Admittedly, Spain found herself lost amidst the confusion when the tower somehow freaked out and ported her back to her world, so she didn't understand what's happening at the current moment.

When she returned, the tower had expanded (yet again), and quickly, she sought out solace in one of the few places she regularly haunts.

It was then a soft cry attracted her attention, and she looked up to see a strange creature fluttering - or struggling to fly - a few inches beside her. It looked like a miniature bull with fairy wings, pale and tiny, and it was crying so pitifully, that Spain held out her hand to try and calm the creature down.

"Shh, chico, don't cry anymore..."

Romeo had followed the flying creature into the cathedral. It had been crying and Romeo wanted to help it but it kept running away from him. He thought he might be scaring it so he had hung back watching it, wondering if it was injured because it was struggling to fly.

Romeo recognised the voice and looked up with a grin, "Oh miss Spain!" He wrapped his arms round her. "I was scared you'd gone!"

"Ah, Romero!" Spain hugged him back with one arm, smiling as she tried to maneuver the little bull-fairy creature from any more harm. "I was returned to my world, or the wasteland of it... I hope you have been doing well..."

Romeo frowned, some people went back to their worlds and they were wastelands, and then other people had went back and they were normal but sadder. "I went home as well miss, but... it was bad..." He was desperately trying not to think about it so he sat down on the floor and tried to encourage the strange creature to come to him. It seemed harmless.

"I'm okay miss Spain, lots of monsters attacked us, and the Tower went all funny and we were stuck in one room with all the monsters and it was a bit scary. But it's okay now. Well apart from the monsters are still here." He frowned, "Oh and there's new bits to the tower, there's a field where its nice and warm! Did you go there yet miss?" Because everywhere else in the tower was cold and Romeo was freezing even in his coat.

"Sounds like you had an adventure," she said softly, even as she petted his hair and sighed. The little bullfairy was still crying, and she cradled it to her bosom with her free hand. "So, you're saying there are creatures now, and some of them are not as harmless as this one?"

Romeo peered at the creature, it looked so sad and was crying but it seemed scared and he didn't know how to make it better. "Yeah, most of them are scary but in the day time they don't really attack a lot. You have to be even more careful at night though."

"I'm always in my dorm at night, Romero," Spain informed him, lightly tracing her finger along the bullfairy's horns to try and calm it down. "But I will take your word on the creatures attacking at night."

"Good, you need to keep safe miss!" He sat down next to her and reached out carefully, "Can I touch it? I wont hurt it will I?"

"I can't see why not." Smiling, she slowly lowered her hands so that Romeo could pet the little creature. "I'm still trying to figure out why it's in pain though..."

Romeo patted it gently and looked up at miss Spain with big eyes, "Maybe one of the meaner monsters hurt it," he looked at it, trying to see if it was cut or injured at all, "Or maybe the bad people did something to it."

"Perhaps it was both..." Spain sighed again when it mooed plaintively, hushing it softly and continued to comfort it.

"Maybe." He stroked the animal again, "I don't know what we can do to help... But we should do something!"

Now how did he know he would find Spain in here?

In all honesty Ienzo had just been passing through, but something caught his eye -- one of those small monsters. He had seen them around the tower in a few places; harmless enough. He figured they, too, were victims of Tower experiments, left to sit out here after the grafters and 'doctors' have had their fun. Not funny under any circumstance... but he found them kind of annoying, to be honest.

So when he saw A. one of those bull fairies and B. Spain in the same area, he figured now would be as good a time as any to intervene. He'd noticed her absence -- this was the second time, right? He couldn't quite remember.

Regardless, out of interest for not scaring the bullfairy away, he made a conscious effort to be quiet as he approached. Maybe she would be able to tell when he was around, after getting so much practice. (Some people, he noticed, seemed to have that ability; mostly when he's in trouble for something and was trying to sneak by unnoticed.)

