Summary: The Summoner really needs a hug except for the part where his ribs are broken

[He stays where he is for a long time after the Highblood leaves, staring rather blankly into the air. He has not felt this low since he was a child. Since before he met Pyralsprite, and that thought is… absolutely hysterical to him. He has fought his whole life and it took a week and two trolls to bring him back here, where he questions every single one of his thoughts, his movements, everything. He does so much wrong, how could he have forgotten that]

[So he laughs because what the hell else is there to do. He wants nothing more then to sleep the rest of forever away, but he can’t as his body is quick to remind him. He’s coughing violently into his hand before long, unsurprised when after the fit has ended there are speckles of blood on his palm. Fuck. He wanted to skip the trip to the infirmary, but if his lungs are punctured…]

[The climb to his feet is truly agonizing, and he knows walking will be worse. There are little things in him muttering that he deserves it and he just can’t bring himself to argue with it. Yes. Of course he deserves it. Whatever. How many flights is it to the infirmary? He should’ve paid better attention in the past]

[Ah well… The first push off is the worst, and then he’s moving out of the cathedral and down the halls, one arm wrapped around himself while the other uses the wall for support. He’s tired. Let’s get this over with…]

[The concern is pretty plain on her face, and for once, she doesn't bother trying to hide it. She straightens up, wincing slightly as the motion sends a sharp stab of pain into her poor, battered ribs. SHE CAN'T EVEN GET UP THIS IS SO DUMB.]

What happened?

[Ends up just... making this odd kind of wave-y gesture, trying to brush her off or at least make her wait while he... curls in on himself and tries really hard not to hack up whatever rib it is that's causing his problems]

[Wow okay. Never again. He is never letting his ribs get broken again. ...ahaha, he'll never be able to keep that promise, but WHATEVER that's apparently pretty standard for him!!!! Eventually, he manages to take a sort of short, thin breath and straighten a little]

Highblood. Punched me.

[Yeah, that totally looks like the result of one punch. Yup. She is going to kill the Highblood. Her eyes narrow and she tries to shift forward again, more slowly this time, and manages to pull herself to the edge of her bed.]

[It was basically a punch okay okay, words are hard when it hurts this much to breathe. So he doesn't respond, just kinda... pushing himself off the wall and going over to her. IDK I GUESS THERE ARE PROBABLY ALSO CUTS AND SHIT ALL OVER HIM TOO CAUSE DUALSCAR'S A DICK but anyway, he's going to... use your bed to support himself once he gets over there, hope that's okay]

[She scoots over, giving him more than enough room to sit down if he wants. If she looked angry before, she looks pretty enraged now. WHERE IS THAT STUPID DOCTOR.]

Why did he attack you?

[....NEVER MIND ABOUT THE CUTS LKJSALSDFJ But okay yeah, he's definitely gonna take you up on that, sliding onto the bed as soon as there's space for him and trying to sit up. Keep his lungs open. Lord, he probably sounds awful this close ahahalkjsdf]

I don't know. [Which is a lie! But he doesn't wanna think about how awful he is at everything, or what all happened back there, so!] What, happened to you?

The Highblood punched me.

[She smirks mirthlessly as she turns toward him, trying to examine his wounds more closely.]

[Well she probably won't see much lkjsdf It's all under his shirt because... yeah, he actually was only hit once. Just... you know... really really hard...]

[But uh... yeah, he's not going to stop her fussing at him because... W E L P he has a lot of really conflicting emotions on the subject of the Highblood smacking the shit out of her, so he's just going to go tense and silent for the moment. Feelings... problems... help]

[YUP there is... Not much to see. She could totally prod at his ribcage but that would probably be a bad idea so she just frowns at him instead. SPILL.]

[...yeah don't... poke him in the ribs, that would be terrible. Stares back at her, resisting the inexplicable urge to tell her everything that just happened]
