[o2] ‸^‸ Second Song.
Characters:
ocariness and whoever happens across "him".
Setting: The Eleventh floor, near the stairs.
Format: Either, but actionspam works best for me. <3
Summary: After what's happened in those nightmare worlds and seeing the damage, Link just wants some peace and quiet, which she finds in the form of playing her Ocarina.
Warnings: None yet!
[ If you were a resident of the Tower, chances were you heard a melody coming from the upper floors. Due to the nature of the instrument, the sound carries quite well, and if you stop in the stairwells, you may even hear the fleeting whispers of it.
Following the source of the music will lead you to the Eleventh floor. During the daylight hours with plenty of time to spare, of course; Link would never play in a dangerous environment.
Snatches of other songs can be heard as well, though this is the one Link is playing if you should choose to investigate. It's nothing out of the ordinary: the Hylian is merely sitting near the stairs in the grass, playing.
This was as close as she could get to home; this music reminded her of the strange song that filled the Lost Woods adjacent to her home.
Will you bother the hero? ]

Oh, thank you. ... I'm not an elf, no. I've... never heard of one before, either.
[ Gosh this boy is so cute she can't. ]

... You may just call me Link, if you would like.
[ She offers Romeo what she hopes is a reassuring smile; hearing "sir" made her feel far too old, somehow. ]
But I'm afraid I have not heard of this term before now... most of the people in my world have ears like mine. Or... at least, the Kokiri and the Hylians do. The Gorons and Zoras are a bit different.

Okay mister Link! [He thinks for a moment] Maybe you are an elf then and that's just what we call Kokiri and Hylians in our language because I never heard those words before!

It could just be we're from entirely separate worlds.
[ Pausing. Hmmm... ]
... I can't say I know your name, however. If you would not mind telling me, of course, I wouldn't be opposed to an audience.

Oh I'm Romeo mister Link! Do you not mind! I will be quiet!
comment fail oops :T
[ ... A larger smile manages to escape her despite herself. ]
But it's truly a shame you are not graced with the variety that my world is. Each race is wonderful in their own ways, just like humans and any other living thing. You could take my friends, the Kokiri, as an example of that.
[ The Hylian motions across from her. Wanna sit next to her, Romeo? It's not exactly a fancy seat, her little spot on the hill, but it's an offer anyway.
Whether he chooses to sit or not, Link will be happy to explain a bit, perhaps even somewhat animatedly--her home is very important to her, and Romeo is a child, rather not all too unlike her "family" of sorts. ]
Usually, they are children forever, and I have never known one to look any older than... hmm, just a little bit more than your age. Every Kokiri has a guardian fairy, and everyone makes their own instruments and tools and homes. Everything we use is magic, to a degree... because it is made of Forest wood or materials.
The woods that are my home are alive with a good deal of magic; the song you heard me playing is often heard coming from the deepest part of the trees... it's a mysterious melody that not everyone can hear.

A land full of magic also sounded wonderful and woods that were alive. He tried to imagine the singing trees and he smiled at Link] Can you hear them mister Link?

Very much so. You see--and this is a small secret--I am not actually as old as I look. I was frozen in time, so I aged. But I can go back to being young at home.
[ Then, she smiles. ]
And the young are always better off within our woods... but it's dangerous without a fairy. You see, I was raised there... no, perhaps it is more accurate to say that I live there, still. We don't have ages, Romeo, because we don't count years... but my good friend taught me a very long time ago how to navigate the Lost Woods, and how to listen for the music there.

It sounds really beautiful mister Link, do you miss it a lot?
no subject
... I missed it even in my world. It would be a lie to say I don't, still. I can't return just yet. There are things I have to do...
[ She looks at the Ocarina in her hand a bit. It's time for a subject change, ahaha. That is way too hard to think about right now, for her. ]
Music can do a lot of things. It's a form of magic, too.

Magic? How is music magic, mister Link?

[ She smiles. ]
When you play, if you mean it, it helps others. Sometimes, it can help you, too. Notes can travel farther than any written message.

Can you play it again mister Link?
