This world is a dark place.
Characters: Post!surgery Dean, his roommates, his would-be heroes and killers.
Setting: Room 2-10 | spanning the month, potentially
Format: Starting brackets; flexible.
Summary: Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for Dean. Castiel will be there to put him out of his misery.
Warnings: Results of horrific surgery, angst, character death.
[For Dean, this month has been a waking nightmare. He hasn't slept, he hasn't eaten, it's almost as if his body has stopped functioning the way it should. There is no desire for human interaction because really, what's the point? Between sparse conversations with his roommates (and his brother), Dean really hasn't bothered with anyone else.
...Suicide had occurred to him as a means of escape, but in the end he never went through with it. He doubted Sam would even listen to his reasoning if he brought the idea up. What was he to do if he couldn't see to navigate his way to a ledge? And if by pistol, what would he shoot? He didn't have any brains to blow out. Since that first week of living like this, he's even begun to believe he can't die, simply on the logic that he should already be dead. Is he immortal now?
What a life. He'll continue to sit on the bed and pretend to stare at what he assumes is a wall, until someone decides to try dragging him into a conversation or something. In his hands, he holds his father's journal, that he cannot see. The feel alone is enough to remind him of his Dad, but even that isn't a comfort here.]
( ooc: If you would like to set a thread dating before Dean is killed, for roommate conversations or visitors during the span of the month, that is also acceptable! Just let me know in the subject if that is what you're doing. c: )

Set before final event
Of course there was the magical box, but it was in a magical box that they had gone when they had been taken to be operated on, Romeo was scared that if he went in one again it would take him back to the cages. He had a book in his mouth that he dropped when he entered so he could talk.
"Hello mister Dean!" Of the eight of them mister Dean was hurt the worst Romeo thought. It scared him, because his whole face had been taken but he wasn't scared of mister Dean, just of what had happened. He didn't really understand how he was still alive and out of everyone it was hardest to keep his Spirits up. Piccolo was riding on his head, between the antlers.
"Do you like stories mister Dean?"
;u;
"Hey, Romeo. What kinda stories you got?" He knew plenty of stories, none that he particularly cared for because most of them were either proven fake or just too silly. Or on occasion, true stories that were never as pretty as the picture book suggested.
;;
"It's got a dragon in it as well, and a princess. I can read it to you if you like but you need to turn the pages." They had to work together, so that they could do things even if the bad people had made things very difficult for them.
and then dean's paid ran out and no more piehole icons :<
"Alright, tell me when to turn, then."
Sad times ;;
"Okay, the story is called the Bravest Knight, you can turn the page now."
He began to read slowly, stumbling over the bigger words, it was obvious that reading was a relatively new skill. The story was typical, about a brave brave knight who rescued a princess from a tower guarded by a dragon and everybody lived happily ever after.
Romeo finished and looked up to where Dean's face should have been, "I think our knight must have got lost." He said softly.
