[For a long time Ion doesn't respond, as if he didn't hear any of the words she's said to him. But slowly, through haphazard sobbing and shaking, he seems to pull himself together. He becomes still as he lies clutched tightly against her body, like a small animal that's gone into shock.
But eventually Ion does speak--though it's more of a murmur.]
