Characters: The Grand Highblood + anyone
Setting: Cafeteria
Format: Any
Summary: The Grand Highblood is not amused by the food but whatevs?
Warnings: The Grand Highblood.

It's almost comical how the highblood is hunched over at a table that seems a bit small for him and eating a bowl of oatmeal(????). His face doesn't show his opinions of the sludge, but he doesn't seem to be hating or loving it. Surprisingly neutral, which is saying something if you happened to know the nature of this particular highblood.

He's pretty distracted, so you'll have a 50/50 chance of getting on his good side or his don't-give-a-fuck side. Then again, he is pretty unpredictable.

Do you dare approacheth the grazing adult troll in his not-so-natural habitat?

[ Her answer comes immediately, with a bit of withheld annoyance. She's had to answer this so, so many times. ]

I'm Hylian by birth. We may be similar, but there are important differences.

[ Before now, she had never heard of humans. In fact, the term was foreign to her still. ]

[ She does NOT like that insinuation. Her blue eyes narrow a fraction, and her expression sets into a frown. This was why she always walked around armed. ]

... How judgmental.

[ A pause. ]

I'd hope you're not saying that you've hurt others.

[ Because she won't stand for THAT bullshit. ]

[ Compared to the Highblood, Link was tiny. But she wasn't bothered by that little display, either. ]

It's not something anyone should treat so casually.

[ She is not intimidated by murderous clowns, sorry bro. ]

I expected you to have some form of dignity and respect for life. But clearly it was wrong of me to think that you might actually be somewhat decent.

[ She's on guard, yes, and it is probably unwise to poke a hornet's nest... but honestly, she's not concerned. ]

Lives are not "casual". One is not worth more than another.

[ Guess what? She remains perfectly where she is, unfazed, and the opposite of frightened.

Why? Her reflexes are good enough that if need be she can flip away from this at a moment's notice; gain some distance. She trusts in herself and her beliefs. And she KNOWS he's wrong. There might be a faint resonance from her right hand here; there was a reason she was chosen for the mark of Courage. ]

... Do not twist my words, so-called "Highblood". We mean two very different things. To value ALL lives, equally, as the same... no more or no less than any other thing... that is what I mean. No life, not a single one, is worth sacrifice. If you were any kind of decent, you might realize that a pawn can cross a chessboard and become anything it desires.

[ Her arms casually move as she does, standing up. She's on a roll now, arms crossed in what seems like defiance, though in reality is a gesture of readying to draw her weapon and shield on short notice. She refuses to even blink the entire time. Good job: you have gotten her to speak more in one sitting than she probably has to ANYONE in this tower, Highblood. ]

"Grand Highblood"... even your name implies superiority to other beings, as though you are something better. I'm disappointed; I've spoken with others, and I had heard about how the lower "blood" were treated, but I'd yet to see the arrogance in person beyond Orphaner Dualscar's accusations. ... You are no better than a petty, common criminal.

[ Come. At. Me. Bro. ]

[ A hero never attacks first. She plays black, if you will--she won't make a move without being forced into it. At that, she just scoffs; what a disgusting, vile, evil creature. ]

I wonder, how strong do you truly believe yourself to be, Highblood? Because I cannot, for the life of me, see any true strength here. Just brute force and a lost cause.

[ It's not even a taunt, it's a statement--this man (troll, she supposed) possessed none of qualities, in her opinion. Somehow, she cannot help but think of Ganondorf and his obsessive lust for power, until he became a corrupt and evil dictator.

...

But at that? Yeah. She's totally gonna turn her back on him as she turns to leave, as unafraid and casual as ever. Oh, she's still on-guard, even if it appears the opposite as she stops to say one more thing. ]

... People will rebel against you. You will fall, like anyone else, in the end--forgotten and hated. Rest assured that if I see you try to harm anyone within my line of sight... I will stop you. Kill you myself, if I must, though I do not savor the idea.

[ She hates the idea of having to fight to kill, but it's obvious someone like him won't easily be swayed toward what is RIGHT. She'll try to leave now, unless you want to stop her, Highblood. ]

[ Usually, she hates her personal bubble being invaded. She expected this, and is still on guard. At any given moment she is ready to draw her sword (clearly a bow would be unwise, not against someone so large), ready for a fight.

Link remains calmly where she is, her voice even. Her posture shows no sign of fear... and if there is any? It's not on the conscious level, because there is very little she fears. When she replies, it's coolly. ]

... Is it not? Then you presume that those who oppose you will all end up the same way, I see.

[ She will not. Even if that is the case, she will go down fighting. ]
ocariness: (Piercingly.)

[ Hah. Oh, she can be rash at times, but those are generally few and far between. She's trained herself to be calm and collected; being scared easily and being able to wield that blade well is what makes her worthy of her title. She watches him out of the corner of her eye, expression neutral.

She realizes, of course, that this is quite predatory, but it would hardly be the first time she'd encountered such a situation. Usually, though, the monsters aren't speaking. ]

... I have no intention of falling to anyone, much less those here, at any point.

[ Because she had to return to finish Ganondorf off for good. She had to. Still, she has no reason to prove herself to him--she feels it unnecessary, because she is plenty capable and she knows it and this is not a contest where only money is at stake. ]
