Summon 1 | Welcome to Animus!
Characters: Sephira and YOU!
Setting: Room 1-15, Floor 99 (Crystal cave floor), Cafeteria
Format: Starting in brackets, will follow you.
Summary: Sephira gets the typical newbie runaround... Aside from a stop at the crystal cave on her way down to breakfast.
Warnings: None?
Room 1-15
[Sephira awoke in a room that certainly didn't look like it was in SPRI's residential section. When the sleep paralysis wore off, she sprang up with a start, expecting to be attacked. Then she saw the notes by the bed. Her world had been destroyed? Had something much bigger than anything that the scientists could fathom slipped in through the dimensional barrier? It would explain her whereabouts. Furthermore, because things could slip into her world so easily, it might be a logical conclusion that things could slip out of it, too. Maybe she had slipped out of her world into this one?
No. The note said her world had been destroyed. Something must have slipped in. Her hand tensed around the note, crumpling it slightly. The full truth of the words didn't seem to be sinking in. Perhaps she'd understand the gravity of her situation eventually, but for now, it just seemed unreal. Was everything really gone? The scientists, the other Animids, the simulacra? Were the recent advances in simulacrum rights and technology all for naught? What was really going on here?]
Floor 99
[After she finishes examining her room, Sephira will head downstairs (she'll notice that the elevator is busted and just sort of shrug, unaware of what happened before she came). Floors 101 and 100 fail to catch her attention, but Floor 99 will make her pause. She can be found holding the device on her arm up to the various crystals and then checking the display, as though scanning for something.]
Cafeteria
[Eventually, Sephira will make her way to the cafeteria (not an easy task, given the lack of an elevator). She simply takes the oatmeal she's given and sits at a table, eating it slowly. The cafeteria environment reminds her strongly of home, and it's at this point that she acutely feels Carmina and Olivia's absences. This place is definitely missing the life that her home had, she can feel that much. What she would give for a certain simulacrum's celebrations right now...]

99
[Jenna has never seen a device like Sephira's before. She stops a few feet away and watches while Sephira holds the device up to the crystals and looks at the display.]
Are you, uh... Looking for something?

[Sephira continues to scan the crystals as she speaks.]
There are so many crystals here that surely at least one must be a memory crystal...
Floor 99
What are you scanning the crystals for? They'll hurt your eyes if you look at them for too long!
no subject
I'm scanning for memory crystals. There are so many crystals here that surely, at least one of them must contain usable memories...

[Never mind that she hasn't explained what an Animid is...]
no subject
Really?! That's super cool! But this isn't your world! The bad people pulled you here! And what's an Animid?
no subject
I've been assured that this isn't my world by the letters I received. As for what an Animid is... we are artificial humans that are capable of using powers from memory crystals with the help of technology. We act as a paranormal defense force of sorts.
[Beat.]
Please tell me who these "bad people" are.

Administrators... so the people who manage this place are evil? What have they done?

no subject
The administrators can eat souls? What do you mean? [That's almost as bad as using them as weapons.]
