[Tower Takeover Plot] || [24th to 25th June] || [Open/Closed]

Characters: A lot - Look at the tags. I'll try to keep the list updated as it goes on.
Setting: The Tower (various floors) / The Pod Area / The Control Room. The Teams attempt to break-in will happen during the night from the 24th to the 25th. The monsters being enraged will last for the the 24th and the 25th, and will end with Ganon's death early on the 25th.
Format: Action most likely
Summary: Ganondorf's plot to take over the tower is finally happening, with various team assigned to various tasks. You can go here for more details or to ask a question. There will be mainly three things going on:

- The Control Room team, led by Ganondorf and attempting to take over the tower. This group's action will be divided in two threads, one before they reach the control room, one after. Membership for this group is CLOSED.
- The Pod Team, trying to break into the Pods, actually only serving as diversion so that the Control Room Team can reach its purpose. Like for the Control Room team, there will be two threads. Membership for this group is OPEN.
- The Monsters going berserk in the tower and attacking everyone on their way, once more to serve as a diversion. No membership required for that.

Basically, we start by tagging the Gathering thread of each team, then after a short while move on to the Pod/Control Room thread. There will also be a thread about the recruitment if you want it played out- Hence there will be a total of six threads in order to keep things organized, but don't hesitate to make your own thread if say, two or more characters have a private discussion at some point during the event or for a monster battle. More details below.

Warnings: Everyone in the Control Room will die, no escaping it. Those in the Pod Team may manage to survive if they're clever about it. Anyone encountering a monster risk to be wounded or killed.

Lots of tl;dr, just to give a few more details in case you need them. Don't feel forced to read unless you need it, it's really lots of bla bla.

Control Room Team
This team is led by Ganondorf with the sole purpose of taking over the tower. First Ganon will wait until all those concerned arrive at the gathering; then details of the plan will be given once more for those who didn't hear everything. Only then will they head to the Control Room, since Ganondorf more or less found out how to reach it. Since this team is full, no more characters can be accepted in. People in this team are:

Ganondorf, MM Link, Fado, Hojo, Reno (OU), Naoya, Xigbar, Richtofen, Gimli, Riku (OU) and Shion. Fi and Xion (OU) may appear in the Gathering Thread but not the Control Room Thread. Indeed, because of how many people are involved (11-13), the events for this group will be divided into two threads: one before they enter the control room, one after.

The Gathering
This thread will take place on the First Floor (Cafeteria) and will be about the team's member arrival. They can speak between them in the meanwhile, whatever to kill time. Once everybody will be there, Ganondorf will explain the plan once more for those who don't know the details. He will make no mention of the diversions (it's to say the Monsters and the Pod Team) as officially he's not behind the Pod Team and most people shouldn't even know this Team exists. Then they will move in toward the control room.

The Control Room
This thread will take place in the Control Room, as the characters step in. This is also where everyone will die (anyone tagging in this thread is sure to die). Probably killed off by Zo? The details for how it'll happen precisely are yet unknown. Considering how long this is all going to be, we won't have to wait until the first's thread end to start this one.

Pod Team
This Team is led by SS Link and has for objective to go and free those prisoner in the Pods ~~not like those in Dax's pod want to be freed anyway~~. In fact, Ganon secretly set it up to serve as diversion for the Control Room Team to succeed. Nevertheless aside from the Turks, nobody in the group knows that it is only as a diversion. Those involved are:

SS Link, TP Link, ALTTP Link, Enoch, Kafuka, Tara, Suzaku, Beat, Rude and Reno (AU). Unlike the Control Room Team, this one is still open to more people if you want join in the ~~horror~~ fun. And unlike the Control Room Team, those in this team may come out of it alive if they play smart. IF. Much like for the Control Room team, events for this group will be divided in two threads.

The Gathering
Same than for the other team, except it happens on the First Dormitory Floor. SS Link will be the one in charge here. He'll probably also be much more sympathetic than Ganondorf, open to answer questions and less of a douche overall. Well he should be Link.

The Pods' Area
This thread will take place when the characters will get close to the Pod Area. What will happen exactly is not that clear yet, but if they play clever they may come out of it alive.

Inside the Tower
Because one diversion isn't enough, Ganondorf has used his powers to enrage the Tower's monsters and send them to kill everyone. He's sent out a couple monsters of his making as well, and asked Ghirahim to go on a killing spree. Just another day in the tower.

You don't need to tag in the monster thread for that, it's just for convenience. If you want to play with that side-effect of the event, you can chose to make your own thread, or your own log.

Monsters
Same monsters than usual, except this week-end, they are out to kill. More than they usually are. Stronger, more ferocious, faster, etc. There are particularly more Darknut than usual. On the less dangerous side, there are many Poes Ganondorf created causing havoc around, not so much killing people, more like ravaging the tower in any possible ways. They're ghost-like creatures, sensitive to light.

Jalhalla
Jalhalla is a gigantic monster unleashed by Ganon as seen here and here is for an example of how a battle against it works. Fou-Lu Is set to kill it before the end of the event, but that doesn't mean it cannot harm people or wreak havoc before that.

