[So, apparently both of Terezi's quadrants had decided it was the perfect time to go insane last week. Things seemed to have calmed down now, but she still wasn't completely positive, so she'd snuck off to the spring floor and plopped down underneath a tree. Sollux was safe, at least, and she hadn't bothered to go check on her matesprit for obvious reasons. There's still a pretty decent gash on her cheek from their last encounter.

It had certainly been the Tower. No other explanation made sense, but that didn't mean she wasn't still shaken up about the whole thing. At least this floor seems quiet for now.]

[She tilts her head, smiling a little.]

Maaaybe.

[caliginous]

[He comically tilts his head in the opposite direction.]

Maybe.

[scalemate]

[She giggles, scooting over and patting the grass beside her.]

It's okay. I forgive you.

[caliginous]

Seriously though.

[He sits down a bit awkwardly beside her, rubbing the back of his head.]

Are you feeling alright?

[She nods.]

My cheek kind of hurts!

[She's teasing, though.]

What happened to your face?

[caliginous]

[He reaches up and puts his hand to it, seeking to pull the pain from it before she can protest.]

Do you really want to know?

[scalemate]

[She can still protest after.]

I was just kidding!

[But now she's looking at him curiously.]

I asked, didn't I?

[caliginous]

[He doesn't take his hand away until he starts talking, because hoo-boy, talk about awkward.]

Whatever was going on, you weren't the only victim. Can we leave it at that?

[scalemate]

[Should she judge him...]

[caliginous]

I'd rather not.

[She probably should, and Karkat is pretty sure she will.]

[scalemate]

[WHATEVER. She's too tired to argue. So she'll judge him for something else, instead.]

I can't believe you tried to use your stupid powers on me.

[caliginous]

[Oh fuck, oh no, oh fuck, oh no]

What--no. I didn't--

[Wait. Yes he did. He remembers. But he hadn't really had control of himself. But he'll just keep denying it.]

[Wait what.]

Yes, you did. You used your Thief powers on me and tried to do your mind control thing, too!

[Yeah, he can't look at her after that, so he adverts his eyes and lets his hand fall.

After all, he hadn't really been thinking clearly, and he still wasn't entirely certain as to what had caused it, so until he knew...he really had no argument.]

[scalemate]

[That wasn't... Exactly her intention. She takes his hand as he pulls it away.]

It's okay.

[caliginous]

No, its not.

[He lets her take his hand, but he continues to keep from looking at her. And after a moment or two, he'll try and tug his hand back.]

Karkat, stop. It wasn't your fault, right?

[caliginous]

Its always my fault.

[He scoffs and smirks when he says it, but he's only half kidding.]

[scalemate]

[Karkats and their Issues, man. She scoots forward to hug him.]

Stooop.

[caliginous]

[That just sort of makes him want to stand up and walk away. But instead, he finally turns to look down at her, eyelids drawing lightly.]

Would you stop that?

[There's a note of appreciation in his voice, but the guilt overrides it.]

[scalemate]

[She pulls away, frowning up at him.]

Do you want me to be angry at you?

[caliginous]

Of course not.

[Pausing...he doesn't want to give away his tough guy veil just yet, so he doesn't elaborate on his thought process.]

[scalemate]

[Fine she'll just... Squint at him...]

[caliginous]

[When he elaborates, he busies himself with fixing his jacket and playing with its lapels.]

Last I checked, you're the one with the injury, not me.

I'm fine! You barely even scratched me.
