Characters: Rose Egbert and all her little victims.
Setting: All around the Tower, forward dated to between the 22nd and the 27th
Format: Prose to start, but either is accepted.
Summary: Puzzle murders here, puzzle murders there. Nobody is escaping without at least getting maimed. Threads will start being added for each puzzle after the 22nd.
Warnings: Character death. Character maiming. Specific warnings will be added as necessary.

This one took a lot of planning and setting up. It took a lot of time as well. Today was completely devoted to this and she had to say it was her greatest game yet. First the traps needed to be set, various painful and fatal objects being placed around the maze. Metal boxes, wooden boxes, blades, spikes, just a real variety. Didn't want to bore her players, after all.

Next was obtaining everyone she needed. The players came first, five people bound and blindfolded arranged around the maze. They were informed upon waking that they would soon be receiving instructions on how to safely exit the maze, but for right now they were safe because she was keeping them safe. That basically meant keeping them in boxes with air holes. They couldn't use their arms, those tightly bound to their sides, but they were free to try and walk or look around.

The last piece needed was the star of this game; Rose Strider. She, like many of her victims, had been knocked unconscious and now hovered over the maze so she could survey the layout. And when she woke up, that's exactly what would greet her, along with Rose Egbert floating at her side but out of her reach.

"Good morning."

((OOC: Until the boxes are opened and the victims are let out, Rose and Rose will be talking to one another. Once the boxes are opened, the order should go Rose E (until she leaves the conversation) > Rose S > Genda > Feferi > Jade S > Dipper > David. Subject to change as needed!))

[she'd been careless, and that was all there was to it.

the Halloween tasks had prompted her to run around the tower like a madwoman, scooping up candy and making the rounds between her friends' rooms to ensure that they had enough sweets to survive. even with the help of time clones it had been exhausting (and pointless, that ever-present bitter voice in the back of her head pointed out) and she'd worn herself down without adequate rest.

because she really should have seen this coming.

it's difficult to tell when Rose comes to as the only outward indication is the change in her breathing. she remains perfectly still for some time, surveying what was below her and then with an invisible flick of her eyes behind her shade what was beside her. it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that her nightmare doppelganger was just out of range, although she can't help a moment of inward frustration at being bound. the desire to just smash the other girl's face in had been growing steadily since their last conversation.

her voice is tight and cutting when she finally deigns to reply. she's not going to give away anything to this bitch.]

It was until you oozed your way into it.

[[There's only a cheerful smile in reply to that comment.]] That's good! A poor morning would lead to poor performance, and that's most certainly nothing you want happening now. More than just you would regret it.

So tell me. Are you ready to play?

Only if you sidle over here a little bit. I'm not going to be able to break too much of you where you are now unless I have a sudden growth spurt.

[oh she certainly notes the implication of other people involved, but she refuses to press it. inquiry implied she cared, and in this situation that could only lead to more pain for whoever she'd roped into this bullshit]

Well unfortunately that just won't be happening! At least not so soon. I'll take your usual biting comments as a good sign then and explain the rules.

[[She pauses though.]]

You say as if you could resist listening to your own voice and shutting up. [the eyeroll is palpable, although her entire body is on high alert] Just get the fuck on with it and tell me how to play your nightmare Monopoly game.

I could easily resist it. It's your life at risk, not mine. Well. The life of you and your friends. [[But since you insist, she moves away from her a little and points to each of the five boxes containing a person.]]

All you have to do is guide these people safely through the maze. If you can do that, you all win. Yay! Simple enough, right?

I'm sure you'll find a way to make this hell anyway. [muttered under her breath before she squares her shoulders and turns to look Rose full-on]

Anything else? Because otherwise I'm ready to get this the fuck over with.

Nothing else! It's as simple as that. I'll go ahead and let your companions out then so you know who you're working with.

[[With that she moves to the boxes, opening them up one by one and letting the person inside know they're free to start roaming, but remember! It's dangerous to go without instructions from someone.]]

You are just too fucking kind. [Rose watches her do so, calling down to the newly freed prisoners once the last box is open]

Hey! Don't flip the fuck out over this, alright? You're all going to get out in one piece as long as you stay calm.

[Sorry, Strider, but this one's going to be a bit of a thorn in your side - normally he'd be all sorts of willing to help, but thanks to being fixed into his costume and simmering for a few days, his new ~kingly mind~ has other plans.]

[Not that he's really in any position to argue, blind bound as he is...]

[It's probably for the best for everyone else that they're blindfolded; looking at the fabric of Feferi's dress would be painful to do for too long. But she can at least think clearly enough to recognize Genda's voice, despite the effects of her costume.]

Your Grace. Please...I'm here. I need you to protect me. You can pass judgment once we're safely through this.

[Well this one was a bit more sane in the head! Sort of. Actually she was missing part of her head, but who's counting? Her death was only a few days ago, but it seems like she had already jumped off the deep-end.

But needless to say, she was not happy about being in Rose's trap again, and she was not happy being in the same place as these scoundrels!!]

I'm won't be subject to your judgment, you vile freaks! Get me out of here right now or so help me...!!

[Ok... it was really dark... and he couldn't move his arms... and from the sounds of things there were other people in the same predicament as him. Ok. Great...]

H-hey, maybe we should listen to... the first girl who talked and stay calm? [Yeah staying calm sounds like a good idea to him... though it's easier said then done..]

[Oh for fuck's sake. Rose, the more rational parts of his mind are all for this plan, but damn, he's pissed.]

This is a game. [[She sounds so proud of herself.]] A game all six of you will be playing together. I just hope you know who to trust!

[[Have as much of a cheeky smile as a girl with a wooden bottom jaw can give you, Rose.]]

[Rose pauses to give her puppet double a nasty look which quite clearly implies that if she's so interested in giving out commentary then why doesn't she just play the fucking thing herself. then she returns her gaze to the maze, smooth as can be.]

The bitch is right - we've all been hijacked into another fun torture porn scene. But I can see you and if you just don't flip the fuck out and listen to me I can walk you out of here.

Ok? I don't know how much sense I can talk into you guys who got hit with the costume shit but hopefully you'll understand there's a lot more common sense in letting the only person not blindfolded and psychotic talk you through this.

[Feferi's following the sound of Genda's voice as best as she can. It's made more difficult by the fact that she's chasing a moving target, but she's keeping her steps light. Still, she wishes she had her scepter with her, to use for balance and for feeling out what's in front of her.]

I believe there's at least a grain of truth in what the girl - foul-mouthed as she may be - is saying. At least so far as being able to see us goes.

And the young boy is also correct; we would all do well to calm our nerves and listen first.

[On the other hand, Jade was going to stand in one spot indignantly. Which may or may not have be smarter?]

[Dipper's not really moving either... but only because he's a bit too confused to start wandering around. He doesn't want to accidentally get hurt or something...]

That boy who spoke after you, however, has the right idea. Much as I would enjoy a shouting match at the moment...