Ghirahim
At least one of the two Ghirahim will be out, hunting to kill anyone they can on Ganondorf's order. The sad part is that unlike regular monsters, Ghirahim is very smart and won't go down that easily.

Recruitment
Because time lacked, there was no recruitment post for the teams. Nevertheless, if you'd rather not have the recruitment and revelations handwaved, you can tag into this thread to have the recruitment happen.

| At this point, all informations have been given and all questions have been answered. By the time Ganon was sure Team Pod was well on its way and was being a good little diversion, he got the Elevator Shaft opened up. ]

[ He takes a quick look inside. ]

Follow me.

[Naoya follows, taking care to keep his footsteps as quiet as possible. He keeps an eye out, cautious of what's going on around them and taking in any information that he can.]

[The elevator within is a fairly large one--it could fit perhaps fifteen or twenty people. It's lit only with emergency lights, but the computer panel where buttons would typically be is still active. It reads as follows:

Elevator currently in automatic mode. Please speak your desired location.]

[ It's too easy.

Bringing up the rear, Xigbar nearly scoffs when he sees the message on the panel. Like the rules of this place would really make taking this place so simple.

He says nothing, though, merely stands in a corner, eyes and ears alert. It'd be foolish to expect anything less than a trap. ]

[Richtofen's the next to enter. He looks around, scrutinizing every corner of the elevator, until his eyes finally land on the message.]

Oh, how convenient! [He gives his companions a smile, but doesn't say anything else. He'll let the others deal with getting them where they need to go.]

[ Ganondorf is just quietly facepalming as he waits for everyone to get in. Either this is pure stupidity on the administrators part, either this is a trap... ]

... If you have weapons, take them out now.

[ They've gone that far, they cannot go back. ]

Yes, how very welcoming. Our hosts are so gracious.

[Not even a keycard or passcode necessary? Even ShinRa's security was better than this, so he does not believe for a moment that all is what it seems, or that it is honestly going to be this easy. It's not at all in keeping with the rest of this place. He makes a low, skeptical noise.

Yet he does not fear dying (again), and to see what happens will be educational, regardless. However, that doesn't mean he wants to die. He pulls out his gun, at the suggestion. Its filled materia slot glows, faintly.]

[Reno's been in his fair share of traps, and usually he could find a way out of them. Still, this was worrying him, and put him on edge to expect something in the near future.

Pulling his EMR off his belt, he pulled out the antenna as far as it would go and then settled it on his shoulder. If anyone got it in the eye, that was their own fault for being behind him.]

Let's just get it over with.

[ ~~Rude is happy not to be in this team.~~ Ganon waited for everyone to be in the elevator, looked at the panel then uttered simply: ]

Control Room.

[The elevator doors close and the elevator itself hums to life, taking them down far beyond any normally accessible area of the Tower. It's a full ten minutes before it finally stops, opening to a plain-looking, empty hallway. There are emergency lights on, flooding the room with a red tint, and it's silent. There is a door at the end of the hallway.]

[Link is tense. As the elevator travels, he tightens his grip on the Gilded Sword. He counts the minutes as they go by (a habit he picked up in Termina; when your life revolves around the passage of time, you learn how to gauge it well). How far is it taking them? He knows it's impossible to tell, especially considering the Tower has grown during the time he's been in it. Maybe the control area isn't actually connected to the Tower at all, he ponders. Maybe the elevator is actually teleporting them through time and space to another part of the world...

When the doors open, he's surprised the elevator actually took them there, without any kind of key or secret password or anything. (Maybe the door at the end of the hallway is locked.) Then again, how do they know for sure that this is really it? This may not be the hallway to control room. It may be somewhere entirely different, someplace designed to make them suffer in new and unimaginable ways just for trying to get into the control room...

... Wow living in the Tower this long has made him paranoid.

Link frowns at himself and, as if to make up for those thoughts, he is the first one to step out of the elevator into the hallway. After a moment, he activates the Lens of Truth. He doesn't know if it will actually show him anything, but it can't hurt to be careful.]

[He doesn't like this at all. It's too easy. There should have been a passcode. He stares down at the panel as they ride, trying to figure it out.]

[He closes his eyes for a moment, preparing a Megidolaon to hold in reserve. Whether it's at an enemy he'll throw it at, or someone in the team to cause a distraction will depend on the situation.]

[When the doors open and the boy steps out first, he smirks slightly, but lets him do his thing. He'll follow along after a few more people step out - he's not so stupid as to go first.]

[At Ganondorf's order, Richtofen pulls out his pistol and checks to make sure it's loaded. It's a dinky little thing, but it's far better than nothing. And he has his knife on him, just in case.

He taps his foot as they descend, resisting the urge to strike up conversation with any of the others. They all look so anxious. Richtofen, on the other hand, is excited. Even if they get ambushed, he'll get a good fight out of it.

When the doors open, Richtofen is the second person to step out, his gun at the ready. He looks around and whistles.]

Oh, look! At least the power is on.

