and mortal men and all things

Characters: The Disciple and you!
Setting: Room 2-05 and everywhere!
Format: Starting in action, will match!
Summary: The Disciple arrives and goes investigating.
Warnings: None at the moment?

[The Disciple awakes with a start, and panic sets in as she struggles to move for those first moments of being paralyzed. The moment she's free, she springs up and out of the bed in a flurry of sheets and hair. She stares around wildly, wondering if she's been captured despite her caution. In the next few minutes, she finds the letters and reads them, and then locates the chest and changes her clothing.

She slips out of the room cautiously and down the hallway, keeping herself pressed to the wall to keep as out of view as she can. But it's a little hard to hide when there's nothing in the halls to hide behind.]

Your thanks is appreciated. But not necessary.

What is your name?

I couldn't say!

I've no idea how your pursuers act, for one thing.

And no adequate reason. Unless you'd like to confess to a crime...

I adhere to a forward-thinking philosophy.

Yes, I expect you would think that.

It is difficult for even the most compliant troll to please her. It seems prudent to inform any citizen, then, of her immediate presence.

Does it not also benefit Her Condescension if her subjects know she is present? It is much easier to give her the tribute and respect due.

I think you overestimate my standing.

Isn't it? A mere neophyte is not often invited into the presence of the Condesce.

Can we really escape something that defines our roles so clearly? I doubt it was Her Condescension that "brought" it.

You certainly have a lot of spirit.
