Hacking Punishment
Characters: those who participated in the hacking plot
Setting: the Tower; nighttime
Format: any
Summary: You can't go digging without a cave-in or two.
Warnings: monsters
Note: This post will not be NPCed--please play your own monsters!
[It seems almost as if they got away with their scheme. The day passes without incident, and soon night falls just as innocently. But then, no matter where they are, those who participated in either the distraction or the hacking portions of the ploy will find a floating, film-like computer screen in front of their faces. Riki stares back at them, and he looks annoyed.]
If you're gonna mess with my things, you'll get punished by me no matter whose turn it is. Feel lucky the kid wants me to go easy on you.
[All of the characters will grow dizzy and black out. They awaken on the first floor--the cafeteria. All their abilities, while not gone completely, have been severely dampened and are much more exhausting to use than normal. They cannot teleport, flash step, or otherwise travel great distances using their abilities at all. A strange, blinking light has been attached to all of their collars and cannot be removed.
They will now attract monsters--mostly uncommon and rare ones--to their location. No electronics work for them--the elevators refuse to open and will not move while they are near, even if they try to get someone else to aid them, and the terminals will not turn on and let them call for help.
The only way to get out alive will be to climb up through one hundred and one floors to the dormitory levels, where they will be safe in their rooms. Good luck.]

The invisible presence that drifts down the staircase and makes a beeline for where she's lost in thought over her crutch is laden with darkness, tainted with loathing and such nastiness, but the voice that speaks when it comes to a stop next to Asako is male, teenager-y; ]
Oi, miss! [ Excellent greeting, Avenger! ]

Ah, so close. Looks like this one's another failure now that the blade she was using is a little too deep into the wood dowel. She proceeds to give Avenger a Look, somewhere between annoyance and...well, annoyance. The classic look of "this better be good."]
... Yes? What's going on?
no subject
Master said to find ya', and get down to the first floor. [ Then he materializes in view and glances down at the wooden crutch she just ruined with that blade Asako was using, with a raised eyebrow. ] So hurry up. Can you walk fast?
no subject
[oops. That is a fingersnap of summoning Garuda and Norn, and that is also a Holy Dance charging as she stands up, bracing herself against the table.
(It's pretty obvious at this point that she's only standing on one foot, Avenger.)]
First, I don't know you, and I don't know who your "Master" is. Please explain.
[... GJ Naoya.]
no subject
You sent him to track down a paranoid, injured girl when, judging from her reaction, had literally no clue of their arrangement, for crying out loud? When she is armed with strange, assumedly powerful beasts she can summon at will?
Just for that, Avenger will be taking extra prana from you and burning it up pointlessly. You useless ass.
Avenger sighs and covers his face with one hand, not bothering to do more than take a few steps backward and brace himself for a fight. If she attacks, he will just save his own hide by dematerializing. ]
It's your fuckin' cousin, Naoya. We have a contract. Calm down, geez.
no subject
[And just like that, the spell charge is gone - though the demons stay, of course. Suddenly, she's very calm, the cold rage replaced by some amount of sarcasm, as though what Avenger just said explained everything.
And honestly, it did.]
Why am I not surprised? All right, all right. [This is said as she grabs her crutch and signals Garuda to pick her up. She's small enough and light enough that it'll work, too.] First floor, you said? Sheesh. Did he forget that doing stupid and reckless things is my job, again?
no subject
[ Avenger straightens up a tad and watches blandly as Asako gets picked up by one of her strange beasts for her ride. ]
Yes, yes, you have functioning ears. Unlike your leg. Let's get going. [ He turns on his heel and starts for the staircase, not pausing to see if her demons can move as fast as he can. ] Wouldn't tell me what the hell kind of stupidity he got himself into this time either, so I dunno.
no subject
[It's cool, Avenger, her demons are actually pretty quick. It's why she has 'em. That comment about her leg, though, that just makes her roll her eyes.] Har har. Very funny. Thank one of the laughing monsters for that one.
He didn't say anything? Oh look, I am so completely shocked, because Naoya would never withhold vital information from anyone. It is actually quite concerning.
[The sarcasm is strong with this one.]
no subject
[ That comment is given right away on the topic of Naoya, as they go down the staircase and start moving downwards towards the first floor. At Asako's reply, he smirks. The pinnacle of wit, truly. ] Oh, one of those small fry? I had to deal with one of the growling monsters myself. It took an arm.
[ Yes, he can roll with sarcasm because that's how Avenger is feeling in regards to Naoya at the moment. ]
A real winner, that guy. Of course, he never conceals important know-how or anything, since Naoya's such an open and honest man. It is indeed awfully shocking he consider doing otherwise. [ lmao ]
no subject
[That comment about the arm gets a smirk from her in return.] They go for the limbs, eh..What, were they teething or something?
[All the sarcasm, all the time.]
Why, the world itself may be ending, for such a thing to happen. Oh, wait...
no subject
[ Sarcasm.
Sarcasm.
Sarcasm. ]
You're a little slow when it comes with the post-apocalypic humor there, huh?
no subject
I'm thinking that idiot is grounded once this is over, though. He's officially lost his "responsible older brother" status.
[Also it'd be amusing.]
no subject
Ah, that would serve Master right in this. Hm, once we've dragged out of this mess... Eheh, he had "responsible older brother" status to begin with?
[ Avenger enjoyed humiliating his contractors, and it would be strange if the urge to do so to Naoya didn't rise up in him when provided with the chance. ]
