Family gained family lost
Characters: Veronica, open
Setting: The infirmary, morgue, and the hundreth floor. Backdated to the eighth of April
Format: Anything! Go right ahead
Summary: Veronica's lost someone important and it only makes her want to go home more.
Warnings: Usual tower stuff
The Infirmary
[Things have changed in the tower considerably since Veronica arrived here all the way back in Augest. She'd changed. People came and went, and died and respawned, and she was still here, still stuck in this home away from home. And with the timer counting down closer and closer to whatever that would happen when the timer came to an end and the power left the tower once and for all. A choice had to be made, and Veronica finally decided that now was the time to do it.
So she sat in the waiting area of the infirmary, waiting for the time when her checkup would come. She knew about the different fluid of course, how it took your abilities for a while. It was nowhere near the worst thing that could happen to her, and at least she was doing it of her own accord this time.]
The Morgue
[The morgue was quiet now without Rick working alongside her. She'd barely been able to work up the energy to come here and work after the collar check up regardless, but that was seemingly the cherry on top.
Her duties needed attending to though, so she scrubbed away at the tables and tools and chambers on the walls. At the least, he left behind his tools so she could use them. That didn't help the depression she felt, but it was a little comforting.]
Floor 100
[The floor wasn't frequented by Veronica. The fact that it was all just a crude illusion, showing one what they desired to see from home, very distressing. She found herself there today though, staring up at the large, walls of the Madaraki estate.
It wasn't real, but then again the picture in her hands that appeared in her trunk earlier in the month was probably fake too. The necklace probably was too and so on and so forth. A depressing thought, that everything she'd gotten during her stay here was made of film and whatever else.]
...How long will it take me to get home this time?

[He may have snuck in unannounced and is now snooping.]
no subject
You're still on that?
no subject
[He shrugged, not really seeing why he should follow someone who claimed ignorance to obvious facts and appeals to the masses openly.]
But on a more serious note, what are you planning?
no subject
Planning? I'm not really planning anything right now.
[She paused.]
Except what I'll do when the countdown ends, I guess.
no subject
[Curosity begets the need for answers and all that. Besides he might, just might, be a tiny bit concerned for her. Just a tiny bit though.]
no subject
Oh. Well, I guess if we don't all just die I'll go wherever most of the other residents go. Unless my world doesn't stay dead forever.
[A rather bleak hope, but she wanted to see her family again.]
I just switched to the different collar fluid.
no subject
[When there is still so many unanswered questions it was always best to not complete believe in exactly everything being said. Such as worlds being dead.]
But now why in the world did you do something that silly? What brought to do that?
no subject
[She's still holding out hope, but she might as well try and wake up.]
I guess I just decided to? And it's supposed to bring back your real abilities instead of the glamour ones.
no subject
[Well obviously she has never watched Star Wars then, for there is no try.]
Hey, more power to you then...just be careful with what you do. Freedom is what you do with what has been done to you.

no subject
[In other words, Riki fiddling around with something and Ruana getting stronger by the day.]
no subject
[They'd probably be in much dire straits if that was the case.]
no subject
[Another pause.]
Also, the end of the world is signaled when the dead rise from their graves. They will eat and drink everything that we do and will outnumber us all.
no subject
[If it was their key home, it was probably important.]
I've fought the dead a few times. They're not that hard to destroy.
no subject
[Veronica you need to think like a conspiracy theorist.]
They are...but apparently you have never fought an entire town of zombies, ghosts and things that I cannot quite describe.
no subject
[Anyone that was being targeted by the Admins was a good person, right?]
I fought an entire cemetery of ghouls to keep them from getting into a town once.
no subject
[Think like a conspiracy theorist, Veronica!]
And I fought an entire army of them that just would not stay dead, along with a cemetery of them and more.
no subject
Uh, I'll try not too. I can take care of myself.
[Well, that gets a quizzical glance at him.]
Really? Do you hunt them or something?
no subject
Just because you are capable of doing so, does not mean that others are.
As for your question...I probably said a bit too much there.
no subject
[Just a minor slip of the tongue, nothing important.]
no subject
[Yep, an example was all that was. Drink and forget.]
no subject
Okay, I will.
no subject
No you won't. In a few days time, you will march off like everyone else at the behest of Aria. Running blind and most likely in a dangerous situation that you really should not have gotten yourself into.
no subject
[Just sitting around doing nothing didn't really sit well with her.]
I don't wanna just do nothing while the countdown continues.