[Hands holding tight onto the handle of his double-edged axe, Gimli waited quietly. Patiently. As the elevator doors opened, he narrowed his eyes, feet shifting just slightly to give him proper footing to swing at a moment's notice if necessary. When nothing terrible happens as the first two step out, he follows them warily, and, unable to help himself, finds the words spilling out his mouth almost without thought.]

I don't know about you, folks, but this would be time the orcs be falling down out ears, back home.

[Reno makes a strangled noise in the back of his throat, giving the dwarf a slight glare.]

Damn. Don't jynx it.

[The Turk is already edgy enough, thank you.]

He's right... If I were the one in charge, I would have left a guardian or two here.

[ Ganondorf is unusually quiet. The fact that the power is on but there is whatsoever no security is disturbing. Now generally he is the one waiting at the other side of the final boss door, and he makes sure to have plenty of trials to test those daring to defy him. Hum...

He walks to the door but doesn't open it. He'll leave someone else do it. Not stupid, he wants to see what'll happen to the first one opening this door and stepping in. ]

[... what is Ganondorf waiting for?

It isn't that Link doesn't understand the concern about what will happen to the one who goes in first. The thought of it worries him. He's been considering being the first one to go through, if only because then he'd possibly be protecting everyone else should something bad actually happen. But...

His brow furrows. He supposes it still isn't in Ganondorf's nature to think like that. Besides, he's the one with the plan, the one providing solid direction to everyone else. If something bad does happen to him... Link isn't sure how everyone else would react. He's sure Fado would step up and take charge, but would the others listen? They may not know or care about his status as a Sage and see only a boy.

Link turns to look around at everyone in the hallway. His mouth is set in a line. After a brief moment, he makes up his mind, and makes his way down the hallway to the door. He looks up at Ganondorf, expression still serious, and gives him a small nod. Yes, he's thought this through. Yes, he's willing to be the first one.

He reaches up for the doorknob, takes hold, and turns it, leaning his weight carefully on the door so it'll hopefully swing open slowly. Once it's open, he steps inside without another glance back.]

[The control room is large, filled with computer monitors on the walls and various buttons, dials, and keyboards beneath said monitors. Most of them are displaying error screens and warning of the various outages in the Tower, but a few seem to be functioning properly, displaying various floors of the Tower. There's a table in the center that could seat five, but only one boy is at the table now, and he looks up when the door opens--first looking hopeful, then looking alarmed.]

Hey--Hey, what are you doing here?

[Naoya chuckles at the boy's alarm, and then heads straight for the computers. He looks over them to attempt to decipher whatever coding they're running on. Then he shrugs and begins to type in the coding language that seems most appropriate, attempting to first restore power and then find information.]

[ So that's the famous control room... Absolutely perfect. Only the boy to guard it, and from the look on his face their arrival was unexpected. His alarmed tone sounds like music to Ganondorf's ears. All that power at his disposal... But he hides it well. ]

Considering the administrators have abandoned this tower for nearly four weeks and have left everything falls into ruins, we're taking over management.

[ Naoya's already at work, good. He expects him, Hojo and Richtofen to be the most specialized when it comes to machines and sciences. He looks at Xigbar back in the corridor and nods, someone needs to cover their back after all, then at Reno. Because someone needs to look after the boy. ]

[Richtofen enters next, sneering at the boy as he goes by. Oh, how he hates children. If they have to dispose of him, Richtofen will be more than happy to do so.

On the other hand, the sight of all the machines in their emergency modes is a comfort. It really brings back memories - blaring alarms, scientists scrambling over one another to escape hordes of the undead, machines blinking and flashing every which way... It was a fun time.

Eager to re-live that chaos, this time with a little more control in his hands, Richtofen begins examining the computers. He's programmed more than a few in his lifetime. If this technology is anything like what he's worked with before, it shouldn't be too tough to figure out. He hears the hissing of voices in the back of his head spurring him on, giving him instructions, and he listens intently as he goes to work.]

[Link stays over by the doorway. When it comes to computers and such, he... isn't really good for much. For now, he'll keep an eye on things from his spot there.

He'll try talking to Zo, though.]

The monsters have gotten out of hand, and we've been struggling to make sure everyone has enough food and water. We had to do something.

[...a boy was in charge of this place? That was not a hobbit, that was a boy. Gimli had a bad feeling about the whole thing, but that only makes it worse. He shoots the tall redhead a side look and nods at the young kid, shifting his axe to his other hand in an unconscious attempt to not frighten the kid. He looked alarmed enough.]

Oi lad, this doesn't have to get unnecessarily... ugly, you understand? We are all very reasonable here.

[Hojo still has his gun in his hand, but he sees no reason to shoot the boy, not yet, though he looks him over briefly, wondering about his nature, if he's other than what he seems. He's indifferent to children, or vaguely annoyed by them, unless they serve some purpose or are of value to his research. This one might be interesting, it's possible. He's worked with children before.]

Yes yes, there's no need to be alarmed.

[As he talks, he, too, is drawn to the computers, of course. This kind of interface... that's what he's wanted, what he's been looking for, waiting for. He has a great deal of skill with computing, programming.

He isn't attempting to achieve any particular goal in this initial study of the machines, only to understand, to learn.]

You've been left unaccompanied, I see. What is the extent of your control here?
