Did you be needing me? [She knows exactly what this about, she had known there would be consequences for her failures.]

Right now I do not need you. What concerns me is how reliable you will be when I shall need you.

[ He paused. ]

First Ryoji, then the monsters...

[ He winced a bit at the mentions of these events. If only she knew what a bad boss he was back home. Long ago, he had banned one of his own creations to the void between dimensions for less than that. Thankfully, he was wiser now and it's not like he could do that anyway ]

Ryoji I can understand given the circumstances but as far as the monsters are concerned-- Do you have anything to say about that?

[She set her jaw, inwardly flinching at the words. Nesir hated failing, hated feeling useless. Though both these failures had been very much out of her control she couldn't pass on the blame to anyone else. They were her own fault, she could have been faster, smarter, fought harder against control.]

I do no be knowing what did be happening, it did be biting me and I did no be wanting to be fighting anymore. [She pulled a face] You do be knowing that that did no be being my choice.

It is not the matter. You allowed the creature to bite you, in fact it bite you before you even started fighting. You have been a terrible fighter, slow and inefficient. If the monsters had not killed you I may have done it myself.

[ It's hard to say whether he is being serious about this or just plain sarcastic. ]

Would it have been a real situation, now you would be dead. Obviously you're allowed to live on in this tower.

[ Again it's hard to say whether or not he thinks that's a good thing she's still alive. Probably a good thing. ]

Now Sephiroth appears to think you are worth absolutely nothing and should be left to rot like every other powerless humans in this tower. [Mentioning him sounds like the better way to wake up her competitive instincts. Besides he's defended her against Sephiroth and he'd hate for Sephiroth come out as right.] And I have to say, you're well headed to prove him right. Unless to you this sounds satisfying, you better start seriously working on proving him wrong.

[Her eyes blazed but she somehow managed to look contrite despite the anger blazing underneath.

At the mention of Sephiroth the anger became more apparant] He would be saying that. Like he do be any better than me just because he do be having powers that do be fake anyways.

[Her mouth snapped shut as she remembered she was supposed to be showing she was ashamed of failing] It will no be happening again. I will be training harder.
