Setting: 4th Floor
Format: Action spam, but I'll follow you
Summary: After getting sent back "home" Stein's in need of a cool down. Time for someone to bother her during her half-naked martial arts, clearly.
Warnings:

A sound soul- [She jumps and kicks high, gracefully landing down on her other leg, already poised for another attack] Rests in a sound body- [A low kick this time, her leg sweeping around her in a perfect arc before she's back up on her feet] And a sound mind. [She strikes out behind her with her palm, a strange electricity emanating from her hand.

She repeats the mantra and the attacks, and probably would all day if she could. It would be such a shame for someone to interrupt her...]

[Yosuke had only meant to explore a little after a trip to the cafeteria, but so much for plans - he's horribly sidetracked watching the half naked woman practice]

[And not just because she's half naked! ~~though it doesn't hurt~~]

[She actually reminds him of Chie. And though he always tried to avoid her spartan training sessions, there's no question that this woman is at least as good as his friend was. Probably better. Maybe a lot better. But the thought makes him homesick, and Yosuke needs to get out of his head. So he opens his mouth]

Damn... you're good.

[Suzaku hadn't meant to walk in on her, he was just passing through. But he stopped to watch, impressed by her fighting. He hadn't been training nearly enough since arriving here, and after what had happened in the world that was not real he thought he really should become more serious about training.]

_{[he's sequestered off to the side, in a little pile of labcoat and cigarette smoke, watching her through bleary, sleepless eyes. something about being away from the room clears his head a little, cuts the hazy pull of madness for just a few seconds, and he watches her with a slight interest. is that what he looks like when he's practicing?]}

..Do sound souls really exist.

[She glanced behind her at the voice. He was young, probably not much older than any of her students, but she could tell from a quick glance at his soul that he was stronger than his lanky little self let on. Color her curious.]

After twenty years of practice, I'd certainly hope so. Are you a fighter yourself?

[She sensed a new soul behind her, and she could tell whoever owned it was watching her.

Breaking her routine, she spun towards him in a butterfly kick close enough to make sure he felt the air move around him, but making sure she didn't actually hit him.]

It's rude to stare you know. [She had a pleasant smirk on her face though, so she obviously wasn't actually offended.]

If they don't, then what's the point of fighting? [She stood there for a few seconds, staring at him, before going through her sequence once more.]

You should get up and practice with me; you'll end up wasting away if you don't move around occasionally.

[He grins and lets out a chuckle]

I guess you could say that. Not that there's any comparison. I'm self taught, so I doubt I'm anything you'd call 'good'.

Sorry [He nodded his head in an apology] You fight well.

Oh really? [She steps aside.] Let's see what you can do, then.

[Once Soul had been feeling up to walking around again after coming back from 'home', he hadn't really expected this. He blinked once before rubbing his eyes with the heel of his palm, wondering if it was a lack of sleep that was making him see things again before he decided to speak.]

P-P-Professor...?

[Chuckle] You should see me with a weapon. [She cocks her neck, making it crack loudly] But thank you. I appreciate the compliment.

[... crap, he didn't expect to be put on the spot! But he can't exactly say no to the half naked martial artist, so he walks over and tosses his jacket on a chair]

[Closing his eyes for a moment, he makes himself pretend he's fighting a shadow. That makes his life a little easier, and he starts to go through the motions after pulling the knives from his pockets]

[The standard jumping attack, swinging his daggers down in an X! The spinning Yosuke strike, which is probably incredibly stupid in practice! The only part of the routine he's even remotely proud of is the spinning jump he makes at the end - the motion for summoning his persona]

See? Told you, nothing that great.

[It's been a while since she'd been called professor by anyone, so excitedly, she spun around.

Only to see a student she didn't entirely recognize. She studied him normally for a second or two - sort of familiar in an odd sort of way - before giving up and looking at his soul.

Boy she would never get used to this opposite gender twin thing.]

Soul?

[He doesn't quite smile but he nods again] Where you in the army? Back in your world I mean.

[She watches, politely holding in her urge to giggle. He looks a little silly, but it's not terrible.]

You could be a lot worse. Maybe just practice throwing them a bit. Incredibly useful skill, especially for quieting down noisy students.

[He flinches a little but nods just the same. She's not his professor, but she's still someone familiar. Soul hunches his shoulders, wringing his hands together just a bit.]

H-Hello...

[He blushes from horrible horrible embarrassment but smiles all the same. Yosuke is going to assume the daggers-at-students thing was a joke]

Thanks - it was good enough to stay alive, anyway. So, you're a teacher? I wouldn't have expected that.

I suppose you could call it that. I'm a teacher, technically, but the school I work at hunts witches, so it's sort of like being in an army of high schoolers, which when you really think about it is a little more horrifying than a typical army.

You... Got a haircut. [Well it sort of made sense, considering her Soul's hair was pretty long and feminine. Maybe that should be the next thing she asked her double about: hair styles.]

Are you okay? You seem nervous.

A scientist and a doctor really, but I got dragged into teaching when the head of the school realized a dead woman probably couldn't teach as well as I could, but she still fills in from time to time. [And see, the funny part is, she's not joking about any of it.]

[He shook his head, a small smile flickering across his mouth for a minute before it left just as quickly.]

I'm a-always like this.

You never seemed this nervous as a girl. [...Oh wait Stein might actually have an idea why.

She grabs her labcoat off the floor and pulls it on. There, now at least she's not totally flashing her cleavage all up everywhere.]

[Silence. And staring. And then-]

Let me get this straight. You're a scientist-doctor-teacher who's also a martial arts expert, filling in for a zombie who subs every now and then.

... what?!

[Soul blinked a little when she put her labcoat back on before realizing she'd been half naked. A decent blush spread over his cheeks as he pursed his lips together.]

T-That's not it. I-I guess your Maka isn't inflicted with Madness.

I might be wrong, but I think Syd prefers the term "Undead-American". [And then Stein cackles like loon.]
