melodyoftheabyss & everyone (This is an open log but there are closed threads to certain individuals but it's open!)
Setting: Various Locations and days in the tower. Feel free to choose your location day and I’ll play by it!
Format: Either (you pick I follow)
Summary: The Event takes a toll for the worse as Ishtar, Kuwabara, and Tear delve into it. There is possible angst, depression, and other sort sorts of thing being brought to life. The sorrows, and the losses, will definitely be a huge effect on most of them.
Warning: Possible Blood & Gore Language Other possible graphic descriptions, angst, depression, and the things that people go through when they are faced with the people from their home and in these pups’ cases, the guilt of being unable to protect and prevent the end of their world. Just be aware when tagging into this log it will contain all of the above, perhaps not as detailed but there will be mentions and such.
"Oi Kuwabara, you're not mopin' are ya, because if you are I'm going to kick your ass?"
"There are many things left undone, Kuwabara. We're counting on you."
"Tch' I'll leave it to you oaf, don't you dare fail."
The voices continued. Strangely enough, despite the world being annihilated, Kuwabara was met with words that didn't seem negative at all. It was as if they didn't want to blame him for being the only one. It was typical of his friends. If he could save the world in one swoop, he would, or if he could sacrifice himself for everyone he cared about, he would.
Dying wasn't the typical thing a teenager should be thinking about, but Kuwabara knew the consequences and the rules of death. He had faced so many situations that made him realize how precious human life was, but despite that, he was willing to give it up, even if it meant he was unable to see his friends again. Unfortunately, that was not an option right now. Kuwabara's the only hope for his world, and even if Kido could help, he was not a fighter. Kuwabara knew that.
The guilt ate him a little at a time, but those words continued to plague his mind.
"Stop moping around idiot!"
"Do I have to crawl out of my grave and beat your ass up again?"
"You'll do fine, Kuwabara."
"It's okay, Kazuma, I know you can do it."
"You going to keel over, baby bro, after all that has happened? Don't make me kick your ass too."
"Kuwabara I know you can do it. Having you on my team was a pleasure."
"You can't slack off now, Kuwabara, nya!"
He clenched his fists. The sounds of the voices continued to echo through his mind.
"You're at least more reliable than the dimwit over here, Kuwabara. You know what to do."
The words, they plagued him. The more he thought and heard, them, the more guilt manifested. He knew the words were not negative, hell who in their right mind would even say shit to him like that? There was no one but his friends, and his home. They were the source of his strength and his sorrows. He felt their words meant that he couldn't let them down. He couldn't lose, and he had to win, but Kuwabara was not as strong as his friends. He may be on the same standing ground, but he had much to learn, and that burden of trying to save the world on his own, it weighed on him and clouded his mind.
He had to get over it, he had to persevere, but it was hard. The voices continued and continued. The shadows wouldn't leave him alone and each one bore a face of a friend or family he knew. He really couldn't bear to face it right now but he had to. Kuwabara had to fight this somehow but it was heartbreaking to know that he couldn't see his friends or home...at least not yet.
"♪ Tue rei ze croa riou tue ze ♫."
Tear was using her hymns to alleviate the shadows that stalked her and unfortunately, it didn't seem like it was working in her favour. It wasn't that Tear could not handle such things. It was the fact that she was plagued by things she did not quite fully grasp yet because of her short time here, she had a lot to understand grasp. She knew that her situation was better off than many people from her world, and those that were here, she knew that some of them were from different time points. Those explanations continued to haunt her as she ventured about the tower to rid herself of the shadow children that followed her, whispering things that she didn't want to hear, and grasping her guilt.
