another "look, a new towermate!" thread
Characters: Fran, and whoever stumbles on in.
Setting: Her room, the halls.
Format: Anything goes.
Summary: Frankenstein's monster walks out of one of the dorms.
Warnings: Nothing, unless you consider Fran's, ah, natural charisma warning worthy.
The first word out of Fran's mouth once it chooses to start working again is a quiet "Ah," followed by "Perhaps there was a leak of halothane vapor? I don't remember going to sleep, and someone would have woken me if I was in the middle of a procedure..."
That's about when she notices the letters. The longer one she reads first and tucks away under her pillow, but the shorter text piques her curiosity. While the loss of the world is troubling as an understatement, the fact that she's still extant makes her contemplate how the definition of world is being applied - is it just whatever places she frequented? The people she knew? Was she saved from an unlucky, localized fluke of destruction or has she been abducted by curious, kindly aliens?
..it's a while later that Fran leaves the room she woke up in to go see the rest of this mysterious compound. She's still wearing the provided bodysuit, but with her poncho over it for a bit more modesty. Her gait is rather strange, like she can't find her center of balance.

omfg it's franken fran. This is so perfect.
Only the promise of food had even brought him out at all for the past couple of days. Technically this wasn't much different than the shut-in tendencies that he had performed back home, but those days were going on five months away now, and they were the last thing on his mind. He was mostly focused now on how screwed the entire tower was. What did it matter if some girl with a leg injury was traipsing around the tower now? She was going to die just like everyone else.
It took several minutes before he reconsidered and followed her down the hall, not trying particularly hard to sneak along unnoticed.
basically looked at animus & realized it was the perfect place for her
The downside to this is it doesn't take Fran long to notice he's there. Her reaction isn't exactly animate, but it's not negative, at least. "Hello."

"..no, neither is. Are you sure your vision's alright~? Any feelings of dizziness or nausea?"
no subject
(If Ienzo had any grasp of the concept of Halloween, he would have wondered briefly if she had dressed up in costume. But unfortunately, he didn't.)
"...No," he said quietly.

Her attention wavers back to the nearest names-in-room list, and she ponders over why it's listing a country. Did the organizers have to make a special note of an occupant's nationality...?
You continue to not get a decent answer to your question!

She thought you just said something amazing for a second there.
2/2
"Oh, that's just perfect~!"
Well, Ienzo, you've certainly gotten her attention back now.

In the meantime, have Ienzo not caring.
"I'm glad your needs are suited." He spoke in a blank tone, not sounding glad in the least.
no subject
"Making do without would have been an interesting challenge, but I'm certain any future feelings of dizziness or nausea you get will be thankful for having a properly equipped physician available~!"

Fran stops short about two or three steps before she would have accidentally trampled this poor sod sitting in the hall
or worse, gotten footprints on his lovely drape.Good thing she'd noticed him in time! ...he looked rather under the weather, to be honest.no subject
no subject
He did give her a side-long glance to look up at her for a minute, but a glare later he was no longer paying her any mid.
no subject
Well, that was a pleasant staring contest they had there, hope to do it again sometime, but you're in a rather concerning state, there.
"Are you ill, sir?"
no subject
Ankh lifted his head a bit more this time to look at her with utter distaste. "What's it matter to you?" He was trying to concentrate, thank you.
no subject
That look of revulsion is shrugged off faster than a duck flicks away an errant drop of water. "I might be able to help, depending on the problem~. So, are you~~?"
no subject
no subject
..Just, ah, try and ignore what that icon might be insinuating.
no subject
"It's not something a doctor can take care of, unless you're one of the freaks that run this place." Although he wouldn't be surprised if she was one of them, to be honest. "So get out of here already."
no subject
That's said with a completely straight face. Either this girl is the best at being ironic (another Dave??) or she really thinks this is a nice place. Erm.
"The right doctor can take care of anything~! If it's something a layman would think a doctor couldn't fix... perhaps it's a malady of the mind?"
She's insinuating you're crazy, Ankh.
no subject
"Huh?" And once more a look of confusion. "I'm not crazy, idiot," He said scathingly, once again looking away from her in favor of admiring the surroundings.
no subject
Ankh's continuous avoidance of eye contact has caught her attention, and Fran maneuvers specifically to look him in the eyes. "Maybe you're under the influence of some drug? Hm, pupils aren't dilated..."
no subject
Sorry he's not technically a living being, no can do."Hey," Ankh protested in annoyance when she re-entered his line of vision after turning away. "Drugs? What are you talking about?"
no subject
Damn."I'm trying to diagnose what's wrong with you," she explains plainly, before getting out of his face - just in time to make a grab for his right hand to take his pulse.
no subject
"Let me go you freak!"
no subject
"..Huh. Patient pulse is highly abnormal. Do you normally break out in acute cases of monster arms, or is this a new symptom?"
no subject
"No, idiot, it's my real body. I'm a Greeed. My pulse is 'abnormal' because I don't have a heart."
no subject
If anything, she just looks more interested. Ankh, what have you done.
no subject
"No. I'm possessing a normal human. Like I said, this" He waved his arm again for emphasis, "is my real body."
no subject
A parasitic being, then. But to attach to an arm, instead of, say, directly to the brain? And to be able to just blend its original body into its host like that...
Curiouser and curiouser.
"--so you're inhabiting this human. Would you mind if I check his pulse, then?" Fran gestures to Ankh's other, non-Greeed arm, though she half expects that one to turn weird too. She's beginning to suspect his malaise might be born from a lack of communication between coexisting bodies, hence his reluctance to divulge any symptoms. Maybe the host's real arm is turning gangrenous beneath whatever the parasite's done to it! Oh, how exciting.
no subject
"Buzz off," He said simply, using his Greeed arm to flick her in the forehead while he glared.
i apologize for kyaa's they're canon
She's jonesing for patients, is all."Kyaa!"
That head flick sends her stumbling back. Fran rubs at the attacked spot on her forehead with one intricately-stitched hand, and gives Ankh a pouting frown.
"A simple 'no' would have sufficed."
if you apologize for that i'm apologizing for ankh's existence
"Tell it to someone who cares. I don't need some freak prodding at my medals. Whatever's wrong with me has to do with this place, not me."
Apology accepted!!
dayshours."I'll see you later, then~. Until then, I prescribe not doing anything too strenuous until you feel like the unnatural symptoms have passed. Maybe you'll be more forthcoming when you feel better~!"
She stalks off, with that same strange, dizzied way as before.
