Summary: Aradia's taking in a little of the tower's version of culture
Warnings: Grim art? But otherwise not much yet.

[Up until now, Aradia hasn't really spent much time perusing the art gallery that appeared when the tower grew a few floors. Today she's decided to rectify that.

And so she wanders aimlessly about the floor, looking at the various artworks on display and lingering in front of those that catch her eye. Probably one of the more morbid ones, but she seems far more fascinated than she does horrified.

Okay, Coleta it is.

So, what brings you both up here?

[entropied]

[SHRUG. The Summoner probably dragged her. Look she's getting all quiet again.]

We were taking a walk and decided to look around.

[...no, he totally dragged her around. There was very little 'we' about it. But anyway. Wrinkles his nose after a second, gesturing vaguely at the walls]

I uh, am not sure how we ended up here though. [This art is gross!!!!]

Oh...you don't like these ones? I don't know, I think there's a certain beauty about them, in a grim sort of way.

[She rolls her eyes.]

He's too squeamish.

[uprisings]

[WHAT LAKSDJFLJA HANDMAID HE KILLS PEOPLE FOR A LIVING]

I'm not... [Little huff] Seems like, there's enough of this in the real world without, uh, hanging it up on the, walls.

[Aradia shakes her head]

Surely that's even more reason to try and find the good in it. Or...who knows, maybe I've just died too many times to find it wrong.

[The Handmaid thinks they're fascinating, even though she won't say it. She shrugs at Aradia's comment, even as she feels an odd twinge of envy at her statement. How nice it would be to be allowed to die.]

He's just being a wiggler.

Y-- [LKSJDFLJ frowns at the Handmaid...]

I am not. [Then attention back on Aradia!! Because uh???]

You've died? More then once...?

[She nods]

Technically I shouldn't have even been alive to find the game we all played. But apparently paradox space has a problem with letting me stay dead so I was a ghost for a while. Then I was a sprite, then a robot and now I'm just...me. Alive, properly I mean. But if you add in the doomed clones I've created that's a lot more death.

[And she doesn't seem the slightest bit phased about discussing any of this]

[The Handmaid doesn't seem phased, either, just envious. YOU ARE HANGING OUT WITH A COUPLE OF FREAKS, SUMMONER.]

[YEAH HE'S SUDDENLY GETTING THAT IMPRESSION???]

[Aradia nods]

It's called SGRUB. We made a new world by playing it, though at the cost of Alternia.

[entropied]

[The Handmaid looks totally shocked and awed by this revelation!

No actually she just looks vaguely bored.]

Our descendants were the ones to play it.

[uprisings]

[Aradia no........ You don't tell a revolutionary you blew up his planet lksjdflkjsj]

[Just gives her this long... long look, like he can't quite decide whether she's insane or not. But of course if this kid's insane, then Coleta is insane too for going along with it. But... Alternia...? Being actually gone??? Maybe they've just fallen for the Tower's story? Oh god oh god can't decide whether he should flip or not welp it's kind of happening anyway WHOOPS]

[Aradia's about to query how Coleta knows about the game but then the Summoner's getting all freaked out and giving her weird looks and she's very suddenly reminded that she's a six-sweep-old faced with two adults]

Um, w-well...it wasn't on purpose. Or, I mean, Alternia would have been destroyed no matter what we did.

[She is so used to the idea of Alternia being destroyed that she hadn't even considered the fact that it might upset the Summoner. And she is ridiculously bad at pacifying anyone ever, so she shifts awkwardly for a moment before... touching his arm... That works, right? She doesn't really react to Aradia's nervousness because she's not used to having to worry about one person's reaction, let alone two.]

[uprisings]

[About to get... actually sort of threatening and all up in Aradia's space, but the touch on his arm catches his attention instead. Turns to look at the Handmaid, a sort of... distressed frown settled on his face. His wings flutter for a moment]

Why was it going to be destroyed?

[Aradia shrinks back a little, her own wings fluttering as she becomes a little nervous]

I don't know. I know there's something going on, far bigger than any of us, but I don't have the details. All I know is that we're just pawns, played by a chessmaster who won't let us deviate from what he determines to be the alpha timeline.

[The Handmaid frowns, shifting slightly. It's clear the whole fate thing doesn't sit too well with her.]

[uprisings]

[Glances between the two of them, the kid looking that nervous and Coleta looking so unsure. He really doesn't... even... know what to say to that!!! So he kind of sets it to one side, and responds to the... chess thing instead]

We are only pawns if we let ourselves be.

[Aradia looks down at that]

Perhaps. All I know is that it fell to me to ensure the timeline flowed as it was supposed to.

[entropied]

[It is... Pretty clear the Summoner has said something wrong as soon as he finishes speaking, because the Handmaid's expression closes off and she crosses her arms. She doesn't bother responding to either of them, though.]

[uprisings]

[...whoops, eyes on the Handmaid now. Why does it feel like he did something wrong??? Slowly reaches out to touch her elbow, even if his question is for Aradia]
