mages are bad swordsmen
Characters: Naoya and open
Setting: Floor 25
Format: Whichever.
Summary: Naoya got a sword, and is trying to remember how to use it properly. Unfortunately, physical skills are not so easily remembered.
Warnings: Naoya is probably only a danger to himself in this log, really. At least he has a healing spell.
[Naoya - or rather, Cain - had used swords before. It wasn't an uncommon weapon through the years, and it wasn't always that he'd had relatively weak physical strength. In some lives, he'd been extremely physically strong.]
[However, this life - Naoya - is… less so. He's still strong, but when he lifts the arming sword he struggles slightly with the weight. He needs to practice, and the meadow has enough space to wave a sharp object around with a minimal risk of hurting someone other than himself.]
[Which is how he's come to be in the meadow, going through old drills. His movements are a mixture of various styles, but he's rusty with them. His movements, while quick, lack power. The weight of the blade is significant enough that he occasionally has to set it down and rub his wrists, which is a good time for anyone who's been watching to speak or be noticed.]

Whoa! That's... really impressive. I think that's older than any of the nations from my world were. You must have all kinds of memories.

Tell you what? About how I was forced to kill my brother? How I was driven from my home and family? How my name has been used as a curse for thousands of years?

Uh... I just meant something small and mundane, like... anything. [He wants to ask Naoya just "what" he is, but he actually uses some discretion for once in his life and shelves that for now.]
I guess it's my turn, then? Uh... well. I met my brother when he was just a little bitty thing. Barely even a country. He used to get sick all the time because of the stuff his people were doing, so I always took care of him.
[Prussia's state of mind is like trying to insert your foot in your mouth and kicking yourself in the face instead.]

[Ugh. Okay. Let's stop dancing around it.]
... I'm Cain. Or at least, that was my name in the first lifetime I had.

Cain? Like... Biblical Cain? Wow. Huh. That makes things make a bit more sense, I guess.
Do you think any of that still matters, though? I mean, the situation is totally different now. Though I guess you're not really allowed to forget or move on, are you...
[He's kind of tongue-tied now and so he can't quite articulate his point.]

I have never forgotten, and I never can. Not until I break this curse. Once we finish here, perhaps I can find another world that has a solution. There's nothing left to me in my world anymore. Not since my brother chose to join Him.
