another "look, a new towermate!" thread

Characters: Fran, and whoever stumbles on in.
Setting: Her room, the halls.
Format: Anything goes.
Summary: Frankenstein's monster walks out of one of the dorms.
Warnings: Nothing, unless you consider Fran's, ah, natural charisma warning worthy.

The first word out of Fran's mouth once it chooses to start working again is a quiet "Ah," followed by "Perhaps there was a leak of halothane vapor? I don't remember going to sleep, and someone would have woken me if I was in the middle of a procedure..."

That's about when she notices the letters. The longer one she reads first and tucks away under her pillow, but the shorter text piques her curiosity. While the loss of the world is troubling as an understatement, the fact that she's still extant makes her contemplate how the definition of world is being applied - is it just whatever places she frequented? The people she knew? Was she saved from an unlucky, localized fluke of destruction or has she been abducted by curious, kindly aliens?

..it's a while later that Fran leaves the room she woke up in to go see the rest of this mysterious compound. She's still wearing the provided bodysuit, but with her poncho over it for a bit more modesty. Her gait is rather strange, like she can't find her center of balance.

Her walking would've been slightly more baffling if he had been in a better state of mind. But right now he was mentally struggling with what the hell was going on, so he was sitting in the middle of the hallway against the wall, one legged propped up and his arm holding his head, a few deactivated candroids scattered around him on the ground.

Under the weather he was, because any other time he would've been harping on her immediately. But no, he was so out of his right mind that his drape didn't even appear to give him a nice spot to sit on.

He did give her a side-long glance to look up at her for a minute, but a glare later he was no longer paying her any mid.

He is nothing but best and finest host, especially when it comes to staring contests, don't you know.

Ankh lifted his head a bit more this time to look at her with utter distaste. "What's it matter to you?" He was trying to concentrate, thank you.

"Huh?" His face contorted in bewilderment, his hand still holding his forehead as he leaned on his arm for support. "The hell can you do?" Because somehow he highly doubted that this girl with a giant screw in her head could fix this stupid mind control crap.

Ankh scoffed and turned his gaze away, lazily lowering his arm and then resting his head against the wall behind him.

"It's not something a doctor can take care of, unless you're one of the freaks that run this place." Although he wouldn't be surprised if she was one of them, to be honest. "So get out of here already."

Any other time he would have had some serious deadpan to dish out at that 'lovely place' comment. But we'll have to save that for another time.

"Huh?" And once more a look of confusion. "I'm not crazy, idiot," He said scathingly, once again looking away from her in favor of admiring the surroundings.

Sorry he's not technically a living being, no can do.

"Hey," Ankh protested in annoyance when she re-entered his line of vision after turning away. "Drugs? What are you talking about?"

"--Hey!!" Well he certainly did not expect her to grab his arm, and you can damn well guess he was struggling. For a moment, if Fran was able to detect his pulse, she'd notice it was a bit slower than normal, as if he were asleep. But the next second the pulse would disappear completely, as his Greeed arm was now completely covering his wrist and forearm.

"Let me go you freak!"

[identity profile] handpuppeeet.livejournal.com 2011-11-02 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
When he had his arm back, he wrung his wrist back and forth a bit, cradling it slightly with his other hand. It wasn't that it hurt or anything, it just seemed to be habit.

"No, idiot, it's my real body. I'm a Greeed. My pulse is 'abnormal' because I don't have a heart."

[identity profile] handpuppeeet.livejournal.com 2011-11-02 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
Ankh's not sure he likes the descriptor 'inhuman creature.' But he won't dwell on that for now, giving her a strange look before continuing.

"No. I'm possessing a normal human. Like I said, this" He waved his arm again for emphasis, "is my real body."

He wasn't sure he liked how...forthcoming with aid this girl was. She seemed to have a lot of medical know-how if she kept talking about his pulse. His left arm however, was dropped to his side and rested on an outstretched leg.

"Buzz off," He said simply, using his Greeed arm to flick her in the forehead while he glared.

if you apologize for that i'm apologizing for ankh's existence

Ankh's reaction to her stumbling was little more than to watch in a completely unfazed fashion.

"Tell it to someone who cares. I don't need some freak prodding at my medals. Whatever's wrong with me has to do with this place, not me."
