The Hard Truth Is,
Characters: Sam, Ankh and OPEN TO ALL YOU INNOCENT BY-STANDERS WHO WISH TO BE CAUGHT IN THE CROSSFIRE OUT THERE.
Setting: Teh first floor, AKA The Cafeteria.
Format: Prose; not sure, but it might be subject to switch.
Summary: Sam is on his way to kill him some recovering-from-experimentation peeps when he spots Ankh. Let's be honest, he doesn't like Ankh very much. Influenced, he figures he should quickly take care of the bloody cherub before going on his way. It'll be one less enemy to worry about.
Warnings: Language, weapons, violence, character death(s?)
Sam didn't look good was putting it lightly.
He was haggard, thinner than when he first arrived, and exhausted; dark circles underneath both of his eyes. Worst of all, one could see he was tense. Like prey that always feared the predater was coming, and would sink it's claws into him unexpectedly.
It's not like weeks of feeling like you were being watched were just going to go away, even if he did understand what was going on now.
And really, fate thought they could get a good laugh out of his predicament it seemed. Because he had been watching, just like they had. Had seen his room mate's become infected. Saw his room mates become strangers. Especially his "brother".
They were all brainwashed. And Sam knew how to fix it.
To be honest, he wasn't planning on stopping when he saw Ankh. Actually, Sam didn't initially have any thoughts about him at all. Until he remembered that those who were experimented on couldn't possibly get far, and that the cupid was a dick; a brainwashed one. Maybe it was exhaustion, or maybe he had just snapped, but something had influenced him to turn around.
Sam was going to take care of it. It probably wouldn't take him that long anyway.

He clenched his fist angrily. He had to fix this, this was absurd.
He had only caught Sam turning back towards him out of the corner of his eye, because if there was one thing he could still rely on, it was his vision. The Greeed looked at him in kind, with a look that was none too please. "The hell do you want?"

But, he wasn't in his right mind anyway.
Sam's expression was cold, rigid. He made no show to hide his intent, nor did he make a show to explain his reasoning. Why should it matter? Killing one brainwashed fool out of the hundreds here was just doing the tower a favor. And maybe, Sam kind of liked having the power to know he could kill something.
Yeah, so it wasn't the monster that had brought him here, but shooting a Cupid was close enough.

Eiji had gone off doing god knows what. That dumbass had taken medals, a problem no doubt, but it seemed far less important right now.
Ducking a shot was easy to see coming and avoid; with his Greeed arm thrust forward, he rushed at Sam with his hand open, making a grab for his face.
