Summary: Your name is JADESPRITE. You have just woken up in a strange tower, and you have no idea where it is. This isn't the gamee, and nobody you know is here; not even DAVESPRITE. As far as you know, everyone is dead. You can't teleport anywhere, but that never really came to mind in the first place. What will you do? Cry, of course.
Warnings: Nothing, probably. Just a lot of weeping on her part.

[ well, this definitely was strange. the last thing that Jadesprite remembered was teleporting Davesprite's strange sword over to Derse on the Battlefield... but this definitely wasn't there; this wasn't Skaia, or even the game at all. the letters that she had received had told her that the world was destroyed, so that had to mean that everyone died. why was she left alone? she never asked for this in the first place.

after reading the letter in this strange bedroom, she's already started to cry. she hated this room, she hated the thought that everyone was dead again, and she hated that she even existed. there had to be a way out... anywhere was better than here.

crying still, she floats out of her room and down to the strange glass floor. looking out and rubbing her eyes, she could see nothing but dark, gray clouds. everything really was gone....

so there's only one thing that she can think of doing: slumping down to curl up against the wall and cry more. ]

[Laurel had been flying the perimeter when her super hearing catches the sound of moisture hitting the ground, and choked sobs of a tortured soul--no more reading those trash love novels.

She swoops in from the stairs and floats there before the person.]

Hey, are you okay?

[ she looks up... and it's a person! but it's definitely not anyone she knows, so the crying doesn't stop. ]

Do I look okay? How could anyone be okay here?

[She flies closer.]

It's hard, right? But...there are people here who can help you. [She sucks at this comfort thing. She's pretty sure Brai--Brainiac would do a better job!]

You must be new. My name is Laurel.

There's nobody here that could help me. Unless you can bring me back to my friends, there's no use in anything!

[ sob sob sob. ]

Well...I will help you if you want.

You can't bring me back to where they are! They're all dead!

[Obviously this woman is hysterical. She'll just swoop down and try to grab the girl's shoulders.] Hey! Calm down! They might not be dead, you might be overreacting over nothing!

[ it's not the first time that's happened. she'll just keep crying. ] How do you know? They were all dead back home, they can't come back here! You don't get it!

[Karkat hates a lot of things too, Jadesprite. He can't exactly say crying is his first way of coping, but some people just can't help it. Sure.

He notices her on floor four, all bundled up and crying. Yep, he knows who she is immediately. Standing over her with his arms crossed.]

Let me guess, Jadesprite?

[ sniffle sniffle... wait, how did he know her name? ]

Yes...?

[Karkat knows a lot of names, because he's kind of a big deal.]

I know this place sucks but crying won't help a damn thing. I'm sure you've heard that before from other Jade in some form or fashion.

[Fuck, how many Jades are in this tower?]

[ she tries to wipe her eyes, but the sobs aren't really stopping at all. ]

You know that Jade? Does that mean she's here, too?

[ not that it would make much of a difference... ]

[ too many jades. what is this, the third? thankfully, she looks familiar enough. in one piece and decidedly teary-eyed; it's nice when things match up to how he remembers them being. he floats over to her and sits down against the wall, looking out at the clouds. because watching a girl cry makes him feel bad. ]

[ !!!!!!!!! that sprite-voice is definitely familiar - she just heard it not too long ago, after all! but how... wasn't everything destroyed? she had to be hallucinating.

even so, she looks beside him and blinks. ]

...Dave?

[ oh good she's not crying anymore he can stop pretending the clouds are somehow really interesting. ]

Yeah. We survived.

[ oh my god. oh my god. he was alive. one of her friends was alive.

excuse her, Dave. she'll be pouncing for a hug now. call it animal instinct. ]

[ and he doesn't even mind. it would be an obvious lie to pretend that he didn't miss her some. doomed sprites gotta stick together! so he... pets her hair... shut up he's still really bad at hugs. ]

[ half of her was expecting it to be some kind of trick or dream or something, so feeling him pet her hair is a huge relief. she tries her best to swallow down the tears coming, since green tears probably wouldn't look good on orange feathers. ]

What happened to us? Where are we?

[ yeah he wouldn't want to clash or anything during this emotional moment. ]

The Reckoning destroyed everything. Something brought us here before it happened.

Do... you know what it is? I got this weird note when I woke up here, but it didn't make much sense...

[ she rubs her eyes of any loose tears and sniffs. ]

Yeah, I didn't believe the note at first. [ s h r u g. ] I don't know how we got here or what happened. We're here though and we're alive.

[ a few more choked sobs. she still doesn't like this whole "living" thing... but it might be a bit more bearable with Dave around. ]

Does that mean everyone else was killed? Jade and the others?

[ no don't cry he's so bad at comforting people... ]

Dave, Lalonde and Harley are here. Egbert was here too, but I haven't seen him for a while. He'll be back soon.

They're really all alive? [ but... Prospit crashed into the Battlefield! that couldn't be... no. if Dave said it was true, he can't be lying. she trusts him. ]

Well... what about this tower? It feels like it goes on forever... and the collars!

Can't tell you much else, I know shit all. Went from knowing it all to knowing nothing.

They'll be happy to see you. [ ... probably. ]

[ sigh... she doesn't know anything either - not that she did before. same old useless Jadesprite. ]

I don't think so... I wasn't helping anyone back in the game, so why would they want me around?
