Summary: These two meet, also there is archery fail

The bow Nesir had looked as terrifying as it's wielder did not. Though it had been crafted out of wood found in the forests here, or perhaps because of that fact it looked evil, as if it wanted to do you harm.

A fitting weapon and Nesir was pleased with it. With the look of it anyways, it was still a bow and bows were still the most stupid weapon ever created. But she had promised Ganondorf she would become competent with one, and so here she was, in the forest- she had thought this the safer forest and was a little confused at the amount of monstrous animals. Not that she minded, they made good targets.

She hadn't hit one yet. Except one squirrel that had mocked her so much she had given up and threw a dagger at it. The anger of the last month had faded into a muted annoyance with everything but she forced herself to focus. Dipping in and out of the emptiness, pausing every so often to touch the scarlet ribbon that held her hair back.

She still hadn't decided which side was best. A right handed grip had the obvious problem; her index and middle fingers were missing on her right hand, reducing her ability to draw the string properly. Left handed though was a disaster and the arrow went spinning off to the side, luckily it probably didn't have enough power to puncture anything.

"Darkness be taking his eyes." She hissed, sometimes; despite her loyalty, she really hated Ganondorf.

Nesir stopped at the signal, flipping her daggers and letting go of the emptiness. Pain hit her and she bore it with gritting her teeth, the rest of the emotions came with it, but it was a feeling she was used to by now. Still it took a moment before she could answer.

"You can be asking anything." She's a bit tense, after Ganondorf's casual dismissal of her abilities and Sephiroth's constant derision at her being human she feels like she has to constantly prove herself. And it was obvious from his collar and their spar that Diarmuid was not an unpowered human.

Diarmuid nods, though there is concern on his face, "Thank you. You are very skilled, but there are some things I need help understanding about how you fight if I am to teach you. But first, we really should deal with your arm. You are in pain..."

She feels a rush of pride as he compliments her, though she tries to keep it off her face and tells herself that he's a light addled idiot, his opinion matters little next to Ganondorf's, and Sephiroth's as much as she hates to admit it.

"It do no be being too bad, I can be dealing with it later."

While he is still worried about her wound, Diarmuid doesn't push since showing too much concern could come off as an insult and that is the last thing he wants to do. Instead, he nods and moves onto his questions.

"Will you tell me about that state you fell into while we were fighting? It is...very different from anything I have seen before."

"The emptiness, it do be being called." She told him with a small one shoulder shrug, "It do be a warrior state where I do be coming from, you do be finding it through meditation and then utilizing it in battle, it do be keeping distractions out, so you can be fighting even when badly injured."

"The emptiness. That is an appropriate name for it," Diarmuid thinks over what she has told him and then shakes his head. "It is very different from most fighting styles I know. We do the very opposite of you. We do not shut out our emotions...not to that extent. Instead, we focus and control them using them to fuel our fighting."

"We can be doing that as well, the emptiness do no be always working. It do be being difficult to maintain." She blushed slightly, "I do be struggling to be keeping it if I do be getting angry. I can be fighting with it better than most acolyte's though." She sounds proud of that.

She should be proud. Even if Diarmuid doesn't fully understand her fighting style, he can see she already has a very steady grasp on how it works and that is a big thing for one who appears so young as she does.

"Emotion is a very powerful force. That is why most people who I know chose to use it when they fight. Pushing it away means that it can slip in at the worst possible moment and ruin your concentration, just as you mention. However, everyone is different. You are already very skilled. It may be that you soon find a way to deal with that as well."

Nesir nodded, "At least anger do be being a useful emotion, even when it do be coming back I can still be fighting."

And she was getting better, even if they were running out of time. "You do be being an impressive fighter, you do be having magic do you no be?" Because there was no way he fought that well, and that fast, without extra help.

"Anger is useful, but also dangerous and needs to be handled with care least you lose control of yourself and end up regretting your actions. It's not something to be afraid of, but not something you should let your guard down around either."

Diarmuid falls silent thinking about her question for a few moments before answering, "Yes and no. Do happen to know what a Servant is? There are several others like me in the Tower, though I have no idea if you have met any of them."