The worst of it was that these shadow children were like ghosts, trailing behind her, eerie and cold. The feeling of fear overwhelmed her, but she did what she could to fight them off. She tried what she could to remain strong, but it wasn't working. It was as if her mask was easily cracked by the things were said. Her attacks seemed to fail. There was no point in attacking ghostly figures that had no real form. A lesson she learned from using her knives on them. The combination of ghostly shadows and words of blame were not mixing well with her, despite her hardened expression. Pain continued to blossom from her chest as the whispers continued.
"What of the methods to conserve your Auldrant? It has become naught, Mystearica."
That cold voice, whispering her name, with a sinister smile, blaming her methods, and her ways. She was suppose to top Van. She was suppose to stop her brother from destroying Auldrant, but right now there was no Auldrant to protect, no Auldrant to preserve. The worst part was she couldn't do anything but try to attempt a normal life here. As a soldier, she had to remain headstrong and as a soldier she had to find her way back, but right now she didn't know what she could do. She didn't know how to ask for help and she certainly didn't want to show her weakness to others.
Eventually, she was worn out by the voices calling her, reaching for her.
"Were you not serious? Is that why you were idling around, wasting time? You said you will stop me, yet you are unable to leave such a petty place."
Her brother voice continued to reach for her. She didn't give up, but she lowered herself to the floor, hands clutching her chest. That's right, she had to get out of here.
Ishtar conditioned worsened by the hours. The minute this all started was the minute she fell to it, letting it cling to her, and clutch to her, like invisible hands. Ishtar was curled up in a ball, with her hands over her head and ears, trying to omit the voices that haunted her mind. The words were not cruel, but the intentions and meanings behind them screamed cruel.
"Ishtar...."
That voice she had not heard in a long time was the first to speak. His voice alone already made her uncomfortable. She tried to get away from him. The strongest voice of the masses that followed her. This shadow child that looke completely identical to the silver haired vampire she knew, down to the red glowing eyes that stared blankly at her.
"You should be careful of your actions princess, seeing what they've done to me. Will you just sit here and let them do as they please, while I have to take the hit for you?"
That's right. Duzell's always the one that protected her and kept her safe when Darres wasn't around.
"Is Darres that important that words you have said to me are insignificant? Will you sit idle and watch the world you know crumble? You're going to let everyone do the work for you aren't you? It's no different then, and it's no different now. Whether it's Pheliosta, Facility or this Tower, you can't even fight for what you want."
"Have you lost faith? You know that I'll always be by your side, yours and Darres'." A soothing voice penetrates the harsh one.
The child appeared identical to Yujinn and had his same silver hair and violet eyes. The kindness in them hadn't changed and Ishtar had to look away. It was painful. She had left Yujinn behind in that hellish place to be here. She couldn't do anything for Yujinn, not when he died, and certainly not when they were at Facility. She couldn't look at his face.
"Hey idiot, don't just sit there. If you're going to do something then do it."
Another rougher voice. She knew that one too.
"Ishtar is always trying her hardest, but the Ishtar I know wouldn't be this pathetic. If Ishtar wants something, then Ishtar should seize it. Will Ishtar fight?"
The other softer voice, almost identical to the rough one. Ishtar pulled herself up. Those faces, and the voices. She couldn't take anymore of it.
"It's not...I'm not trying to-- please I'm sorry...everyone...I'm sorry."
Another face appeared in the darkness. He didn't have to say anything for Ishtar to remember the time she spent with him. The one that suffered terrible experiment with her in his short time, and the bat that she took care of for him now. Suddenly, the scar where that doctor stabbed her was starting to ache invisibly.
"I assume that they're all my rugs now, seeing Duzell made a great one. You're pathetic to think that you can stop the Consortium. Look where it took you, Princess."
A sneering face. She remembered that damn bastard's face. The asshole who attacked them when she was back in Facility, "Shut up you know nothing! NOTHING!"
Ishtar dashed down the hallways now, forgetting that danger lurked everywhere. She just wanted the voices to stop.

