i'll take you on;
Characters: Ken and open!
Setting: The meadow floor (25).
Format: Either.
Summary: Ken's looking for some sparring practice. Hopefully people will answer his request from his network post.
Warnings: Violence, probably language. idk what else.
Ken didn't really care who came to see him in the meadow. Hopefully it would be at least one person, but he needed the practice anyway. He'd brought a few spears, in case anyone came to learn, but his more sturdy spear was in his hands.
He thrust forward, backward, and then planted it in the ground, using it like a pole vault to leap forward. He couldn't go as far as he used to - he still needed to adjust for weight. He wasn't as short as he used to be. Really, his spears probably needed to be extended, but he'd have to find someone to help with that.
He didn't trust everyone here. He couldn't. Really, there were only a few people he could trust - but that was enough for him. Still, better to give off the illusion of friendliness and openness in a place like this.
... He was thinking too much. Hopefully someone would show soon.

"Good call, but I will not let you win so easily!" While he is grinning at Dike, his words are for Ken. He is proud of how quickly and clearly the boy is thinking. That means Diarmuid can step up the use of his own abilities.

He switches back to his spear quickly, trying another leap with the spear - both feet forward this time. There's no time for breaks in battle.

Quick thinking deserves quick action, so that is why Diarmuid allows himself to use more of his speed. He easily dodges Ken's attack, spinning himself and his spear around, bringing Gae Dearg's weighted end up aimed at the back of Ken's head.

"Take a moment and regather yourself. Are you okay?"

He'll... hold off on the electricity, though.

"It does. Please do get creative. I find it hard to teach people with concussions from getting hit too many times in the head," Diarmuid laughs softly before moving to attack. This time he leaps up over Ken's head, attempting, again, to attack from behind. The repetition has purpose. He wants to see how fast he can get Ken to start watching his back a little closer.