Nesir nodded, though Diarmuid was just spouting light addled nonsense, she tried to bare it with patience though.

She grinned though and nodded at the next part, "I do be knowing, Lancelot do be being a Servant too... and Saber."

~~He's so light-addled, I'm surprised she's not blind yet. LOL!~~

Diarmuid smiles, seeming relieved, "They are both allies of mine. Fine warriors and friends. As you may have guessed from my reaction, I am a Servant like they are. My class is Lancer and aside from having great skill with spears, those called into that class also excelled in speed and agility during their first lives. Those skills have just been enhanced by me being a Servant."

"Lancelot do be being a very great warrior indeed, he do be being really fast too." She nodded ~~someone may have a small warrior crush~~. "I have no been seeing Saber fight yet."

She had been lucky enough for Lancelot to spar with her, and for Diarmuid to test her, but she worried about insulting Saber if she asked to fight her, since Nesir's skill was clearly much less.

"She is a great warrior as well. We have had the chance to fight a time or two, and while our battles were never allowed to come to conclusion, they were experiences I would never give up."

Even if one of them ended because he was forced to kill himself in front of her.

"When I last posted to the Network asking for people to help teach others weapons, Lancelot did volunteer. He is a master of all weapons he lays his hands on. It is one of his special skills. Take your bow to him and ask for his assistance. I am sure he would be willing to help you learn it."

"He do be?" She smiled and nodded, a master of all weapons he laid his hands on, that was a great skill indeed. She would do that then.

"Did you be having more questions?"

Diarmuid smiles in agreement, "Is it is truly a miraculous talent and speaks highly of his level of skill. You would probably find few better teachers. I wish you much luck in your lessons."

"And yes, I do have more questions. One in particular relates to lessons. How is your fighting style taught? Could you give me an idea so I know how you are used to learning?"

"You do be meaning the emptiness." She frowned, she had been very young when she had learned it. "It do be being taught through meditation. In the temple it do be being taught with combat lessons, so we can be practicing fighting in the emptiness as we do be learning to fight." She shrugged.

"I could be probably teaching you if you did be wanting to, the concept do no be being hard."

"While I appreciate the offer, I must decline," Diarmuid shakes his head and then smiles slightly. "It might be simple to you, but I don't know that I would ever be able to learn to fight that way. I am far too connected to my emotions. Even if I did manage, I don't think I would be able to fight at my full potential. As I said, I am really just trying to understand your fighting style, so I can try to avoid teaching you things in ways that don't work for you."

Diarmuid laughs lightly, "Perhaps I am just worrying too much since your style is so different from what I am used to. It might just be best if we start and you feel free to correct me if something just doesn't make sense."

Nesir nodded, understanding why he would be wary of learning a different way of fighting.

"I can be fighting without it." She pointed out, "So I can be just no be going into it while you do be teaching me."

"It would probably be for the best as we are learning the basics of the moves. However, I want you to feel free to adjust them to fit your fighting style. Once a person has learned to fight in one way, it is foolish to attempt to teach them to fight in a way that is completely different from that. It only wastes time and can place them into danger if their automatic reflexes get confused. When we spar to test how well you have learned the moves, I will expect you to use your full abilities and that means using the emptiness as well, so feel free to work on combining the two once you feel you have the basics down."

"Does that make sense to you?"

She nodded, "It do be making perfect sense." She told him, quite excited about learning to use a completely new weapon.

"Good," Diarmuid smiles, relief in his eyes. "I am glad to hear that. I would offer to begin your instruction now, but while you say your arm is okay, I prefer my students not bleeding while I teach them. You will have to forgive me on that. When do you usually have free time? We can begin whenever you are free."

[She pulled a face but didn't argue, even though she felt fine and her arm wasn't too bad] I do be being free most of the time, I do be having a job but I would rather be learning.

"I would rather you not skip your job for this. I have seen what happens to those who skip their jobs too often. Lessons are important, but so is your life." Diarmuid falls silent for a moment, thinking, before asking, "Do you have much free time in the mornings?"

She pulled a face, she really hated her job. More than mere words could describe. But she nodded, "Mostly, I do be spending my mornings training anyways." So more training wasn't exactly a distraction.
