Summary: Canada discovers some new floors.
Warnings: angst, surely.

Seventh Floor

Canada peered into the pool, uncertain of its depths. She was a strong swimmer and those caves down below were intriguing. Maybe just a little dip into the water, but she didn't have a swimsuit. This was a strange thing to wake up to on her day of all days. Canada Day present perhaps? She wasn't sure. For now she waffled at the edge of the pool, Kumariie batting at the water's surface beside her.

Fifth Floor

The viewfinders were new and strange and she settled in front of one with a bit of wariness.

"Is...this home now?"

The sense of connection was almost immediate, but it took her breath away to see the devastation. The world she saw through the viewfinder was bare, desolate. If she stared long enough, she almost recognize landmarks and then suddenly, her heart hurt. A sudden heart-wrenching pain that brought tears to her eyes when even the view of her world could not. She felt her millions of people die and all that...that pain.

She pushed back from the viewfinder and buried her face in her hands, sobbing as quietly as she could. She wanted to be home...Only home was gone now wasn't it?

"Well I wish you luck on this. Either way, I am sure you and your friends will settle in. We seem to be an eclectic group."

Kanaya chuckles lightly, "Eclectic yes. Trolls, Countries, Humans from various places and times. Makes me wonder why we were all gathered here, why not target a specific place and rescue all of the inhabitants. But then again there is no telling how many more towers like this there are."

"I...suppose there could be other towers." Canada tapped her chin, "But if there are, I'd hope we could speak to them."

"I assume the existence of other towers based on the fact if our captors wanted to save our worlds they would need ample space. The size of this planet must be rather large." Kanaya pauses for a moment before continuing, "I believe that it is possible. Perhaps when the computers were down they were attempting to connect with another tower and failed to do so.

"The tower has expanded since I arrived though. Maybe they plan to simply...build up? I...I suppose it is possible, maybe that's where the missing people have gone?"

"A building can only be so tall before losing structural integrity and it collapses. I believe that would apply for buildings in any world. But they need to make more space for those who are here as well as a more tolerable living environment. Those who are missing may have gone to separate towers."

Canada hesitated, "You've seen the new levels correct? Wider, taller, deeper than should be allowed. I don't think this tower respects normal architecture in any form?"

"I have," she answered, "I do not know how the building managed it, as well as I do not know how the building managed to expand without any of our noticing. I wish I had the answers."

"None of us do. We'll simply have to keep looking."

"Unfortunately our search area is limited, perhaps our time here as well."

"...Oui. Wait, why would our time be limited here?"
