3rd Shard
Characters: WW Link, AU! Link, and OoT Zelda
Setting: The workshop and OoT Zelda's rooms
Format: I prefer action but whatever works for you guys!
Summary: WW Link apologizes for being a child of the corn
Warnings: cuteness and later ear piercing
[Outside of the workshop]
[Hello, big brother(??)!! Remember how you met your lil' bro? Peekin' in all cute like into the workshop - well, that's what he's doing now, arms wrapped around something. And when he notices you there, he's gonna run over with.... well, actually, not a smile at all. A very apologetic frown. But he's not gonna speak until he's got your attention.]
[Outside of Zelda's room.]
[Hey there, princess; hopefully you remember this little guy - it'd be hard not to, right? Well, he's currently sitting outside of your dorm's door, arms wrapped around something in his lap and.... soaking wet, for some reason or another. Sitting in a puddle, as if he'd swam not too long ago, and still coughing up a little bit of water. Remind him to never dive again.]

Um... where am I supposed to lay down?
no subject
Up here, please.
[ ... This kid, they swear. Hang on while Link goes to find some metal smaller than a nail and sharpens it. There's no decent safety on the equipment here, but Link had long since figured out how to operate it.
Yes, that's... sufficiently sharp. The other thing needed would be a flat piece of wood... a thick one--yes, that will do.
Link takes it and, of course, lights Din's Fire in a small area in her hand to sterilize the needle for this. Not very high-tech, but that's how they did it.
Coming back over to the smaller Link now, while they heat the needle up. ]
no subject
... That's a really sharp needle you got there, bro.
Link lays down, eyeing that piece of metal as he does so. He's nervous but is at least managing to swallow it.
They've probably gone through lots worse than a little ear piercing, so he can, too.]
no subject
... What color earrings do you want? At least, for the moment. Until it heals, you will have to wear the same pair.
[ Keeping the needle hot, though. That'll help. But yeah, there's several colors of earrings just like the ones Link wears, so... ]
You're... certain you want to do this? I do not want to hurt you, though the pain is temporary...
no subject
I'm really sure. Um...
Do you have red ones? Really red ones?
[Because the king was really red.]
... And, um, don't worry, okay? Even though I'm little, doesn't mean I can't go through stuff like this.
[And then he gives them his hero face. Which is probably adorable, but either way, he means business.]
no subject
Oh course. ... I can tell you're determined. Lay down for me, then. It will be difficult for me to do this with you sitting up.
[ Annnnd needle and piece of wood are ready! ]
no subject
No big deal, Link; it's just a little needle. You've been through lots worse, right?
Just think about how hard Tetra would laugh at you if you cried. Yeah.]
no subject
Honestly, it's not as bad as you think, little Link. The older Link does not loom or draw it out. They get right down to business, placing the wood block under his small ear, and quickly, but not too quickly, driving the hot needle through it.
Does it hurt? A little. Not much, though. Not really. When that is done, with a cloth, they wipe away the bit of blood on the right ear, insert the red earring, and then fasten it.
There is no hesitance, and these steps are repeated on the other side. When it's all finished and done, Link checks the smaller's ears, making sure to wipe them of any blood. It'll be sore, but that's all. ]
... All done. Just make sure to keep these in for several weeks, and wipe around the area several times a day to make sure it stays clean, all right?
Oh... and, of course, don't take them out until the wound has healed. When it has and is no longer sore, you're free to remove them if you'd like, the holes will stay. It should not remain sore for too long.
[ Hopefully he's happy...? ]
no subject
... I don't think I'll take these out much, anyway; they're like yours, but red.
[Link gives them a small smile, still holding his face.]
Thank you. Even though it hurt.
no subject
He's.
So cute. Planting a little kiss on his forehead and ruffling a bit of hair. ]
You're a nice boy. ... I'm glad you like them, Link. Just take care of them and you will be fine. Do you like red that much?
no subject
Um... I used to be only okay with the color red, but now it reminds me of the King of Red Lions.
He was my boat. I only have a couple of figurines to remember him by, though, so I like that I have red earrings now, too.
no subject
It's motherly instinct.]What was he like?
[ Returning to their work now, you can hop off the table or not, little Link. They're working on a bracelet now. ]
no subject
He was really brave and really wise, and also very kind; a lot like Princess Zelda. She said he might be her descendant, because he's also the king of Hyrule.
He couldn't go on land as a person though, I think. So he had to be a boat, but he could talk anyway. He was a lot of fun, too, even though he teased me a lot.
no subject
The king... like her father. I... never met him, myself. I only know of the timeline in which...
[ Presumably, he has died or been imprisoned. And now Link wonders if they even really know what happened... ]
... At any rate, I do not think I have ever heard of someone who could become a boat, but it is hardly shocking.
no subject
I'm not sure; it's really hard to think about. It kind of seemed like he was a spirit in the boat, I guess.
[He shrugs then, moving to sit more comfortably on the edge of the table and watch them work.]
no subject
... Perhaps... he used magic to possess the vessel? It would be hard without knowing him personally to guess.
[ At any rate... ]
You have met some interesting people as well, it seems.
no subject
[Of course, Medli could get along with almost anyone.
He can;t help letting out a little giggle though -]
But I don't know about you and Tetra. You might think she's a brat.
no subject
I do not think she could be any worse than Mido, believe me. He was the king of brats. Besides which, if she is a friend of yours, I would most certainly love to meet her.
[ That aside... ]
Likewise, however. I cannot help but feel like you would like Saria and the others as well.
no subject
Like you are!
no subject
... T-thank you, Link.
[ MODEST. ]
no subject
[Head tilt!!]
For what?
[He was just stating the truth, after all.]
no subject
...
[ UM. HELLO? The compliment silly.
Akhdfkgh stop you're making them all flustered. ]
no subject
... Oh - oh, what I said! No, um... you don't need to thank me!
It's only true, you know; and besides, people should thank the people who are being kind!
no subject
Of course I do...
[ They... don't believe it ahahaha, but... SUBJECT CHANGE GO. ]
More importantly, perhaps you can help me. What do you think the Princess would like?
no subject
I don't really know... maybe a pendant?
[Girls like pendants right, I mean he traded a billion of them for an island.]
