❝So hand me that remote❞
Characters: Willow (
guiltapalooza) and you! OPEN.
Setting: The media level.
Format: Action tags preferably, but I can prose if you wish!
Summary: Willow has way more free time than she's used to, especially without school to be a perfectionist over. She finds herself watching a lot of movies. Feel free to make multi-character threads and join existing ones, by the way!
Warnings: None.
[At the moment Willow is watching Zombieland, a movie right up her alley but from several years past her time, so she'd never had a chance to see it before. She's sitting on a couch across from the TV, hand in a bowl of chips and giggling periodically.
On the screen, there's a college-aged boy with poofy, curly hair running hurriedly away from a zombie co-ed with a broken ankle.] You just can't trust anyone, [says the narration.] The first girl I let into my life and she tries to eat me.
[Goddess, does that remind her of Xander. For once it's a happy reminder, though, and she practically chokes on some chips laughing at it. Him and that preying mantis teacher...
Follow the sounds of giggling and come interrupt her?]

So. Humans can uh... have more then one wiggler? Inside them? [Cause that really feels like a thing that should kill them...] Also, why would they. Have more then one? Isn't... one wiggler enough to raise? Lusus don't... try to raise more then one... [...thinking about what Romeo had said that one time] Is that why, parents leave sometimes...? Because they can't, deal with multiple wigglers?
[QUESTIONS!!!]

Well... yeah, women can have more than one inside them when they're pregnant, but that's pretty uncommon. Humans just have a lot of kids. The average is two or three per couple in America, but in some countries they'll have eight or nine.
But parents don't leave because of that! [She rushes to correct his assumption, as if it's offensive to some parents lurking behind a couch behind them or something.] Most parents don't... leave at all. When you have a big family, everyone helps take care of each other, anyway.
Family is supposed to be loyal to each other above anyone else. The expression is that blood is thicker than water, and family is who you're blood-related to. Not that that's held up that well for me, personally.

[Okay he's just going to kind of... desperately cling to the last thing she said there, and hope she doesn't insist on coming back to this subject]
What uh... has happened with you...? And your... uh... family...?

she means you, Xander, so Willow switches subject easily.Even if she is far from keen to discuss her own family. She gains a kind of embarrassed smile, hiding any associated hurt easily from long practice.] Um... not much has happened. I don't have any siblings or anything. My parents worry about me a lot, but they're, well, they're pretty busy. I see them for holidays sometimes, and they give me their opinion on my life.
[Willow shrugs.] My friends are really my family. It's... not supposed to be like that, but I'm happy this way.

Why... don't they talk to you...? Aren't they, supposed to take care of you?

[Yeah, Willow can see how this is not a great example to give him.] You shouldn't take me as normal, anyway. I'm about as far from normal as you can get in, like, every circumstance. Buffy's family is way more normal, and very loving. She and Dawn care about each other more than anything else in the world. They're sisters.
