Summary: Enoch doesn't do tech, himself, but he sure as hell can find people that can. It's a mad scramble for Dax's research before time runs out!
Warnings: Things may happen to those involved, and there's no telling what they'll find...

*Everyone who offered their services to the cause will receive a letter in their mailbox (except Mitchell, whom Enoch will contact with whatever method he left him with):

It's time. Meet me in the place.

When everyone is gathered in the secret room, Enoch has to take a moment to take in the sight of this odd group, one of which has endangered his life personally and deliberately. But that didn't matter now, not now when their worlds were at stake.*

You already know what I've gathered you all for. This is strictly for finding what Dax has left us. We must try not to alert Ruana - she is always awake now, so this will be difficult. Do nothing that would immediately draw her attention - do not pursue anything related to her, or to the number thirty-seven. Try to mask your steps, and the others', as well as you can. My role here is as a scribe - I will be making rounds among you and transcribing what you have found, and carrying any messages you may have for the others among the group. We will not escape punishment for this. If you wish to back out now, you may. But this is for our worlds. Does anyone have any questions before we go?

[The Turk is no coward. Enoch's warning is appreciated, but at this point he has little to lose and whatever punishment they receive couldn't be much worse than some of the things he's already endured.

But Reno does look nervous, and unusually so for him. His skills aren't the top of the line they need, so he's starting to wonder if he should even be here with how much is at stake.

Meanwhile, he's standing to the side and looking thoughtful, like he has a few things on his mind, but didn't really want to voice them.]

*The nervousness doesn't go unnoticed. Enoch approaches him, to speak to him quietly.* Are you nervous about this, Reno?

[Reno shrugs. What's the point in lying?]

Yeah. It's been a while since I had to go through certifications for this kinda thing.

[Of course, one of the other people who notices his nervousness is one of the ones who knows him... not the best, but better, probably. She hopes.

She approaches him, a wry smile on her face]

It's okay. I'm nervous too.

[Reno's tension melts a little, but it's replaced by worry for her.]

Yeah, but you shouldn't even be here, Sweets. This isn't goin' to be pretty.

[Gas mask and incredibly good looking suit on, he was more than ready for a bit of business to get done. So long as he was not implicated in any way, shape or form to this event, he was completely kosher with everything. In fact he applauds hacking into servers of others to dig up some dirt, private enterprise and all of that.

But more importantly there was always that off chance that they may be capable of finding that little piece of diamond hidden among the coal.

It doesn't matter what punishment may occur on the others, how many got hurt. So long as the end result had something to show for it. After all, there are no rules, there is no honor, only victory.]

Post-briefing

[Richtofen looks particularly alert today. He spends the entirety of Enoch's briefing sizing up the others, arms crossed over his chest, eyebrows quirked. He knows most of the people present, some vaguely, others intimately (though intimate is not necessarily good, such as in Enoch's case).

Once Enoch is finished, he gives a low whistle.]

Punishment, hmm? I suppose it won't be very creative, now that Jason's gone. [He shrugs.] So I am not particularly afraid.

[Ruana's punishment is probably worse than Jason's, but whatever, shut up, leave him alone.]

...I suppose I should remind you Riki is the creative mind of the tower.

*Everyone deserves fair warning, even this guy.* But we know to expect it, at least. We will deal with the punishment when we face it. For now...the research is more important.

Asagi rolls her eyes and shrugs a little as Enoch finishes, keeping the particulars in mind for when she actually gets to work, and asks mildly-]

Any ideas on markers or clues he might've left?

His designation on the network was "ADMIND", all one word. I don't know much of these things, but these designations seem to be important. A filter can keep anyone other than the specified from seeing what is beneath it. Does that not mean it watches for names that do not match? It might follow that you could watch for anywhere his name appears or was used.

[Naoya listens to what Enoch says, and approaches him afterwards.]

At some point we should search for Jason's research. Not today. But soon, or else I should look for it on my own.

