[Sephiroth's sudden blink back into reality is preceded by a spark of electricity connecting almost exactly with that spot. It might be considered that the two were connected events, even if they aren't.

The tall silver haired man blinks as first Barong, and then Minato behind him return to his focus. In a motion almost too-quick to be seen, his left hand is flicked and Masamune is suddenly there, curved along the back of his forearm and held in front defensively.]

Minato.

[It's a cautious test. Surely if the boy with the Persona was going to attack this would be the opportunity he'd take.]

[His grip almost tightens when he realised it's Sephiroth and the ever so familiar Masamune was there.

Between Ryoji's old warning about Sephiroth, the one that made him stopped their lessons, and hearing about Sephiroth's presence for the Nyx Avatar's appearance. He didn't see him there, but...it did little to remove his unease and his mixed feelings.]

...Sephiroth.

[But attacking him Sephiroth right here and now? How would it help anyone, when it's likely he'd just get killed?]

[Sephiroth has only reacted to the raised sword plus Persona that he's been suddenly faced with. Apparently Minato has some sort of teleportation trick as well that he's used to suddenly appear here like that as well. What else could he want other than a fight.

His grip flexes around Masamune's hilt but neither does he move to attack or step out of his stance. It's odd, why hasn't the boy attacked yet...

Burning green embers within his eyes, in the darkness flick all over Minato and the accompanying familiar. Waiting for any sign of the imminent attack. Silently testing them.]

[Minato can still feel the urge to turn his back and run. How he almost take a step back away from Sephiroth.

At this point, either a tactical retreat or negotiations are the best choices. Better than engaging Sephiroth in battle, without a clear goal or a guaranteed strategy for victory.

He lowers his sword a little, but his grip haven't loosen.]

...I'm not here to fight.

[Sephiroth interprets the lowered sword as a test to his resolve. He won't back down so readily, if anything Sephiroth's stance nearly hums with the impending fight.]

Then why are you here?

[Slightest head tilt in the direction of the Persona.]

Patrolling.

[Minato saw that headtilt, before willing Barong to relax. The Persona doesn't look like it's about to pounce Sephiroth, but it's still watching him.]

Barong is immune electricity, so his presence is useful.

[For every Persona he called forth, he temporarily take on their resistances until he change them. Thus, using Barong is only logical.]

[Start move. Sephiroth too relaxes fractionally as Barong is called off. Somehow Minato didn't seem to actually do anything though so this piques a curiosity in a quick lift of the corner of an eyebrow. He's heard of Persona, during his stay in the Tower and has seen Minato use one before, but it's still rather odd to him.

Also, there would be no warning if Minato suddenly urged the Persona to attack again.]

Oh. That makes sense.

[Finally, Sephiroth uncurls the tension from within his frame and steps back out of his ready-stance.]

[For now, it looks like they won't be getting into a fight. Perhaps using his Personas would help, if he can switch around and summon them fast enough.]

What brings you here?

[Since, as far as Minato's concerned, Sephiroth just suddenly appear out of nowhere. Did he learn how to teleport or increase his speed immensely...?]

[Minato is the one that has suddenly appeared. Sephiroth has been here all the time, patrolling also; or at least as far as he's aware. But Minato isn't the only one who has raised this alarm with him, and the difference between Minato and Romeo alone now makes him question.]

What do you mean?

[Generally keeping one eye on the Persona]

[He blinks and frowns a little. Sephiroth wasn't aware of this? Which is probably the truth, unless there's a reason for him to lie.]

You just showed up in front of me out of nowhere. [Quite literal, in his view.] Did you just...teleport?

[Minato's frown only concerns him further. Something was going on for sure, other than the obvious damage to the Tower, that is.]

I did not- [Not denying that he might be able to.]

I could ask the same to you.

[It's now Sephiroth's turn to frown more.]

[How odd and his frown deepens at it.]

I'm pretty sure nothing happened to me... Is it a problem related to the tower?

[It's the logical assumption to make.]

Could be.

[His attention logically moves from Minato to the unstable looking core of the stairwell as it sparks again. Sephiroth even takes half a stride towards the outer wall of the stairwell to make sure he's not in range.]

Could be one of a many set of problems, considering.

[Minato steps a little further away from the stairwell, watching it sparks with an almost cackling noise. His Persona follows next to him, standing between him and the statics.]

I hope they fix this, since it'd be annoying to travel around. [Any worse and they might get stranded on a floor, far from their dorms in one of the worse case scenarios.] If they're not too busy right now.

[A careful gaze is cast again over the Persona. Well, he supposes they'll know about it if another spark hits the thing first. He wonders, what would happen to it if it was struck-

Dismissing the thought Sephiroth drags his gaze from the center column to Minato once more.]

Wouldn't it-

[He wonders to approach it again, what would be the worst that could happen, other than dying again.]

[If it's simply electricity, Minato would receive it as energy, restoring some of his stamina he might had lost. Otherwise...well, he'll deal with the potential mental backlash.]

Wouldn't it what? Cause something harmful?

Be annoying to travel around-

[He wonders perhaps if the various rips in the fabric of reality could be used to transport around the Tower, by extension, not an all too -llogical train of thought to consider.]

What happens to the Persona when it gets hit by one of those sparks?

If it's just electricity, Barong would absorb it as energy for me to use.

[Normally as an increase in his stamina, like a boost of adrenaline...]

If it's harmful enough, he would return to me. [Because the possible mental backlash would disrupt his focus. The downside of Personas being so intrinsically linked to his psyche.]

[Sephiroth gestures with a tilt of his head towards where a new rip in reality seemed to have opened up a few steps up the next flight of stairs]

What about that? That's not just electricity...

[Minato stares at that newly formed rip. That look quite unwelcoming to him.]

...I rather not risk that.

[Like what if his Persona get torn away from him?]

[Just about as unwelcoming as it also looks to Sephiroth. After a few moments he decides that he doesn't blame Minato for erring on the side of caution with regard to it. He would be wanting to push an extension of himself at something mostly unknown, either.]

Probably for the best. I-

[He looks down the stairwell for a moment before nodding to Minato finally.]

I'm heading off that way-

[He can deal with hearing absolute silence from his Personas, but it doesn't mean he's looking forward to it. Minato looks up at Sephiroth and nods.]

Alright. [A slight pause. It might be strange to say, but...] Take care.