CLOSED to Inuyasha
Beginning of event; 32
He could be found on the branch of one of the tall trees here.
Currently he was annoyed that the shadow figures were pestering him and grinning deviously. They wouldn't go away no matter how much he shoo'd them. In the end he just let them be and ignored them while he took a nap in the tree.]

Duzell's voice continued to haunt her. Of course it made sense that one of her strongest links would be the only depriving her of her sanity. She just sobbed into the ground and ripped at the grass. She hated this. She never wanted to be a burden to anyone, or be weak. She wasn't strong and she knew that. Now, it was just slapping her in the face. ]
I'm sorry....I'm SORRY.. Please just stop....

"Aye, you're just a lowly demon, InuYasha." Tch, Kaede of all people. He didn't need to hear it from the hag.
It looked like he wasn't going to be getting any sleep either. The half demon angrily sat up and looked over to see who came stampeding in and ruining his nap.]
What's it take to get some sleep around--[oh it was that girl from before. His brows furrowed when he saw her crying like that. Damn it, why'd this place have to be so miserable? The half demon leaped down from the branch and walked over to her.]
Get a hold of yourself!
[Earth to Ishtar! InuYasha knelt beside her. Had she been a guy, he would have manhandled her to her feet.]

Kuwabara; early in the event
He was exploring the tower, trying to find something to get his mind off the voices when he happened to see an odd-looking young man. Vibrant orange hair styled like that? For a moment he thought he was seeing some other version of himself. No, that's not right, his hair doesn't look like that. Mondo approached the other man, pausing when he realized that the other boy was clearly as bothered by all this as he was.
"Hey, you alright?" It was probably the stupidest question he could ask, but he wasn't entirely sure what else to say.
no subject
"SHUT IT URAMESHI I'M TRYING!"
He punched a wall as he said that. This was overbearingly annoying. He couldn't even blast them away with his spirit energy. The worst part was they were like spirits, ghosts, haunting him. He whipped his head around to see the guy calling to him and the only human voice he could make out in this annoying tower right now with all these damn shadows following him.
"Eh as fine as anoyone with these guys followin' 'im."
He replied to the guy and then double too at his appearance. Not only did he look similar to Kuwabara but he remembered who this guy was. He might not be the same guy but Kuwabara remembered that he fought wit him the first time he was in the tower.
"Oi, ain't you that guy that helped me... way back I first got here."
Shut up Hiei you're annoying him too. Kuwabara tried to punch the shadow with no avail. It kept mocking him.
no subject
"Nah, it wasn't me. Or well, I guess it was me, but I don't remember it. It's pretty fucking confusing. I just got here the other day, but apparently I've been here before."
Confusing is one way to word it. "Are these things mimicking your friends back home too?" Because there was no way that they were actually shadowy ghosts of his friends. Simply no way.

The blonde heaved for air, obvious that he spent a good majority of his time running. The tower made it too hard for him to locate Kuwabara spiritually.]
Kuwabara...these things...are eating away at them!
["Geez, you really are useless. What's the point in having powers if you're not gonna use them?!"
Kido's collar was notably lighter than before, but nowhere near life threatening.]
no subject
Damn it, they got ya too Kido? Jeez, what do ya mean eating away at 'em?
[ Kuwabara pushed himself up. that's right, he still had people to protect here. Kido was from his world and every right his ally just as Yusuke and the others were. They worked together for all the things to be right. Kuwabara noticed it too since his collar dimmed a bit but not too badly since he was in better shape than most people. Ghost like shadows, not his forte and totally creepin' him out! ]
Oi you okay? Ya look pale as a damn ghost Kido!

[Being that he helped Genkai teach this group about perceiving and learning information that would not be so easily handed over, he too picked up on that lesson.]
I'm fine...I'm just tired.

Kuwabara: Friday
InuYasha couldn't even make it to the upper levels, let alone the next floor, leaving him stuck just above the infirmary.
"You're pathetic, InuYasha. To think you could redeem yourself. Have you forgotten that you're indebted to me?"]
K-Kikyou. [It was true, his life belonged to hers. But he had more than her to worry about.]
["InuYasha, you lied to me! You said I could stand by your side, but then you left me to die! InuYasha YOU'RE SUCH A JERK!"
Why both of them? Why at the same time. Kagome, he's sorry. He didn't want things to turn out this way. InuYasha wasn't even sure he would even be able to join Kikyou in hell here too. How did things go this wrong? Here he couldn't fulfill his promises. Here he couldn't defeat Naraku. Here he could not help the people he cared about in a way he knew best. All he was doing was rotting here. InuYasha wanted to continue, but he had no strength to do so. It left him bounded to the ground by gravity and his own lack of strength.]
god this awful you have no idea!!
He wanted to protect as many people as he could. His role as a typical shounen hero never changed.
Kuwabara immediately knew he was a demon from his appearance and the youki he was emitting. He rushed over to help him anyway, since Kuwabara was not discriminate towards demons or humans. He knew that there were good and bad in many people. He rushed over to help the guy up with his own inhuman strength. ]
Hey, hang in there.
