Follow the fairy dust [For Vriska and also open]

Characters: Taiki, Vriska and anyone who wants to meet him in the coridoors before he gets lured to his death
Setting: Library, Cafeteria life and Dorm Coridoors
Format: Starting in prose, I'll follow you
Summary: Taiki gets lured by fairy dust to be spidermom food
Warnings: Death

Taiki was slowly settling in, even though he had been in the Tower more than a month now, nearer two his decent into paranoia had made getting his bearings very hard. Not to mention he had managed to annoy most of the people in the tower, and so even now he was worried he would intrude on them.

He left the library where he had been looking at what books they had and went down into the cafeteria. He wasn't hungry but the lift was the only way for him to get up to the dormatries because he couldn't go through Floor seventeen.

He exited the lift and set off towards his room, now he had made up with Eridan he didn't have to avoid his room anymore.

Vriska had been combing the tower for victims - non-troll victims to be exact - when she'd found him and quietly followed and watched his movements before devising a plan of attack. Kids were curious, so maybe... Vriska made sure she was well out of sight when she started purposefully making a thick trail of fairy dust through the hallways. She had made a sort of game out of it (wasn't that how she always dealt with Spidermom?), fluttering up the stairs and winding a twisting path through the stairwells and finally into the forest where she dodged around trees, looking for where she had left Spidermom with her impressive web and ravenous appetite.

She'd put off feeding her long enough, it was time to suck it up and start luring people to their deaths. And if she really had to justify it, anyone stupid enough to follow her trail into the forest really deserved to die. And so she hid herself in a tall tree, wings hidden away, and waited. Hoped her plan worked like she thought it would. Spidermom wouldn't be happy if she had to keep waiting. She knew that from past experiences.

The Spider in question was indeed humongous, with equally large fangs to match. The web she had spun was huge and intricate, no doubt as thick as steel judging by the size of the creature who spun it. All eight of Spidermom's eyes focused on the alien in front of her, fangs splitting to release a hungry scream.

She wasted no time in launching both of her forelegs forward in an attempt to impale her next meal.

Meanwhile, Karkat had maneuvered himself to hide just under Vriska in the brush below so he wouldn't be spotted. Again, he was wrapped in the basic white suit he had received upon arrival in an attempt to make him indistinguishable from his doppelganger. This would be an easy meal, and then they wouldn't have to worry about this crap for another three days or so.

Vriska almost gasped, but she snapped her mouth shut tightly and glanced down in Karkat's direction. Leave it to her to pick a prey that was hard to deal with. It was just her luck. Well, at least Spidermom would get a nice fighting prey out of it, she'd probably like that. Not that she could imagine the thrill of eating something that was fighting back. In fact it sort of grossed her out to think about it.

Despite the fact that the entire feeding process was disgusting to her, she couldn't bring herself to look away from the sight. Partly because it was a little fascinating and partly because she was worried that with size of that... thing Spidermom might actually get hurt.

Karkat had completely paled, leaving his skin almost ghost white to match his suit, jaw hanging. Great. Just great. His eyes flickered up to Vriska for a moment before they fell back to Spidermom. If she died and came back again, they would get eaten for sure. Feeding or not, it was still his lusus. He didn't relish the idea of seeing her injured.

Spidermom chattered viciously again, sensing her child's fear. The lusus raised her forelegs to catch the charging beast in an attempt to either spear it or throw it into the steel webbing to trap it.

Damn it! This wasn't how it was supposed to go. This should have been easy, just an easy prey for Spidermom. But it looked like she'd gone and fucked up and brought back a freak of nature. Vriska cursed quietly and slipped off the branch she was on to join Karkat in his hiding spot, nudging him a little forcefully.

"Hey, Vantas. You can force sleep, right?" An extremely quiet hiss so as not to give them away. She didn't actually wait for an answer from him, turning her focus on the victims, fingers pressed against her temples as she concentrated. Go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep.

Spidermom was oblivious to the other prey dashing away from her, focused struggling to sink her jaws into Gohran in order to paralyze the beast for consumption. She wasn't going to chase down prey when she already had some so close to her.

Karkat, on the other hand, was shaking enough to rustle the brush until Vriska elbowed him to get his attention. "Wha--oh. OH," Karkat cried, suddenly jostled to attention. He himself turned to concentrate on the fleeing creature, struggling to overcome his own nerves in order to force his will to send Sanshi to sleep.

Vriska couldn't relax even when she knew they were asleep. She crouched next to Karkat to wait for Spidermom to finish the first one off. This was alright- they'd gotten it under control easily enough. And their- his lusus would get three meals this way. She hadn't screwed up so royally after all.

With that obsticle out of the way, Spidermom had no trouble plucking the creature off her legs and swallowing it whole. Interestingly enough, unlike some other lusii, the arachnid was a rather neat eater and sought to clean her forelegs off first before she began stomping her way toward the other two.

Karkat ducked down behind the bush again, letting his concentration relax in an effort to get his hands to stop shaking. That was way too close.
