New ways of doing things [Open]

Characters: Romeo and you!
Setting: Lots of places! (Before final event stage)
Format: I'm starting in Prose but take your pick and I'll match!
Summary:Romeo has finally got the hang of his deer legs! Stairs are still an issue! He is also going to try and swim.
Warnings: Mentions of surgery/ results of surgery

It had been a long time now since the bad people had kept Romeo in a cage and gave him these deer legs and antlers. Romeo had tried his best to forget that bad time, he knew they had to fight the bad people but miss France had told him to concentrate on being well again and so he had. He had tried to do things as normally as possible even if things were harder now, he didn't have any hands and had to pick things up in his teeth, it took him a long time to learn to walk again.

He knew his appearance scared some people as well, his legs and arms both pointed downwards like a deer, they were a little longer than they had been and instead of hands and feet he had four hooves. The skin hadn't grown though so the bottoms of his legs and his hooves were exposed bone. His mouth and nose had also grown longer and looked like a deers, again where the skin hadn't grown to cover it his mouth and nose were just bone. On top of his head were enormous antlers. Perhaps not too enormous on an average sized deer but Romeo was still small, so they looked huge.

Still he had even mostly got used to the weight of them now and he could almost walk perfectly. He was doing his best to concentrate on keeping his spirits up!

A) (The cafeteria) Getting food was always a problem, he couldn't hold a tray in his mouth without spilling everything so he had to make lots of journeys to and fro his table to gather food. He had quickly learnt that eating anything but fruit and vegetables gave him a sore stomach so today he was taking two apples and a bowl of salad. The salad was the hardest, he kept spilling and it was awkward to hold. Water also was always difficult and the first cup he spillt all over him trying to pick it up.

B) (Floor twenty) This was the biggest space with nothing to bump into that Romeo could find except the forest and he didn't want to go back there! He dropped the hoverboard in the centre, because he still needed it for going up stairs, and began to run. He fell a lot of times but it was still fun. He made sure not to go too near the edges though, he was not steady enough yet not to fall off!

C) (Swimming!) Romeo stared at the water in trepidation. He was a really good swimmer, he had been able to swim for as long as he could remember, but knowing his difficulty walking he was a little scared of trying to swim like this. Still he couldn't imagine never being able to swim again so he entered the water slowly, careful at first not to go out of his depth.

Not scared just... disturbed. This was just another reminder to him that Erik had been right. And his friend would be more than willing to tell him so when he wasn't being effected by this as well.

And he could feel that sadness, the poor boy felt worse for the animal than himself no doubt.

"I'm sorry to hear that, on both accounts." Honestly he wasn't sure what to say to any of this, so he'll carefully wheel closer and motion to the food and drink.

"Would you like a little help?"
groovy_mutation: (The outlook is bleak.)

"Of course. Do you need help drinking it?" He could hold it for him while he drank. Help him eat. Whatever he needed, he wanted to help. Things like this he could do, and he would try to do more. He'd try and talk to the people who ran this place again. The nice front he'd gotten before... all just a lie, wasn't it?

At Romeo's question he'll shake his head. "This happened before the Tower, but I'm alright." Better than the boy was. And technically someone had hurt him, he just didn't want to get into it.
groovy_mutation: (And we have time still to smile.)

"No, not too much trouble at all." The smile the boy gave was some what creepy considering he sort of had a deer face going on, but still, it was amazing he would smile in his situation. A strong boy he was, clearly. Charles will smile back, feeling the need to as he holds the cup as needed.

"And please, call me Charles." Because sir made him feel old. Then again so did professor, but that was another matter.

"It doesn't hurt, I cannot feel my legs at all. So no worries of that." Which also meant he had to be careful and watch out for when he did hurt himself below his waist, since he wouldn't be able to feel it. He doesn't know how many times he's barked his legs and feet against things getting used to this wheelchair. He had bruises to prove it.
groovy_mutation: (I suppose a bit more wouldn't hurt.)

"You are very welcome, young man." He's more than happy to help out, even for something that seems so little and simple like this. He was sure it wasn't for the boy.

"While it should hurt and I know it should I cannot feel it because the nerves in my legs no longer respond to the rest of my body. You could say they are broken, and cannot be fixed at this current time." Or ever perhaps. But who knew, Hank was a brilliant mind, he may be able to figure something out some day. And he doesn't mind talking to Romeo about it, he's genuinely curious he can easily tell that, and really with what has happened to the boy he can see why he'd ask such questions.

"To keep it simple, they speak with the brain to tell your body how to move and feel. If there is damage to the nerves one can feel less pain to no pain in limbs or their limbs will stop responding all together." He could go much more in depth, but really he hoped he wouldn't have to. Explaining things like this in depth got messy.

"To give an example, it would be like... a car. If someone cut the wires to the steering, then there would be nothing to tell the car which way to go when you turned the steering wheel. No connection between the steering wheel and the wheels of your car." And he'll pause for a moment, to let it sink in, "Does that make any sense?"
groovy_mutation: stated. (Whelp today is... okay?)

He didn't know what a car was? Huh, he had to wonder what time he was from... or maybe the boy was from another world where there were no cars? All things to ponder, not that he couldn't look into his mind and find out. But really he'd much rather hear it from Romeo himself. So he'll not pry into his mind.

"A car is a large metal ah... box, that has four wheels on it and you can ride it places. It is much easier than walking or running, and quicker. You can also ride with more than one person, or bring things with you." The visual he must be giving Romeo now.

"It's similar in use to a carriage, but there are no horses to pull it. Using a liquid called gas, you power it and it moves on it's own." Such an idea must absolutely blow this boy's mind. If not be a confusing notion. Not pulled by man power or horses? How is that possible, right?
