He has noticed that the lighting seems to be playing tricks on his vision as they have proceeded downwards but Sephiroth doesn't think too much to it, it could just be the lights and not to mention a side effect of his focusing his attention away from his injuries. Besides, considering where they are, he assumes it would only have been a matter of time before the Tower itself started playing tricks...
