❝So hand me that remote❞
Characters: Willow (
guiltapalooza) and you! OPEN.
Setting: The media level.
Format: Action tags preferably, but I can prose if you wish!
Summary: Willow has way more free time than she's used to, especially without school to be a perfectionist over. She finds herself watching a lot of movies. Feel free to make multi-character threads and join existing ones, by the way!
Warnings: None.
[At the moment Willow is watching Zombieland, a movie right up her alley but from several years past her time, so she'd never had a chance to see it before. She's sitting on a couch across from the TV, hand in a bowl of chips and giggling periodically.
On the screen, there's a college-aged boy with poofy, curly hair running hurriedly away from a zombie co-ed with a broken ankle.] You just can't trust anyone, [says the narration.] The first girl I let into my life and she tries to eat me.
[Goddess, does that remind her of Xander. For once it's a happy reminder, though, and she practically chokes on some chips laughing at it. Him and that preying mantis teacher...
Follow the sounds of giggling and come interrupt her?]

--Oh, Anya is Xander's... [Wait.] She's his something. I don't actually know if they're dating right now or not. I guess in troll terms you could say that she's my moirail's ex-matesprit who used to be a vengeance demon, and then was a human, and now I think she's a vengeance demon again.
[And trolls kept telling her that human romance was simple. Sheesh, they'd clearly never been to Sunnydale.]

What's a vengeance demon?

It's someone that used to be human a long time ago, but got offered a job as an immortal demon to carry out vengeance wishes. So like, if I was wronged somehow and I wanted revenge, and I said "I wish he would blah blah blah", a vengeance demon that thought I was in the right would go carry it out.
It's a little, uh, graphic.

[Most matter of fact delivery possible]

So vengeance demons are morally ambiguous by human standards, because they help that along, but they also prevent them from doing it themselves in the first place.

Maybe it's short-sighted of me, but I don't think the good makes up for the bad, there. Can't we just have-- good and no bad? Can't that ever happen?

I still prefer my way of doing things. I'm tired of having to go through all the, the death and mayhem in order to come out the other side. Sometimes I want to go on the tea cups instead of through the haunted house, you know?
no subject
Not really, but I think I get it. Sometimes it would be nice for things to just be straightforward and less imminent death all the time. Which I guess is something for this place.

Back when I left the death was very imminent.

... Which we've been ignoring. Maybe I should rewind it, [she suggests sheepishly.]

Only if you want to. I really don't mind.

[Picking up the remote and rewinding~]

Okay, I think we were here?

[But she turns back to pay attention to the screen]

You know we don't have kismesis, right? Like, at all. See how awkward he is?

Violence in romance is considered abusive.
no subject
Well...yeah. That's kind of the point.

It's a complicated situation because there's so many countries on Earth, but most people go their whole lives without killing anyone.
