It's a bad time to look like a ghost.

Characters: Naminé and passersby.

Summary: Reaction to the network posts. It's not a good time to look like a ghost when glanced at in passing.
Warnings: None yet besides creepy.

[Naminé is not about to respond to those posts. She can't even quite bring herself to touch the computer again at all, despite the fact that that second message is stuck on repeat. Moving away from the terminal seems to be beyond her at this point, too, or perhaps it's something else that keeps her sitting there in the pale light of the screen, totally still, her eyes wide and her white-knuckled hands gripping the sides of the chair. Dressed in white and with her already light skin blanched, she looks more than a little ghostly when viewed in passing.]

[Okay that looping voice is creepy and unnerving and very very bothersome and Fawkes does not like it. Unfortunately it's rattled him enough that he's not patient enough to try and figure out how to make it stop properly.]

[So he rips the terminal out, smashing it into the floor in a rather...not-encouraging display of fear-fueled fury. Once he's done, he pants a bit, turning toward Naminé as he straightens out.]

I... Apologize for this.

--!!! [Naminé startles very obviously, letting out a surprised noise. Once the terminal's smashed, though, she just stares down at it with wide eyes, then looks back up at him, still seated as though frozen in place. Since she's never actually met him before this, his appearance does not, in conjunction with his actions, make her at all confident that she wants to continue to stay put. She did just experience some very creepy things, after all, and one more possibly dangerous situation would not be at all unexpected.]

[She stiffens a bit when he turns toward her, and then... apologizes? She blinks once, then twice, confusion leaking into her expression. ...There's not really much she can find to say other than,] ...It's okay?

I am glad, then. [He sighs, flexing a hand, and rubbing it a bit with the opposite one.] I regret having to use such measures to stop that... sound, but it needed to be done.

[He looks to the girl again, somehow managing a concerned expression.] Are you unharmed?

[He's considerably more civil than she expected after that, but she's not exactly displeased by that. Perhaps he was just upset. She starts to open her mouth to ask why he needed to smash the computer if it could have just been turned off, but stops. He felt it necessary, for whatever reason that might have been. She's still trying to decide whether to ask or not when she hears his question.] --Yes. I'm not hurt. [But he was rubbing his hand, so it seems reasonable to ask,] Are you?

[Well, that message was unsettling enough once. Having it on repeat could drive a person to do rather untoward things. Like smash a computer.]

[He nods at her answer, then waves off the question with a shake of his head.] I shall be fine - if anything, it will bruise for a short time.

Oh. Good. I'm sorry-- about the bruise. [Not that a bruise was the greatest of his or anyone else's worries, but she definitely wouldn't wish it on anyone.] But... why did you do that? [Looks like curiosity won out.]

You need not apologize - I did so of my own volition. [And there's the question as to why.]

That...voice. I could not take hearing that voice. [Fawkes visibly shudders - something a bit odd for such a large fellow who normally fearlessly charges headfirst into combat with little regard for personal safety.]

[It's definitely strange to see someone so outwardly intimidating shudder like that, and she lowers her eyes to the ground. For a moment, she regards the wreckage of the terminal, although it appears she's thinking of something other than the ruined machine.] ...I know what you mean. She--.... [Naminé just shakes her head, slowly, then squeezes her eyes shut.] It's too terrible to bear. [Her eyes open again, then,] But why destroy the machine when you could have just turned it off?

[Fawkes nods, then looks rather sheepish at Naminé's next question. He sighs, rubbing at his head.] That would have been ideal, but stress causes one to do odd things. That, and they were built for individuals with smaller hands than I.

I... see. [He is rather... large in general. She looks down at her own hands. Huh. She never really thought about how hard it would be to press buttons if her hands were gigantic before, but the thought occurs to her now.] That must make things difficult for you. [More concerning is the next thought that occurs to her.] ...Do you think the people who run the tower will be angry?

Only when dealing with things that truly require a smaller size. [Which... Was a lot. Typing, eating with utensils, going through most doorways. The list goes on.]

They may be angry, but I am not too worried.

[She can imagine, although she doesn't say it. She just glances at his hands, then back at hers. Well... perhaps it's not as awkward as she imagines. ~~Just keep clinging to hope.~~]

But--... what if they punish you?

[Fawkes considers this, 'hmm'-ing for a moment, then answers.]

I only hope that they are fair with their punishments, if so. After all, actions do have consequences. They may be terrible people, trapping us here and doing awful things to us, but this was still their property.

[Her eyes widen a little, then go back to normal as she frowns and her gaze drifts toward the ground. She can't help thinking that that's a brave way to look at it, and a quite commendable one, but... as she looks at the wreckage of the computer, she finds it's not easy to believe that there will be fairness. She looks back up at him again, mouth still downturned.]

And if they're not fair?

In that case, I will do my best to defend myself, and let them know that I feel that they are being unfair. [After all, he can be quite persuasive, in his own ways...]

[Really, that seems the only appropriate response, the only thing anyone can do. He definitely looks pretty... capable of defending himself, but, from what she's heard, he might not even get the chance. Still,]

...Good luck. I wish you the best.

[The girl gets an affirming nod.] I thank you, as I have the feeling that those wishes will be needed.

[A beat.]

I suppose I should introduce myself, however - I am Fawkes.

--Oh! Right. It's nice to meet you, Fawkes. My name is Naminé.

[Fawkes nods again.] The feeling is mutual.

If you find yourself in some kind of trouble, do not hesitate to ask me for help.

[That makes the smile she worked out for the purposes of proper introduction widen, just a little.]

--Really? Are you sure...? [Because he's more likely to be in trouble than she is right now.]

I am certain - and even if it isn't tied to the events that have transpired here, I will lend aid if needed, as best I can.

That's very kind of you. [She hesitates, though, since, really, she doesn't want to put anyone out because of herself.] And thank you, very much, but-- you don't have to do that for me.

I am aware, but I would like to do so anyway.

...Okay. If you say so. I'll remember.

[There's a quick, sharp nod.] Excellent!

Now, if you will excuse me, my friend, I should check on some others. This...weirdness does not sit well with me.
