Event: Questions and Answers

Characters: NPCs, open
Setting: cafeteria, after lunch, June 11 & 12
Format: starting in prose
Summary: Some of the tower administration answers questions characters may have about their situation.
Warnings: possible language, possible violence

There is a small, hastily-constructed stage at the head of the cafeteria. While it's empty now, it's obvious there's room for two people to sit and answer questions in front of microphones. After dinner, the collared cafeteria workers silently clear away all food to prepare. Until the session begins, everyone is left to talk amongst themselves.

"What is so special about this world that it remains intact?"

Prussia is seated, as well, legs crossed and an untrusting scowl on her face.

"Now, this is a simplification," Jason begins, "but imagine all the worlds you're from are like trees in a forest, and the destruction is a forest fire. It spreads from one to the other. While we are not sure yet how to destroy it, we can redirect it away from small places."

"And you've succeeded in redirecting it away from here so far." Her expression turns serious now, "Which means that you must possess some superior means to have survived so far. Why utilize it in such a small scale?"

"The small scale is all we can manage at the moment. Research is taking place to try and extend this and protect other worlds directly, but has not been completed yet."

"Research. That implies a good number of you people working together, yet this place is rather empty." She wasn't sure if she was convinced by the young man's words. It was more reassuring to believe in how improbable all of this was.
