Bon Anniversaire indeed [OPEN]
Characters: Canada; OPEN
Setting: Floor Seven; Floor Five (July 1)
Format: Starting prose, whatever you want
Summary: Canada discovers some new floors.
Warnings: angst, surely.
Seventh Floor
Canada peered into the pool, uncertain of its depths. She was a strong swimmer and those caves down below were intriguing. Maybe just a little dip into the water, but she didn't have a swimsuit. This was a strange thing to wake up to on her day of all days. Canada Day present perhaps? She wasn't sure. For now she waffled at the edge of the pool, Kumariie batting at the water's surface beside her.
Fifth Floor
The viewfinders were new and strange and she settled in front of one with a bit of wariness.
"Is...this home now?"
The sense of connection was almost immediate, but it took her breath away to see the devastation. The world she saw through the viewfinder was bare, desolate. If she stared long enough, she almost recognize landmarks and then suddenly, her heart hurt. A sudden heart-wrenching pain that brought tears to her eyes when even the view of her world could not. She felt her millions of people die and all that...that pain.
She pushed back from the viewfinder and buried her face in her hands, sobbing as quietly as she could. She wanted to be home...Only home was gone now wasn't it?

"Oh over there!" Romeo clambered out and ran over to one of the lockers, "There's lots and I was going to give it back once I'd finished!" Because he didn't want miss Madeline to think he had stolen it!

"I don't get how it can be that deep."
no subject
He looked back to the pool and shrugged, "Me neither, but it is really really deep! I swam down until I ran out of breath and I still couldn't see the bottom!"

"I'll be careful miss, but I'm a really good swimmer!" He was, he'd managed to save the God of Death and Alfredo from drowning when the boat got smashed up in the middle of a storm, but he didn't like thinking about that.

"I think she likes whales but it's constantly changing. As long as you stay safe, you should be fine."

Canada gave the pool one more searching glance.
"Is it ice cold?"

Canada snagged a swimsuit, briefly checking the size and slipped away to get changed.

"Polar bears swim. I like swimming."
Canada peeked out from the dressing room, "Kumalop, don't scare him okay."

"She's sort of quiet most of the time. But it's normal I think. I mean, Iceland's puffin talks right?" She knelt by the pool, petting Kuma's head softly, "Sorry if she scared you."

"You mean it's just country animals that speak, because Piccolo never spoke to me ever!"
no subject
"I know most of our country companion animals can speak, but I think if animals don't speak where you come from, they won't speak now. And I'm not sure if he or she is or not. I'll have to look."

"I suppose diving in is the best way. Adjusting has always seemed silly."