The little bullfairy mooed when it saw Ienzo, which made Spain turn to look as well. A small smile graced her lips and she gestured for him to come closer, holding the little creature in her arms carefully.

"...You've taken a liking to it, have you?" he asked, regarding the bullfairy as he approached. "They don't seem dangerous, at least..."

"And hello to you too, Ieño," Spain replied, calmly petting the creature on the head while supporting its body. "It reminds me of home. We used to have bullfights and bullruns back home..."

Hmm. So the animal -- or at least, part of it -- had cultural significance to her. It made sense now why she liked it so much. He sat down next to her and the bullfairy, peering at it. "...I wonder if there's any way we could fix it up..."

Spain sighed as she continued to pet the little bullfairy on the head. "It sounded hurt, but I can't seem to figure out why," she explained. "It's like it's in constant pain."

"Look at that stitching. It's clearly a very sloppy job." He frowned at the thing, pointing out bits and pieces occasionally as he went on with his miniature lecture. "Whoever made it obviously has no concept of how biology works... you can just see that these wings were added on by someone else, and they probably aren't very good at it; the stitches are uneven and pulling the skin. Imagine what he must have done to the inside of this animal's body."

She listened quietly and nodded, biting her lip as Ienzo explained the slightly gruesome details about the creature's malformations.

"Is there a way for me, or us, to help it?"

"If there is someone in this tower who knows how to properly graft the wings and reattach the nerves, they might be able to heal it in the infirmary... but otherwise, the best we can do is try to help it regain its body strength so it can walk." He eyed the creature's rather pathetic noodly legs. "Otherwise, any healing we attempt may actually make it worse."

"I am no doctor, but I could help it regain strength in its legs..." Spain mused over it, lightly scratching the top of the little bullfairy's head. "Do you know anyone here who is a doctor, though?"

He frowned. "Not a... doctor, specifically. But I do know someone who specializes in healing magic. She might be able to help... if only by relieving the pain..."

Magic... something Spain would never find herself familiar with, thanks to the influence of the England of her world. But, if it meant being able to help a poor creature like this one, she would overcome her dislike for witchcraft for its sake.

"...who is she? Is she reliable? Trustworthy?"

"Yes," he said, immediately. "Her name is Aqua. She's extremely trustworthy." He looked around. "I'll be meeting with her soon... at that point, I can ask about this creature here. Can you take care of it until then?"

"Of course I will take care of it," Spain nodded, cradling the creature carefully now that it stopped crying.

"...Alright. I will contact Aqua." He looked again at the bullfairy, thinking more about what he had just said -- about the stitching, and the pain it must be in. It was really... unfortunate, for this animal. It couldn't walk, from the total lack of muscle on those legs. And imagine the pain that must go through it, every time it flaps its wings; shoddy wiring of nerve to spine to brain could easily be killing the animal, slowly, as it keeps flying.

"Until then... perhaps you should try working with it to gently build up those legs. It must be hard to support the weight of the head, but it obviously can't keep flying."

"Thank you, Ieño." The female nation smiled sadly down at the bullfairy, still petting its horns as it looked up at her imploringly with its huge eyes.

"I think I'll name this one Torito."

He regarded the thanks with a silent nod, only speaking when she announced the creature's name. "Torito... what is the meaning of that name? Is there one?"

Spain's smile brightened a little at the question. "It simply means 'little bull' in Spanish."

"I see." He looks at the bullfairy again. "...Interesting language... perhaps you can teach some of it to me, sometime."

"It's the language of my people," she elaborated, nodding slightly. "I'll be delighted to teach you, Ieño."

He nodded, looking up at her now. He would never say it, but he was quite pleased with this idea; it gave him work to do, a luxury of which he was sorely lacking in this terribly stagnant tower. For someone who had been accustomed to massive piles of work between tutoring and experiments, six full months of nothing could probably be used as psychological warfare in some countries.

Spain smiled at him in return. "It's the least I could do to help, since you're helping me with Torito here."
