[When Waver leans against him, Diarmuid starts to wrap an arm around his partner's shoulders out of habit, just barely stopping himself when he realizes that would mean resting his arm over the crest that is so paining Waver at the moment. He starts to drop his arm around Waver's waist instead, but again stops himself when he realizes just how hard the man is gripping at his shoulder. Careful to avoid the bumping the crest, he reaches around Waver and laces his fingers with the magus' in an attempt to pull his partner's hand away before he does any damage.
To be quite honest, what Waver is saying terrifies Diarmuid. What if Waver's crest returning all at once burns out his circuits? Could Waver end up like Kayneth had?]
