3. Stranger Danger
Characters: L and anyone who's stalking him. (At this point, IIRC, Eleanor Lamb, Nina Fortner, Romeo, and any other interested parties.)
Setting: Around the tower, primarily near the libraries, the Cafeteria, and the dormitory floors, but anywhere monsters might be found is also a good bet.
Format: Action preferred, but I'll match you if you really want to prose... it's just that I'm much slower with prose tags.
Summary: L manages to steer clear of the candy for two days, only accruing some stalkers, but eventually, a piece of pecan chocolate stows away in his waffle. This might be bad news for some of the stalkers, who will have to share him with--or follow him into--his new obsession.
Warnings: Eventual carnage expected. Any valentine hearts in this thread will have been recent residents of someone's chest. Quite possibly the stupidest death L will ever experience.
[On February 14th and 15th, L can be found in the cafeteria on the first floor, eating meals, already looking a little bit better than he did on Sunday. Outside of mealtimes, he can be found in the library on the third floor or the more technical library on the nineteenth floor, or briefly, on the 15th, in the art gallery on the twenty-second floor.
He has no intention of eating any of the candy that appears on Valentine's Day; his experiences in the Tower so far suggest that it's probably a bad idea to even touch the stuff, and events begin to support this hypothesis. A few people have begun to subject him to a level of scrutiny that he's never experienced before. That is, he's not usually on the receiving end of it.
Anyone who observes him eating a waffle on the sixteenth will see him stop, abruptly set his utensil on the plate, peer at the remaining waffle, and mutter, "Damn it." He's been so hungry, and now that he can eat again, ingredients that deserve nothing but suspicion are appearing in his food... in this case, it's pecan and chocolate, obviously a melted candy pressed into the middle of the waffle, not visible from the top. It tastes good, but that's not the point. The point is that it shouldn't be there.
After that breakfast, everything changes. He still takes meals in the cafeteria as much as he's able to, although sometimes he eats quickly or leaves without warning. He can still be found in some of the other places he frequents, but he begins to spend hours in the forest on the sixth floor, visits the twenty-fourth floor to no avail at least once, and, if you're hanging outside of the door of Room 2-02 because you followed him there and you'll be following him again when he leaves (you know who you are), you'll see that he leaves his room late every evening to wander the corridors on the dormitory levels for at least a few hours.
Whatever he's looking for, he seems to have devoted himself to finding it. When he has quarry, he's always single-minded about running it to ground.]
[OOC: I thought the best way to arrange this would be by date. Just specify the location in the subject line of your comment!]

But it had tasted just fine and it wasn't until he left his room that anything happened. He saw the man, someone he had seen before around the tower. Now however Romeo wanted to follow him, he seemed really cool!
And so for two days he had been following him, watching him. Happy just to stare from a distance.]
[February 16th]
I'm *awesome* and completely forget to actually click "post comment" before closing the window.
But this was different. This was obsessive. Darker.
And she couldn't stop herself from following him around, at a distance. Clad in her suit, she moved soundlessly after him, no longer bothering to let her steps clank along the hallways to warn others of her present. Avoiding fights didn't matter anymore. Protecting him, was all that mattered. Nothing else. Nothing else.
So there she is, all but shadowing his steps, ever silent. So long as no one tries to touch him, to talk to him, to look at him, she's content to just watch. Really. Although...]
I AM SO SORRY orz
He sees her out of the corner of his eye as he moves to different levels of the tower. She keeps her distance, enough that he wonders if a less observant person, someone less sensitive to the possibility of being tailed, might have missed her. Sometimes he senses her presence, looks once, sees her, glances away, and she's disappeared by the time he looks back. She's good at this, he thinks.
But it's been a while, and she doesn't seem inclined either to approach him or attack him, which raises an obvious question. Soon after his unfortunate waffle encounter, he turns and approaches her. His plan is to leave about three yards between them, if she doesn't turn and run before he gets that close. If she stays, he'll talk to her.]
It's okay! <3
She had not expected him to do much, or even approach her. But it's good, then, if he does. She can take better care of him if he sticks around close.
So by the time he's reached his three yard space, Eleanor has tilted her head to the side, portholes glowing a soft, friendly green that nonetheless remains kind of eerie. She wonders if there's something wrong. She hopes not, because if he's upset she'll be upset too, but at the same time, she kind of hopes there is something wrong. Then she can prove to him how good she is at taking care of things.]

The monsters are worrying but he does not mind, since L is there.]

The only trouble is that, while he feels full of love, he wasn't sure until yesterday who the love was for, in the specific sense. But now that he's figured it out, he's on the move. He pauses every so often to look and listen. At one point, his expression brightens, and he suddenly changes the direction in which he's ambling, walking with more purpose.
The kid is still following him, but as long as he stays out of the way, it will be all right. If he tries to interfere, though... if he tries to interfere, L will have to deal with him.]

So in the aim of keeping his spirits up he just followed, a good ten paces away at all times. Watching, just watching.]
