It was gone.

It was all gone. It was like something from out Johan's twisted mind, the final realization of the doomsday he had hoped to achieve. But the destruction was more vast and far reaching than even Johan could have accomplished. Not even a single plant or animal survived.

Nina wandered through the empty wasteland, for days that had felt more to her, in her terror and isolation, like weeks or even months. She called out for someone, anyone, and got no response but her own echoing voice. She hadn't completely believed the note when she first arrived that said her world had been destroyed, but how else could she explain what she'd found when she'd gone there?

She stared into one of the portals on the sixth floor, body shaking and face pale and blue eyes wide. It claimed to be a view of her home, and it showed her the exact same thing she'd seen when she got home.

If, of course, Nina had even gone home. There was no way to know where she'd gone or what it was supposed to be. The tower seemed capable of cooking up any terrifying vision it wanted to, and perhaps this was just another. Still, it was hard not to feel filled with a deep and unsettling fear as she stared into the portal. Even if it was a lie... even if she'd just been kidnapped again to some other strange place... there was no way to know for sure.

"It's all gone," she said out loud, to herself, before she heard something behind her. A voice or a footstep or a noise. It was enough to jolt her into gripping her own consciousness again. She had felt herself starting to slip away once more, but instead she forced herself to turn and face whoever -- or whatever -- was there, although she couldn't hide her saddened expression as she did.

[ Later / Floor 14. ]

Nina couldn't linger in a depressive state for long. Something had happened in her absence. She didn't know how yet, or why, but it looked like the defenses had been breached somehow. Things were pouring in, chasing her. Attacking people.

Things that looked like monsters.

The important thing was to protect those who needed it, and everyone seemed to need it right now.

She was in the media room when she shot the first one. It was something she didn't recognize, but it was more animal than human and advancing on someone. Nina fired without hesitating. There was a loud, deafening crack, two loud cracks, and the beast fell.

Nina's chest was heaving, and her tone was firm but not unkind as she went over to the would-be victim. She had to be quick about this. There was no telling when more might show up.

"Are you okay?"

"H...Huh?"

Ven wasn't usually one to let his guard down and get himself cornered. Though he'd been more than a bit out of it lately, not to mention he still wasn't quite used to using Aqua's keyblade. And so he was sitting on the floor in the media room, the keyblade half in his hand and half on the ground, a vacant stare on his face, and a small, twitchy blue Unversed (http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100722181113/kingdomhearts/images/thumb/f/f7/Flood.png/248px-Flood.png) spazzing around next to him.

"U-Uh...yeah. I'm fne. Sorry about that."
