Characters:
forcingrins and you
Setting: dormitories/random hallways
Format: starting with brackets but I'll match to whatever!
Summary: The Neophyte wakes up and 1NV3ST1G4T3S.
Warnings: none yet
[It's jarring, to have a thousand hands dragging you toward a gallows and an unjust fate one second and to be paralyzed on a flat (albeit somewhat soft) surface the next. Jarring and, if she's being honest with herself, terrifying. Horrifying. She forces herself to breath as the seconds tick by because it's all she can do, and after a thirty-second long eternity she's free. She practically jumps out of the bed but her assailants are gone, as is the courtblock and all of its inhabitants.
Instead she's wearing unfamiliar clothes and is lacking in the accessories that make her feel herself--her glasses are gone, leaving her yellow-teal eyes naked. So is her cane, and her gloves. Her boots. The chain with the forbidden symbol that she wears close to her heart. A cursory examination of the room leads her to the letters at her bedside and, even better, the chest at the foot of her bed, where she is relieved to find all of those items she was missing and more. Before she leaves the room she'll dress in attire that is proper for a legislacerator and poke around the living space she's found herself in.]
[And once she's done in her room she'll venture out, appropriately dressed and even more appropriately cautious, exploring her new environment while she tries to decide whether she believes the contents of the letters or not. It can be unwise to interrupt a legislacerator's investigation, but in this case a little interruption might be beneficial to her work.]

... But oh, now would be a good time to ask if she knows Dualscar. ]
Ah, may I ask you a question...?

Do you happen to know a troll by the name of Dualscar? If you do, what is he like? I have some doubts as to his integrity, but... I don't want to judge purely by my experiences.
[ That's the nicest way to say "is he always just a dick or what and is he evil?" ]

Orphaner Dualscar?
no subject
Yes, that would be him. We... are staying in the same room. I've much to learn about your people, I am afraid, but I must ask, if you know him at all...
[ There is a pause in the young Hylian's expression, as though they're rather unsure of how to proceed to ask, or what exactly TO ask. All she knew was that he had been insistent on learning of her blood, and, moreover, had also mentioned something about blood colors. She had learned some from other trolls, here, but not nearly enough to fully grasp why it would be good or bad. ]
... Where do his morals lie?

... You'll have to forgive my ignorance on the subject. It's simply that I did not expect my blood to come into question; it is not very important where I'm from.
[ Bluh bluh. She doesn't know about the other species Hyrule is home to (Gorons, Deku Scrubs, Zoras, and actual Kokiri), but she knows most blood is red with her people. Bright red. ]

[ She can't say she LIKES how that sounds, to be frank. It sounded awfully unfair, being born with a certain sort of blood dictating your life? Link knew precious little about anything like that, mostly because her home was a peaceful Kingdom until Ganondorf had invaded it, and she had a somewhat naive mentality regarding certain things.
Surely, anyone else would also think that? ]
... But isn't that unfair? I would think you can't change what color blood you're born with...
no subject
Of course you can't. That would be ridiculous.
no subject
I suppose so, but...
[ It seemed so unfair, to have your life "predetermined" just because of your blood. Part of her can relate to it, though. Her "destiny" had been laid out for her without any choice as to whether she wanted to participate in it.
... She shakes her head. Oops. ]
Oh--I'm sorry. I probably have no right to comment, considering I don't know your customs.

How is it that Hylians know their place in life?
no subject
Ah... the answer is not as simple. Most do what they believe; a family business, what they are talented at...
[ She seems to consider it for quite some time. Ugh what is this talking thing-- ]
I... cannot speak for the majority as I was not raised as one, and we are but one of six peoples that inhabit the same land. However, I do know that... most Hylians I've met expect men to take on the more arduous tasks, or fight.
[ She might look like a boy, but there's still some annoyance in her voice, ever so slight. There's... a pause, here. She's obviously not used to saying quite this much? But she is trying. Even if she feels a bit sheepish. ]
It's somewhat uncommon to see a woman in a position of authority outside of the royal family... or the Goddesses and the female deities who serve them, I suppose. Though the Gerudo people consist entirely of women, save but one male... most are thieves or pirates, but none of them are overly cruel.
