[Colette remembered Christmas last year. It was such fun! A happy celebration to help distract people from the painful events they suffered. And why not have another Christmas celebration this year for the exact same reason?

Besides, everyone was fighting to get out of the tower and return to their homes. Who knows if they would succeed? Colette was sure there was a way to save everyone but any sort of encouragement was good, especially after recent events. So what about a good luck charm for everyone?

So, early December, she had decided to give presents. For a while, she spent time in the workshop. She was not exactly a skilled craftsman but she tried her hardest. By December 26th, Colette had made several wooden carvings of dogs - or at least vaguely-shaped like dogs. Again, Colette isn't a very good craftsman.

For the next few days, she can be found exploring the tower. If you bump into her, Colette will hand a funny wooden figurine thing to you.]

Hey! Here, this is for you. I know it's not much, but it's a good-luck charm! We all need one in this place.

[Diarmuid hardly notices Colette until she presses something into his hands. Not because he's trying to be rude, but because mind isn't there at the moment. It's in his partner's room, with Waver who has been in an extreme amount of pain the last few days as his real powers have slowly been coming back.

He's only away from Waver's side at the moment to retrieve his dog, Mac an Chuill from his room. It's not fair to leave the dog locked up in the room the whole time or expect his brother to take care of him. Thankfully, the dog is well trained and shouldn't cause any trouble. Besides, he likes Waver.

When Diarmuid realizes he has been given something, he pauses to look first at it and then the person who gave it to him.]

Colette? What is this?

It's a doggy, Diarmuid. [It looks vaguely like one] Merry Christmas!

[Diarmuid turns the carving over in his hands. Beside him, Mac an Chuill puts his head nearly into Diarmuid's hands trying to get a sniff at what his owner has been given.]

Hey you, stop that.

[He pushes the dog back before addressing Colette again.]

I can tell that much, but why are you giving out wooden dog figures as Christmas presents? Do you like dogs?

Oh, I love dogs! They are so happy and friendly! What's this one's name? [And she puts a hand forward so she can pet him.] I bet he's a Bubbles! That's a nice name for him. [Colette plz]

Anyway, I thought I'd give them out to make people happy. We've only got a few months left and everyone needs all the good luck they can get so we can all escape the tower!

Cafeteria

[Veronica glanced up from her meal of nutrition bars - ick - at Collette. She looked at the figure being handed to her, then at the person that had handed it to her in the first place.]

Uh, w-what is t-this?

[Her eyes drifted to the wooden dog. Slowly, she took it from the girl.]

I... t-thank you. I d-do l-like it, but... why are you giving me it?

It's a good luck charm. We all need one in a place like this! Also it's Christmas .

[It wasn't strange for Zelos to run into Colette when he was meandering about the Tower, and today was no different. He gives his trademark smile when he receives the gift.]

I hope so. I know there is a way out of this tower. We might not know it yet, but that doesn't mean we should give up.

On the Stairwell (UGH, THIS ADORABLE COLETTE)

[Jade is not familiar with Christmas, not having any such holiday in his homeworld and having completely missed any celebrations this time around--were there any, even? Or have they simply not yet come to pass? Jade wouldn't know or care either way, holidays being a non-priority for him. So when he passes Colette on the stairs and nods to her in acknowledgement if not exactly proper greeting, and she responds by holding out a wooden figurine, he gives it a mildly nonplussed look before smiling at her.]

A good luck charm, hm? Thank you. I appreciate the sentiment.

[And so he accepts it! He also glances at whatever Colette might be carrying all these things in.]

...Pardon my curiosity, but precisely how many of these did you make, miss?

I certainly can't disagree with you, though I'm sorry to say I don't personally believe in luck.

[Speaking of guys with their heads in the clouds, this guy was floating his way through the tower by virtue of his suit's flight system, intently looking at the letter he'd recieved just before the kerfluffle with Jason. He'd been trying to figure out who this Romeo guy is and what "room number two on floor one" is. Floor One was the cafeteria, wasn't it? But he thought it was just one big room—]

Huh?

[He looks up from the letter to see Colette there.]

Oh—hey, thanks.

[He'll free up a hand to take the carving she's offering him.]

Dis a talisman of some kind?

[He glances back down at the wooden figurine for a moment, turning it over in his hand. He's ... not really sure what kind of animal this is supposed to be, but it's got to be one, right? It has four legs!]

Sorry I'm late! 27th in the dorm hall okay?

[Sheena's still recovering from the pain of having her powers returned, but if there's one thing she is, that's a horrible patient. So, it will probably come as no surprise to anyone who knows her that she's up and about, wandering the halls of the dorm section, both keeping busy and trying to recover even faster.

She had just re-entered her room's floor when she finds a distinctly wooden object in her hand, and a smiling Colette right behind it.

Tucking her pain away, she looks from the figure to her friend and smiles in return.]

Thanks, Colette! [She peers at the other carvings.] You've got quite a lot of these!

[Whatever "these" are. It's animal-shaped, that's all Sheena knows, but she's not going to hurt her friend's feelings by asking what it is.]

No worries. I'm late too.

Ah, it's nothing, Sheena. I just heard of this wonderful celebration called Christmas last year and thought....well, after all that has happened, I thought it wouldn't hurt to give Christmas presents to everyone.

[Sheena's brows are still knit in confusion, but at least the reason is no longer trying to decipher what's in her hand.]

"Christmas?" Is it a festival where you give gifts?

[Now Sheena wishes she had something for her friend.]

[ooc: BTW, according to the Abyss wrap-up, Sheena died against Jason, so there's that to work in now, too! :D]

[Capell blinked as Colette handed him the charm, having not seen her since she had rescued Amelia.

He had actually been meaning to find her, after receiving things from home, something that it seemed had happened to everyone again much like it had when he had received the damasc cloth.] Thank you... Why are you giving me this?
