Hammer to Fall

Summary: Fawkes grows tired of being unarmed, and goes to rectify this.

Between the various incidents that have gone on since he's been here, Fawkes has determined that this place, like the Capital Wasteland, seems like it will require a more violent approach - especially with the newer residents - namely, the monsters.

Lacking his weapons from home, the best thing to do in a situation like this is improvise.

Fawkes is currently rooting around the workshop for tools and parts he can use to craft a bludgeon of some sort - one of the tables has broken and warped metal bedframe pieces spread upon it.

...kind of a pity that the majority of these tools are sized for smaller hands than Fawkes', but he'll attempt to make do.

Of all the things that Preston had expected to run into in this strange building, a being like Fawkes was not one of them. Then again, he supposed that he should have expected to find something as strange, and a bit scary looking.

"...Aren't you a big guy?"

Fawkes looks up from hammering at the comment, though given his height, he's still looking down to a degree. He nods a bit at Preston.

"I am!"

Well now wasn't this a conversation starter? He started to look around the workshop for a moment before focusing his gaze back on the big guy. "So...is this place yours?"

[lucidmutant]

Fawkes shakes his head. "It is not - it is a public workshop, far as I am aware. No one has come in to tell me I should not be here yet."

There's a pause before he looks back at the man. "I am Fawkes, by the way."

Oh, that was good news, great news even! Not now he knows of a proper place to assemble his gun. This day was proving to be fairly fortuitous. "Oh, er, Private Preston Marlowe."

[lucidmutant]

"Oh, military," Fawkes comments, then gives the man a curious look. "Given that you're not shooting me, would I be correct in assuming that you're not part of the Enclave?"

[deadliestberet]

"Er, the Enclave?" And technically he hasn't reassembled his gun just yet. Though this guy doesn't really need to know that right at this moment.

[lucidmutant]

"The only real organized military I've seen in ages." He pauses for a moment, then shakes his head. "Given that reaction, I think it's safe to say that you're not with them."