We should... In case Dax hadn't discovered a way. *He nods soberly. Everyone they care about...he'd been banking on their worlds' restoration being enough, but they need this in case it's not.*

HACKING

[Naoya wastes no time in diving into the servers. He's hacked through these things before, and so he knows the usual paths - and avoids them. No sense in using the same way twice, if he's trying to mask his steps. He keeps an eye out for both things that may have changed and the paths the others are taking - and does his best to cover the latter.]

[Tempting as looking for information regarding Ruana is, that's not what he's here for. Looking for Jason's information is also tempting, but no. He's here for Dax's information and only Dax's. He can break in on his own later if he feels like it.]

[It's easier to get into the servers this time than it might otherwise be--as if security has been deliberately kept low for them by someone else. Once Dax's sections of the server are accessed, though, the screen flickers and freezes for a moment before displaying a command line.]

[Reno hesitates a moment at his own terminal, before placing his hands on the keyboard and starting. This isn't his field of expertise, and he's ferverently wishing Cissnei was here. She always knew the way to get into these things, and if she had been, he's sure they'd succeed and probably get away without being discovered.

But she's not, and all he has to go on are those training sessions he'd gotten into after that stupid incident with the malfunctioning roboguards and the elevator.

He's hoping they'll be enough, and his own experience messing around with these terminals.

In he goes, looking for any filter or mention of ADMIND, but also keeping an eye out for anything else that might be interesting.]

[With so many people pushing into the network it's only a matter of time before someone notices that they're there, and wants to kick them out. S, he works fast, he works thoroughly, picking up anything that might be useful as he does so. He had hacked into the Towe's systems before and uploaded an army of viruses onto the terminals. The main challenge here was to hurry up and find something, anything, useful.

Whether it be about Ruana, Dax, Riki, Zo or your mom, he doesn't care. Information is information. And he is currently attempting to swim in it.]

[Some information is on tighter lockdown than others. Riki's sections of the server seem to be on complete lockdown, with Ruana's sections almost as tightly locked. Dax's sections of the server are accessible, as are Zo's.]

[As soon as the hacking begins, Richtofen shuts up and focuses on his work. He's programmed quite a few computers in his time, so he's familiar with the usual tricks meant to keep intruders out. He tries to bypass the usual blockades first, but also keeps his eyes peeled for anything abnormal.

He'll be sticking to the mission for the most part, but he also makes sure to keep an eye out for any of Jason's information. Hey, they're both dead, so what's the harm in digging around in their stuff, right?]

[Getting through the initial security is easier than it might otherwise be--from that point, both the ADMIND and ADMINJ options are available to him, though he will have to pick one or the other to start with.]

[This is the first time she's participated in this sort of thing - really participated, since last time she'd been diverted to distraction at the departure of the original organizer. She hesitates a little, remembering the punishment Riki gave them last time. But this was about their worlds.

She still isn't sure she likes the sensation of letting her programming - or whatever it is - take over, guiding her fingers as she works. It's a reminder of who made her and the type of things she may have been made for - possibilities made all the more real by what she saw in the mirror. But for what she has to do, she needs it.

She gets faster as she works - she doesn't know any phrases about bike riding but if she did, they'd be applicable here. Focusing specifically on looking for files on Dax. If there are any files on all the admins, she might investigate those, but only after all or most other possibilities have been exhausted. There's too much risk to get careless.]

[Getting through to the approach of Dax's files is simple--as if security has been lowered specifically for them--but once Dax's sections of the server are accessed, the screen flickers and freezes for a moment before displaying a command line.]

[Asagi doesn't waste time with pretending she's not going to tear the entire system a new one if she's interrupted, settling at her console with her fingers already moving over the keys. She pulls her legs up to cross in the chair, slumping forward almost lazily, her eyes half-lidded as she starts pushing past standard directories and into areas she knows she shouldn't be seeing, expression impassive.

Honestly, she's good at computers- not as good as some of her sisters but hey. Everyone's got their areas. She's still no slouch- even the least talented Neogene is more than a match for even the highest government security protocols, not to mention the NSWF's considerable security.

There isn't much, in her opinion, that the tower's systems are going to be able to hide from her.

Of course, she could be wrong.

In which case, this might prove to be worth the trouble.]
