it all keeps adding up, i think i'm cracking up;
Characters: Tobias and open.
Setting: Floor 14, Floor 63, and Floor 87
Format: Either.
Summary: A day in the life of a birdboy?
Warnings: Probably nothing aside from usual body horror if he morphs. Maybe mild language?
[Floor 14]
[Even with everything that happened, Tobias is still a teenager. A nerdy teenager, at that. So it's not really that surprising for someone like him to be on the media floor, playing a video game - an FPS, specifically.]
[What is probably surprising, at least for other people, is that he's still in his hawk morph, perched on the controller. One talon is on the stick controlling movement, and the other is resting on the face buttons.]
[… These graphics are awesome.]
[Floor 63]
[Birds are not made for water, generally - at least not hawks. That's just not something they do. But Tobias is fighting that instinct today as he rolls himself out into the water.]
[Today, he's decided to use his dolphin morph, despite having almost been drowned acquiring it. There's just something about being a dolphin that's sheer fun, even though he's eyeing some of the fish uneasily. Still, the dolphin instinct takes over, so anyone heading through this level will see a dolphin speeding around, chittering and trying to play with the fish.]
[Every so often he pokes his head into the column of air around the stairs, spraying out a wet breath from his blowhole and sucking in another fresh breath before zooming away again.]
[Floor 87]
[It's not totally unlike Tobias to sit and admire wildlife. He's part of the wildlife, after all. He'd smell the flowers, but his sense of smell is way inferior to most of his other senses now. Even still, it's not that hard to spot the flash of reddish-brown from the stairs.]
[It's starting to get harder to spot him, though. Tobias closes his eyes, hunkering down a bit. A nap shouldn't hurt, right?]
[Hasn't he seen this in a movie somewhere?]

[don't point it out you'll just make it worse]
[oh goodness there go his ears, you've done it now.]
S-Sorry. I w-wasn't...I mean... [He shrugs, somewhat flustered.] ...b-b-bad h-habit.
[Beat.]
...You w-were...a-a-anonymous, then. I n-never got y-your name.
no subject
[Oh right that was a thing.]
<Tobias. I'd shake your hand but. Yeah.>

[Rick quirks his eyebrows but has the common sense not to inquire further. Although he must ask: ]
Yeah...c-can't you t-turn back, though? A-Are you, um...s-stuck?
[He's going on the assumption that Tobias is human, of course. Or at least has a form with opposable thumbs.]

no subject
...Were you h-human to s-start with? [Then his personal censor catches and he goes pink.] --I-I m-mean, I d-don't want to p-pry or a-a-anything, just--j-just c-curious.
no subject
[And that tone means no, we're not talking about it.]
no subject
...So, ah...w-what else c-can you, um, sh--shift into?
no subject
no subject
[Okay yeah, Rick is being such a dork about this and he's only now starting to realize it.]
...s-sorry, it's just...I've n-never met s-someone else that can sh--shift. E-Even--here, you know? [Rick gestures vaguely around them.] I-If ever I'd f-find another sh--shapeshifter...

[His eyebrows arch sharply upward. That...sounds like something else he shouldn't inquire too deeply about. Maybe he should try to change the subject while he still has the good sense to do so.]
--Uh, yeah. I g-guess there c-could be o-other p-people with my a-a-abilities back h-home, but...if there are, I h-haven't m-met them.

[Hm...]

...I-I don't th--think it w-would w-work out well if I d-did, no.
[Particularly not after Codi started giving them pseudonyms and organizing vigilante work and retrieval. Telling people he was a Specialist of any kind might set off some red flags.]
...Um...w-why do you a-ask?

[...Putting it that way made it sound kind of silly.]
