Hammer to Fall
Characters: Fawkes and you!
Setting: Floor Fifteen - Workshop, daytime
Format: Starting in prose, will match.
Summary: Fawkes grows tired of being unarmed, and goes to rectify this.
Warnings: Workin' in a workshop?
Between the various incidents that have gone on since he's been here, Fawkes has determined that this place, like the Capital Wasteland, seems like it will require a more violent approach - especially with the newer residents - namely, the monsters.
Lacking his weapons from home, the best thing to do in a situation like this is improvise.
Fawkes is currently rooting around the workshop for tools and parts he can use to craft a bludgeon of some sort - one of the tables has broken and warped metal bedframe pieces spread upon it.
...kind of a pity that the majority of these tools are sized for smaller hands than Fawkes', but he'll attempt to make do.

We definitely are. It would seem my weapons from home were too big for the trunk here, so I must make do.
[With that, he plods over to the table, and begins to sort through the metal pieces.] I do miss that laser I found, though.

[She means it sincerely, and it's clear to see on her face. Willow drifts along after him, more than tired of getting nowhere with her fine metal manipulation by magic and more than willing to watch someone else work for a change.]

[Now that he's decided on a general course of action, he's working on breaking pieces of the metal - which is somewhat easy with his strength.]
...that I can do this so easily does not bode well for the length of time I will get use out of whatever I make, but beggars cannot be choosers.

I could enchant it to be more durable, if you're really worried about that? [she offers, a bit tentatively.] I haven't done that before, but it shouldn't be too hard.

[He looks down, working on taping some of those broken pieces together.]
I suppose at this point, it couldn't hurt. A few extra swings could come in handy.

I should probably wait until you're all done, though.

She looks over the weapon carefully, and then reaches out to lay a careful hand on it. This is a spell she's already memorized, in case Buffy ever needed it from her, so it comes to her easily.]
Athena, lady of wisdom and war, [she intones,] lend strength to our fight and justice to our cause, in your name. [The weapon glows softly for a second or two, and then the light fades away.]
... That should do it!

Once she's done, he steps up, taking it in hand and thumping it against the workbench. Maybe it worked, or maybe it's just placebo effect...]
It does seem a bit sturdier. I thank you, my friend.

You're welcome! [she says cheerfully, smiling.] Us people on the same side have to help each other out, right?

But really, any time. [She's sincere about that. Willow just likes helping people.]
