Summary: Rose and Kanaya unite after a long time seperated.

Rose hadn't seen Kanaya for quite some time, now. Starting with the experiment afflicting them both, Kanayas apparent avoidance of the other girl due to the spirit trapped inside of her, then topped off with Roses visit home, it had been quite a while since they had spoken.
But even with the experiment over and done with and the two of them back to pristine health, the young witch still didn't quite know where the troll was.
So, she settled on heading to the cafeteria for now-- if she lingered around long enough, Kanaya was sure to show up. She had to eat, didn't she?

[Rose set aside her steaming cup of hot chocolate, eyes quickly scanning over Kanaya to check for any signs of illness. Satisfied with what she saw, she nodded almost invisibly, giving Kanaya a small smile.]

How are you feeling?

[She puts down the fork and knife and covers her stomach with her hands, a habit she picked up this month, some type a pseudo attempt to sooth the phantom. She covered her front a lot more lately, as if she were making sure the phantom were really gone while simultaneously being prepared if it suddenly came back. It was rather unsettling]

To be honest I am a bit shaken by the whole event. I am glad that it is over but unsure if it really is over. I received a note that read Thank you for participating in our experiment. The results will be posted sometime this month. Rewards for participation will arrive with the experiment results. I do not want some reward for having my body experimented on, nor do I want the data to be bad lest they try this again.

I was affected by an experiment as well, temporarily. It would have lasted longer if not for the fact i was temporarily sent home.

[She pauses a moment.]

It was barren. Destroyed. I was there, Kanaya.

[She pauses a moment before standing up, settling down to sit next to the other girl. She wanted to wrap her arms around Kanaya, tell her everything would be okay, but Rose was still unsettled enough herself.]

We will make them pay for the injustices they bestowed upon us. You have that as my promise.

[Kanaya, who has been staring at her food, immediately directed her attention to Rose. Not only was she affected by the experimentation but she was sent home?]

[Her voice is calm but skeptical, she believes that Rose went somewhere, she's not one to lie and Kanaya doesn't sense any kind of sarcasm] My world was destroyed long before I arrived here, as was your planet, Prospit, Derse, all of it. What is there left to go back to?

[She watched Rose, wondering for a moment where she was going before realizing she was just coming to her side of the table. After her promise, Kanaya places one of her hands on top of Rose's. It has been so long since she has touched another being.]

I will fight as well, for you, the others who were harmed, for myself. This is not something that can go on.

[Rose doesn't really want to talk about it, but she slowly shifts her hand to entwine their fingers in response.]

We need to request an audience with our apparent saviors.

[she gives her hand a small squeeze and stares at their intertwined fingers]

You don't suppose if we ask to speak with them via the suggestion box they will show up?

They have been known to respond to messages on the network as well. We can attempt both.

[She's just going to. Lean against Kanaya a little.

[Kanaya shifts her body so Rose's leaning isn't as awkward]

~~[And at least your age is double digits, you'd need to take off your shoes to count to it, try being 6. Growing up is hard and no one understands.]~~

I don't know if I'm prepared to confront them just yet.

[A hand goes to her stomach again]

[And Rose uses her other hand to gently grasp the one Kanaya reached towards her stomach, squeezing it gently before resting it down on the table.]

We'll wait.

[She gives her a small smile in thanks but slowly takes one of her hands back. If she ruined the moment by doing so, she really didn't mean to, but she is really hungry right now. She spears a few small pieces of meat and some vegetables and pauses right before she takes a bit]

I hope you don't mind me eating, I was going just short of starving myself before and I would like to regain some strength.

[Kanaya succeeded in no moment ruining-- Roses attempt was merely to stop the trolls impulse of grabbing at her stomach.]

[It takes her a while to cut the food, not only because she's only using one hand (as she's not letting go of Rose) but after a month it became habit to watch how much she ate. At this point she was just cutting it to give her more time to convince herself to eat it. She ate as slowly as she cut.]

Thank you. Are you not hungry yourself?
